Chapter 2 The end of a bond

Ember POV

I instantly place my hands on my belly, making a quick hide from her judging gaze.

I held myself gritting my teeth and cupping my hands together. I can feel the blood dripping on my palm when my fingernails dug in. I felt pain but their insult was much more agonizing than this.

" I won't allow you to be a Luna of the Black Moon Packs if you can't give your Alpha an heir!", she warned me with her narrowed stare after shifting her gaze to her son.

" I agreed, Mother. Since Kate was my brother's fated mate. Besides, she was pregnant with the Alpha's heir so there's no point for you to stay in the mansion. You've been a Luna for almost four years and yet you neglected your duty to provide your Alpha an heir!", Cristina's insult continued as if she knew everything why I couldn't get pregnant.

Yes. I couldn't give Paris a child. This is my biggest mistake. Once, I thought that as long as we love each other enough to resist difficulties together. Until he met his fate mate and everything changed.

" If you want to atone for your sin, you will do what's good for your husband's future. This child will bring him a good reputation as an Alpha of our Packs and you will help him to achieve it!", Mother Luna Lara told her last blow to encourage me, but hearing their unfair judgment between me and Kate shattered my heart shattered in pieces.

Christina said, "Grab her and get her to the operating room!"

The bodyguards immediately surrounded me and held down my hands and feet. Without the strength to struggle, I looked at him: "Paris, do you believe me?" I was hoping that he could make a fair decision . Besides, I'm still his wife. But he just stood there indifferently, as if silently following Christina's approach.

I was heartbroken at this moment. That's enough, I am supporting this marriage from beginning to end. I am nothing in Paris's heart, so how could he believe me? An unprecedented level of exhaustion swept over me.

I can no longer hold on to this sad and ridiculous marriage.

I smiled bitterly: "Let's get a divorce."

"Stop being unreasonable. If you make a mistake, you should bear it. I'll give you one million. This money will help you take good care of your body and cope with your future life." He coldly said while taking a piece of paper from his pocket and a pen.

I looked at him in disbelief. He still doesn't believe me.

He walked into me. He became strange and cold.

"I guess you just want to keep your Luna position so badly, am I right? Okay, that's all yours!", His words were like an arrow struck my heart.

It was killing me. The wolf inside me wails with so much humiliation and rejection from her Alpha. My throat seems stuck. My lips were trembling so badly and my whole body wasn't in control anymore. I felt like any moment, I'd lose my senses and consciousness. I need to gather my acts together.

" I don't need your money or the Luna position either!".

" Why did you stay even though you know that I found Kate as my fated mate? Why? ".

What a stupid question was that.

"Why do I stay, Paris? It's because I fucking love you!".

The coldness and rudeness of my husband, the unfair judgment of his family towards me, and the lies of Kate to run away from her mistakes; I had enough of all of this.

Ember: "I'm not guilty. Why should I give my kidney to Kate? I want to see how badly Kate is hurt!". I struggled to get away from the bodyguard.

I set a smirk on my face as I forcibly took the piece of check from Paris's hands and stormed toward his mistress. I firmly slap it on her cheeks.

" What are you doing?", Mother Luna shouted at me!

" You can't hurt my mate! According to the Pack Laws, a great punishment will be given if an Alpha's mate is hurt. An Omega like you has no right to hurt Kate!", he scowled at me, and to see his expression, he only cared about her.

I wanted to scream in pain. My miseries were like deep wounds that were hard to heal anymore. I see no chance in Paris's eyes anymore to love me back. He's been blinded by Kate's lies but before I exited myself from his life, I must unfold her lies to him.

" Really? Do you care so much about her ?", my voice sounded steady as I kept my face firm. Being weak won't give me freedom.

His grip doubled and it hurt a lot. I winced in pain but he didn't care.

" Can you stop being stubborn? Kate was hurt and we're in the hospital! Don't you dare hurt her!", his expression was stern threatening me.

I finally get away from his grip. This time I defended myself.

Since we got married, I was always obeying his every order. I even obeyed his mom and sister when they requested anything for me to do without giving any complaints or asking questions. I had always been a good wife to him so how could he treat me like this?

" Stubborn? Me? How come? Why I was the only one getting all the burden, Paris? Why do I need to donate my kidney to her? Did she hurt her kidney or was there any complication? Explain-----", I jumped in surprise with my fear reaching through my spine when Paris roared in anger.

" No! I won't give my kidney to someone full of lies! I'll show you, all of you how Kate hurt herself!", I said while rushing toward her and pulling her hospital gown to reveal the small scratch on her womb. The cut wasn't on the kidney portion.

All their eyes widened especially my husband, Alpha Paris. I want to see this kind of expression in them, especially in Paris. Kate's face looks mortified. Before she can speak, I distract her.

" Look! Is she sick or not? Was her kidney damaged? Where and how come? There's nothing to donate especially my kidney because she's faking everything since she's here!", My lips quivered while revealing it to them. I was also nervous because I didn't know if I had the guts to expose her lies and drama but I did it.

I saw Paris's eyes sharpened towards her. He came closer and confirmed it himself.

" Kate, were your kidneys not hurt? Was Ember telling the truth? Tell me?", now he's asking Kate about her lies.

Kate couldn't speak well. She's pale as a white paper. I never waited for her to speak because I had other plans.

" Paris, now that I prove to you that I am innocent, maybe it's time to cut our bonds too. I'm leaving for good." I softly muttered taking all the air from my lungs.

He looks in awe.

" What?", he asked me to try to read my mind. He can't read my mind anymore because I decided to cut off our wolf links.

I took a deep breath and said my final words.

" Paris, Today, I reject you as my Alpha!".
