Chapter 6 FATHER'S DEMANDS

LIAM'S POV

We got to the house. Her gay looking friend Albert came with her and I felt very irritated. The way he kept yapping about completely irrelevant things and the way that she was smiling about it all felt very annoying that I had to leave the limo and move to my other black car that escorted us back to the mansion with the excuse of wanting a little privacy.

"My gosh!!! Your house is so big and wonderful and even more sleek and mature than your father's." Albert exclaimed really loud.

"Albert!!" Audrey cautioned.

I simply rolled my eyes and moved upstairs.

"Um...excuse me, married man."

I turned back to see Albert standing with his hands on his waist.

"What?" I asked him dryly.

"You haven't shown us to our rooms and you're walking away. Well I know Audrey would of course share your room..."

"Come with me, I'll show you both to your rooms." I simply said to cut off whatever thought that might have sprung up in his little head.

He must think that the marriage is a very serious one. For me, it's all about getting my share of the inheritance and returning to the one that I love which was certainly not Audrey.

I didn't bother to wait to see the expression that he had on his face as I led them up the stairs.

I got to the first floor and pointed to the white door directly in front of the staircase.

"That's your room there." I said to Albert.

Then I pointed to the room beside it.

"That's yours." I said to Audrey.

I resumed back down from the staircase but I hadn't gone very far from Albert asked,

"And...what of your room?"

I looked up the stairs at the rooms on the second floor then I looked back at him. I saw that his mouth dropped open but I didn't mind. I think I already passed my message across.

I walked out the door and left the both of them to do whatever it is that they were pleased with. The house was big enough to house more than ten thousand people and that wasn't me bragging or exaggerating.

Now, I had done as my father had always wanted. It was time for me to collect. I got into one of my black Nord cars and drove through the driveway out of my electronic gate.

I tried shuffling through the songs I had downloaded but I just didn't feel like listening to anything. Even the sound of the cool breeze whooshing past me through the window of my car as I drove through the streets of Manhattan.

I finally got to my father's mansion. Albert was right about mine looking a lot better and modern.

My father had a flair for the classics and for Victorian designs. I just couldn't understand why he liked dull boring colors and boring floral decorations.

I drove through his electronic gates until I got to the front of the mansion.

I skipped two stairs as I ran rapidly up the staircase to the huge double brown doors that were the main entrance. I opened the door and stepped inside. It was awfully quiet.

My father loved to party a lot and so whenever he was free from the office, he would gather his friends around but now that he's retired, he partied for five days straight in a week. I didn't really like to party so I must have gotten that from my mother.

I checked him around the mansion and he wasn't at his usual spots. The pool house was empty, the sauna lounge was empty as well and so also was the back porch. I decided to check him in his study but I didn't think that it would be very likely that he would be there.

"Father!" I called as I opened the door of his office and found him putting on his glasses and looking over some documents.

He looked at me and returned to what he was reading or studying, I wouldn't know.

I moved to the sofa beside his table and sat down there.

"I see that you're not partying today. Why is that?" I asked him.

He chuckled lightly, "is that really all that you know me for? If I party, it's because I have the right to. I mean take a look at you. I created you."

He loves to brag a lot so this was a completely normal thing for him to say.

"All this and all that you have is because of me. You're controlling the company now but you're still working for me. It won't be yours until I've given you your inheritance and the company may or may not even be a part of it." He said.

"That was exactly what I came to see you about father." I said to him,

"Is that so ?"

"Yes father." I replied.

"Well....you can speak." He said.

My father was very strong and adamant. It usually took a lot to change his mind. Hopefully my wedding ceremony is enough to get him to give me what is mine.

"Father, I have done as you have instructed, I have married your best friend's daughter. Thanks to our union, her family will finally be able to enjoy the prestigious lifestyle and their status too has been upgraded. Now that we have both come to terms with that , I think it's time you give me my own share of my inheritance." I demanded.

He sighed and looked at me, dropping the documents in his hand.

"Is that all you care about? Be happy and free in your marriage. I mean don't you like Audrey. She's beautiful and impeccable. You can't find someone like her anywhere else. You both should enjoy your wedding and of course go for a honeymoon."

I couldn't believe that he was uttering all these now.

"This wasn't a part of the deal." I said through gritted teeth.

"Well, it's just how business is son, unpredictable, so deal with it. You have got to learn to be responsible as a man, not just as a CEO. You've lost sight of that. I'll set up a honeymoon package for the two of you. Make sure you make good use of it. Now, you may leave."
