Chapter 5 Family plans

Chapter five

As daybreak filled the mansion with soft light, the bustling sounds of the morning began to echo through the halls. From his room, Alex's voice could be heard as he made a call to his fiancee.

"Good morning, hotness," he said, his voice tinged with excitement. "I can't wait to see you."

On the other end of the line, his fiancee's voice responded with warmth and affection. "Good morning, Alex," she replied, her voice filled with anticipation. "I'll be arriving in town today. I can't wait to be with you."

Alex smiled at her words, his heart swelling with happiness. "My security team will be waiting for you at the airport," he assured her. "They'll make sure you get here safely."

Alex smiled at her words, his heart swelling with happiness. "My security team will be waiting for you at the airport," he assured her. "They'll make sure you get here safely."

As Alex continued his conversation with his fiancée, there was a soft knock on the door. A maid entered the room, her demeanor respectful yet urgent.

"Mr. Alex," she said softly, waiting for his attention. Alex glanced at her, raising a finger to signal his fiancée to hold on for a moment.

"Yes?" he asked.

The family lawyer, Mr. Jennings, is in the living room. He's about to share the inheritance according to your late grandfather's will," the maid informed him.

Alex's expression hardened slightly at the mention of the will, but he nodded in acknowledgment. "Thank you. I'll be there shortly."

Returning his attention to the phone, Alex's voice softened as he spoke to his fiancée. "I have to go,. Family matters to attend to. I'll see you soon. Remember, the security team will be there to pick you up."

Hush fell over the room as all eyes turned to Sebastian. He looked stunned, clearly grappling with the enormity of what had just been bestowed upon him.

Mr. Jennings proceeded to detail smaller bequests to other family members and charitable donations, but the primary focus remained on the substantial roles and shares given to Alex and Sebastian.

Finally, Mr. Jennings addressed the room with a serious tone. "Mr. Lee's final wish was that Alex and Sebastian, despite their differences and the circumstances of their upbringing, would come together to lead Lotex Corporation to new heights. He believed in the potential of both his grandsons and hoped that they would honor his legacy by working together."

After ending the call, Alex took a deep breath, steeling himself for the imminent meeting. The inheritance was a crucial matter, not just financially, but also in terms of the power dynamics within the family. He knew that this meeting would set the tone for the future, especially with Sebastian now in the picture.

Also getting informed about the news Sebastian got up,He quickly freshened up and made his way downstairs to the living room. The atmosphere was tense as he entered, the eyes of his family members turning towards him looking at him as an outsider. Mr. Jennings stood at the head of the room, holding a thick envelope, the contents of which would dictate the future of Lotex Corporation and the Lee family.

Mr. Jennings cleared his throat, drawing everyone's attention. "Thank you all for coming," he began. "As you know, now that were all complete we are here to discuss the will of the late Mr. Lee. This document outlines his final wishes regarding the distribution of his estate and the future of Lotex Corporation."

He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. "First and foremost, it is important to note that Mr. Lee's primary wish was to ensure the continued success and unity of the family and the corporation. To that end, he has made some specific allocations and stipulations."

Mr. Jennings opened the envelope and began reading the will. "To my grandson, Sebastian Lee, I bequeath the position of CEO of Lotex Corporation, along with 50% of the company shares."

There were murmurs of approval and surprise among the family members. Sebastian maintained a composed exterior, though internally he felt a sense of validation.

"To my grandson, Alex Lee," Mr. Jennings continued, "I bequeath 30% of the company shares, with the expectation that he will take on a significant role within the company, working alongside sebastian to ensure its continued success."

Alex's face flushed with anger as the weight of the lawyer's words sank in. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. His grandfather had named Sebastian, the brother he barely knew and already resented, as the CEO of Lotex Corporation. The unfairness of it all gnawed at him, and his emotions boiled over.

Without warning, Alex stood up abruptly, his chair scraping loudly against the floor. All eyes turned to him, but he didn't care. He stormed over to Mr. Jennings, snatching the will from his hands with a look of pure fury.

"This is all bullshit!" Alex shouted, his voice echoing through the room. He began tearing the will to pieces, the fragments of paper fluttering to the ground like confetti. The room erupted into shocked gasps and murmurs as the family members watched in disbelief.

"Alex, stop this at once!" Mr. Jennings demanded, trying to regain control of the situation. But Alex was beyond reason, his rage blinding him to the chaos he was causing.

"You think you can just waltz in here and take everything that's mine?" Alex yelled, directing his anger at Sebastian. "You don't deserve any of this! You don't know what it takes to run a company like Lotex!"

Sebastian stood up, his own anger and frustration bubbling to the surface. "I never asked for any of this, Alex!" he shot back. "But I'm not going to let you disrespect our grandfather's wishes or our family like this

The tension in the room was palpable, the air thick with unspoken words and unresolved emotions. Sarah, still seated, looked on with a mixture of sorrow and concern, her heart breaking at the sight of her sons at each other's throats.

Mr. Whitmore stepped forward, his face a mask of disdain. "Alex, your behavior is disgraceful," he said coldly. "If you can't accept your grandfather's wishes, perhaps you don't deserve to be part of this family."

Alex turned to face Mr. Whitmore, his anger undiminished. "You don't get to lecture me about family, Whitmore," he spat. "You're just a parasite, feeding off our wealth and power."

Mr. Jennings raised his hands in an attempt to calm everyone down. "Enough! This is not the time or place for such behavior. We need to come together and honor Mr. Lee's legacy, not tear each other apart."

Alex glared at the lawyer, his breathing heavy, before finally stepping back. He felt a mix of anger, betrayal, and helplessness. The room was silent, the tension hanging thick in the air.

"This isn't over," Alex said, his voice low and menacing. He turned and stormed out of the room, leaving the family in stunned silence.

As the echo of Alex's angry footsteps faded, the room gradually emptied, the rest of the family members getting up and leaving in a hushed, awkward silence. The atmosphere was heavy with tension and unease, the aftermath of Alex's outburst lingering like an unwelcome shadow.

Sebastian watched them go, his heart heavy. When he turned to his mother, Sarah, he saw tears streaming down her cheeks, her face a picture of sorrow and distress. The sight of her pain struck him deeply, and he immediately moved to her side, wrapping his arms around her in a comforting embrace.

"Mom, it's going to be okay," Sebastian whispered, his voice gentle. "We'll get through this together."

Sarah nodded, but her tears continued to flow. "I never wanted this for you, Sebastian," she said, her voice trembling. "I never wanted you to be caught in the middle of all this."

"I know you don't need to tell me, let's go up so you can rest."

Sebastian helped his mother to her feet, and together they made their way back to their room. The luxurious surroundings did little to lift their spirits as they settled in, the events of the day weighing heavily on their minds.

In another wing of the mansion, the tension was equally palpable. Frank paced back and forth in his room, his face flushed with anger and frustration. His wife, seated on the edge of the bed, watched him with a mixture of concern and calculation.

"This ruins everything," Frank spat, his voice low and seething. "Sebastian becoming CEO spoils all our plans."

His wife, always the picture of calm in the face of her husband's outbursts, nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, it does complicate things," she agreed. "But we can't give up now. We need to come up with a plan to get rid of Sebastian and his mother."

Frank stopped pacing and turned to face her, his eyes narrowing. "What do you suggest?" he asked, his voice a deadly whisper.

She smiled, a cold, calculating smile that sent a shiver down even his spine. "We need to be strategic," she said slowly. "First, we need to discredit Sebastian. Make it clear to the board and the shareholders that he's not fit to lead. If we can create enough doubt about his capabilities, they'll have no choice but to turn to you."

Frank's eyes gleamed with a newfound sense of purpose. "And what about his mother?" he asked.

His wife shrugged slightly. "She's weak and sickly. If we isolate her, keep her away from any support, she'll become even more of a liability to Sebastian. He'll be too distracted taking care of her to focus on running the company."

Frank nodded, already envisioning the steps they needed to take. "We can start by planting rumors," he said. "Whispers about his background, about his ability to handle the pressure. We can use his inexperience against him."

"And," his wife added, "we can make sure that Sarah's health worsens. Subtly, of course. Ensure she gets the wrong medications or is denied proper care."

Mr. Whitmore smirked, feeling a dark satisfaction at the thought. "Yes, that could work. We'll make their lives so difficult that Sebastian will have no choice but to step down."

They both sat in silence for a moment, the gravity of their plans settling over them. It was a ruthless strategy, but one they believed was necessary to secure their future.

"Let's start immediately," Mr. Whitmore said, his voice resolute. "We have to act fast before Sebastian gains any more support."

His wife nodded in agreement, her eyes gleaming with determination. "We will. And soon, Lotex Corporation will be ours."

As they began to lay out their detailed plan, the mansion remained unaware of the brewing storm. The battle for control of Lotex was far from over, and Sebastian and his mother would have to navigate treacherous waters to secure their place and honor the legacy left to them.
