Chapter 6 Alpha's Mate.

WHEN I BECAME the Alpha of our pack, Silver Moon Pack, the elders kept on pushing me to find my Luna who will be with me to lead the pack. They say that it wasn't easy to lead a pack without Luna beside me and so they kept on bringing up women who might be a potential Luna. They came from prestigious families, came from another pack, an Alpha's daughter and so on but none of them caught my attention. I still believe in true mates, just like how my parents met each other. But I'm not getting any younger. It has been five years ever since I inherited the position as an Alpha, and the pack elders are now pushing me to just find a breeder so I can have a pup to be with me and will be my inheritor if I don't want to have a Luna. Just a pup...

Maybe, that's the best idea than to marry someone I didn't love.

"Alpha, are you ready?" Beta Sebastian asked as soon as he opened the door to my office without even knocking. That's how close he was to me, or that was just what he was thinking! I don't really like it when he walks inside my office like this. I am now his Alpha, but he's still treating me as his best friend. Well... we can't change something that we used to do almost all our life. But it's been five years! Damn, whatever!

"I'm ready. I told you to knock before entering my office!" I rolled my eyes. I was busy buttoning my shirt and he got in. What if he's with someone just like before?

"Alright, I'm sorry!" he chuckled. "Do you need some help?"

I hissed at him as I took my coat to cover my button down shirt. "Did you get the car ready, then?"

"Of course, what do you think of me?"

I shook my head and took my phone before I went towards him standing in front of the door. He was smirking at me. Although I really hate his attitude at times, Sebastian is my greatest friend, the most loyal and trustworthy that will never be replaced by anyone in the world. He has been with me ever since we were born, we're almost like twins with the opposite attitude. He's always smiling, while I don't smile often. I don't know.

Growing up, I got everything that I wanted and I needed. Many things in life that everyone dreams about, that would make them happy. Maybe the reason why I can't find anything now that can make me happy is because I have everything. Apart from having a mate...

Damn, I would love to meet my mate, that's my only dream.

As Trent was busy driving his way down to the woods, Sebastian was busy talking to me about women. The woman who he had been with last night.

"You should get a breeder that is good in bed!" Sebastian excitedly said.

"And how do you think I will know if she's good in bed or not? Should I ask her?" I hissed.

"Oh, Alpha! Give me that work then, I'm an expert! I will know if she's good."

"She's good when she looks like a whore just like your woes?" I asked.

Sebastian shook his head in disbelief. "Nah, I give up!" He surrendered both his hands in the air as he shook his head. "Whatever you want! I just want to see you smile again, just like... before."

I pressed my lips and didn't answer. The last time I smiled? I didn't know when it was. Even on the most necessary situation, I don't give a fuck to smile. Silence filled in the car and only the engine and the low growls of animals and creatures in the forest are what we can hear.

Until I heard something. I heard a growl and someone asking for help.

"Did you hear that?" I asked. I tried to listen to it again and I really heard someone.

"What? I didn't hear anything," Sebastian answered, who was now busy on his phone because I wasn't listening to him.

"Help! Please!"

"I think I heard it too, Alpha!" Trent agreed to me.

"Then stop the car," I told him.

"What? Why should we stop?" Sebastian asked again.

Trent stepped on the brake and the car stopped. I hurriedly jumped out of the car and listened again. I am not the type of someone who would mingle with someone else's business but there's something in me that's wanting to get in there, that's pushing me to go there.

"Help!"

I heard it clearly, it is a woman's soft voice followed by a loud howl of a Hyde. That's when I finally ran towards the direction. As I get near the woman's voice, I'm starting to smell something. A rose scent, mixed with a sweet smell of an unordinary alluring scent I have never smelled in my entire life. The beast within me wagged his tail as I ran towards it. I'm getting excited, and in a snap, I jumped and I turned to my Lycan form. And when I finally got to see that woman, I quickly grabbed Hyde's neck and cracked it in an instant, smashing its head and killing it without mercy.

As I was panting out of everything that I feel and the exhaustion of running here from a long distance, I saw her innocent hazel eyes. She looked terrified but I am really sure what she is to me. The woman I've been waiting for a long time...

Her beauty, her scent, the attraction between us, the bond was too strong and I can't get enough of it. I want more of her!

"Are you hurt?" I asked.

Just when I was about to get near her, she fainted out of fear. I sighed and scooted over to see her condition and saw how thin she is. Her innocent thin face... she looked like an ordinary she-wolf. She must be an omega... As I scooted her in my arms, the eagerness to be with her intensified. Her scent sends shivers down my spine, I get instantly aroused just by feeling her warm body against mine.

"Alpha!"

I looked up when I heard Sebastian's voice from a distance.

"Who is she?" he asked in surprise.

"She..." I mumbled and looked down at her once more. "She's my mate."

Even Sebastian couldn't believe that I would find my mate in the middle of the forest. Wearing a ridiculous dress and nothing to protect her feet. I took her straight to the Alpha's house to ask if she could be my breeder. Unfortunately, the Alpha's son came and told us that he's her mate.

"How unfortunate, Alpha. You just met your mate who had a mate," Sebastian said, shaking his head.

I sighed. We are now heading back to our pack. I decided not to take her because she may not feel the same way as mine. I can't see anything in her eyes, she didn't know she's my mate.

"Is there a one-sided mate?" I asked, still confused about what just happened.

"To be honest, I'm confused too, Alpha. Are you really sure you felt she's your mate? Maybe you just find her attractive. It's your first time helding a woman in your arms! Probably the reason why-"

"Shut up! I know what I felt! She is my mate and I'll wait until she rejects that boy."

Sebastian laughed in a ridiculed way. "Reject that boy? Did you see the way she looked at him? She looked like she's into him too. Don't get your hopes high, Alpha. Let her go and find another breeder instead."
