Chapter 7 The mysterious Angel

Chapter 7

Sania was shivering in her insides from the threatening aura of the reputed personage sitting across the oak wood work desk before her. The long floor to ceiling window, the eco-friendly indoor plants in porcelain vases, the elegant and extremely comfortable sofa set beside her, everything around her screamed power and money which was melting her resolution to fight for her rights.

But was she there to accept her defeat so easily? No matter what be the end result Sania decides to put up a tough fight against the Walkharts. She took deep breaths and recalled the influential words of her mysterious Archangel who boosted her morale an hour ago. Slowly the magic of diminishing fear processed inside her. At once she opened her eyes at Graham Walkhart like a virago with spitting fire.

She pressed the hang-up button and disconnected the call. "Please be patient Mr Walkhart. Do you think I would come all the way here without proof?" Sania's voice was too sweet for the diabetic patient sitting before her. Little did Graham know she would fight tooth and nail rather than embrace defeat. It was the sick truth of her life for which she needed immediate justice.

Graham knew his son was far away from sainthood better be called a devil and did the most unscrupulous deeds. But he needs to save his face and protect his family's name before the middle class assailable girl. He thought she was defenseless but he had misunderstood her entirely.

Gradually the hypnotizing words of the occult person minutes ago rejuvenated her courage to speak unyieldingly to Mr. Graham Walkart. Sania handed him a pen drive and spoke controlled but with a solid resolution. "You can play it and see the exploitation your son did on me with the cooperation of his friends."

Mr Walkart opened the video and could watch it only for a few seconds. Feeling disgusted he closed his eyes in utter guilt. It was his tribulation that no one could estimate. However Graham was a man with a lot of self-conceit. He would in no way accept his son's misconduct before a proletariat powerless girl though he was ashamed and anguished by his son's immoral transgression.

Extinguishing the voice of morals screaming in him he spoke stubbornly to Sania hinting threat. "That's not my son. You are mistaking him. Go to the highest court and I would see Abraham come out guilt free that he truly is. You are imposing charges in damaging my prestige in society by your baseless claims. Tell me who is behind you or who is trying to execute this dirty plan using you. Or else I will find out on my own and the repercussions will not be good for you." He then bent down, opened the first drawer of his work desk and threw a stack of notes carelessly before Sania.

"Have you ever seen such an amount of money in your lifetime? For a girl that you are from rags, dreaming of riches is not out of the ordinary. But my son is innocent. Keep this." He pointed to the currency.

"I do a lot of charity and I will consider you as one of the benefactors. The deeper you go in this case you only get to rupture your wound more." Mr Walkhart did everything that he could do to Sania Collins, by threatening her, by insulting her for her low financial status, luring her with money and finally by advising her to quit the case, taking the side of his useless son.

"If your son is innocent, why are you offering me money? Should I tell the court that you tried to bribe me for closing the case against your son?" Sania was ruffling the feathers of the old man excellently. Graham did not know she was no more a bourgeoisie commoner and was backed by a veiled powerful personage.

Two days later like a icky curse the shares of Walkhart Industries stooped to a record low. All the shareholders withdrew their money with no notice. Their multi million dollar company was reduced to bankruptcy in just a time gap of three days. The income-tax department went on a sudden raid declaring their entire assets as illegal acquisitions. The banks invaded their properties declaring insolvency. Mr Walkhart was crestfallen. He could not even get a clue on what is behind this when he suddenly receives a phone call from an unknown number.

A deep commanding voice spoke sternly on the phone which washed away the soil from under his feet. Mr Walkhart forgot to breathe for a few seconds in a shiver and his face lost blood becoming like a white sheet of paper. "Yes sir, I will do as you say." He spoke professionally trying his best not to get suffocated with the sudden claustrophobic effect. He put down the receiver and took a few deep breaths which were shaky before wiping his face covered in sweat with a handkerchief.

Later, when he spoke to Sania, his previous comportment of being a dangerous and threatening businessman was replaced with a loving and caring father. "Can you meet me tomorrow at eleven, child?"

Sania was puzzled at the concoction of his tone. She doubted if her ears were functioning well. Nevertheless she wouldn't misbehave no matter the amount of temper the old hog was raising in her nerves by his astute sweetness.

Sania was raised with morals. "Behave" her dad's word of mouth rang in her head repeatedly. Because the elderly man requested her to come to his office the next day, she went to meet him. He offered her a seat and placed a few documents in front of her. "Sania, this is my will. I have transferred my complete property to my grandson growing inside you."

Sania looked at him alarmed, completely taken aback by the unexpected statement. "But in return I have only one request. You need to marry my son." He concluded.

It was a blinding flash for Sania. Is she ready to marry her rapist forgetting all the injustice he did to her?
