Chapter 6 She looks pretty

The name Thiago stabbed Kira deep in her eyes, and her heart vibrated along.

"Should I answer the call?" Ethan asked.

"Answer it!"

Ethan calmly pressed the speakerphone, but didn't rush to talk..

"President Hamilton, is my wife with you?" Thiago's voice asked hoarsely.

A rush of anger surged in Kira, finding the word "wife" extremely annoying. "Mr. Thiago, watch your words, I'm your ex-wife now."

"Amelia, you really are with him." Thiago voice dropped a few more degrees.

"What else? Do I have to stay at your house waiting to be kicked out?"

She was so sarcastic!

Thiago's face darkened, "You shouldn't be so hasty. Our divorce proceedings haven't finished yet. Without a divorce certificate, you are still my wife in name. You should consider the Anderson family and your own dignity."

"You brought Veronica to live at Windermere Estate during our marriage and forced me to sign a divorce agreement. Thiago, did you consider my dignity when you did these things?"

Kira sneered, continuing. "You never considered my feelings, why should I care about the feelings of the Anderson family now? After all, I have given the position of the president's wife to Veronica. Go ask her for dignity!"

Ethan raised an eyebrow, picked up a glass of water and took a sip.

That's the real Kira, the timid little wife who had suffered in the Anderson family for three years was just an image she created for Thiago.

Although his sister was always perfect, he preferred the shocking, fearless girl.

Thankfully, she's back.

"I don't have time to argue with you now." Thiago's voice sounded tired, "Grandpa is sick, he's in the hospital now, he really wants to see you, he even refuses to take his medicine."

Kira's heart clenched.

Even though she and Thiago had gone their separate ways, his grandpa had always been kind to her during her three years in the Anderson family. After the divorce, she could give up everything, but she couldn't leave the lovely old man who treated her like family.

"Is it at the Hamilton group's hospital? I get it, I'll go see your grandpa right away."

After hanging up the phone, Kira sighed deeply, full of worry.

"kira, let me take you there." Ethan said softly.

"It's okay, I'm going to see his grandpa, not to provoke him. If you take me there, it will only intensify the conflict."

Kira waved her hand with a deep look in her eyes, "I'll drive there myself."

At the Hospital

Thiago and Mateo were standing outside Mr. James ward.

The lady in front of him had a beautiful face with delicate makeup, red lipstick, a black suit that made her figure even more graceful, her legs longer, the red ruby butterfly brooch on her chest was exceptionally dazzling, and her eyes were sparkling.

Kira suddenly realized, she came in such a rush, she forgot to transform into the gentle Amelia in a white dress and sneakers.

"Of course it's me. What, don't you like my new look?"

"Of course not! Your new look is much prettier than before! And you look more confident and energetic." Mateo said honestly.

"Really? Maybe it's because I got divorced."

Kira smiled and said, "I crawled out of the predicament and saw the sun again, of course I'm energetic."

Thiago's handsome face darkened a bit, feeling irritable, "If you think the past life was a predicament, why did you stay with me for three years? I've said more than once, if you want to divorce, I can take you to see my grandpa at any time, you don't need to serve three years like a sentence."

A wave of sorrow hit Kira.

"Yeah, Thiago, you have no idea how much Acacia freaked out when she heard your grandpa was in the hospital. She barely managed to get some food down at lunch, but then she threw up..." Helen looked at Veronica with sympathy.

"She threw up again?" Thiago looked worried.

"Veronica has been dealing with stomach issues. Stress triggers it. We've seen a bunch of doctors, but while they say it's nothing serious, they haven't been able to cure it." Helen sighed heavily.

"I'll find a top doc for Veronica. If the treatment here doesn't work, I'll take her overseas." Thiago said, wrapping an arm around Veronica's waist.

Kira snorted inwardly. She remembered her own struggles with her stomach issues, sweating bullets, going to the hospital alone. Although she never told Thiago, he must have seen her weak and pale, but he never showed any concern.

So, Thiago knew how to love after all.

Just not her.

Veronica leaned against Thiago, smirking at Kira.

Hold on!

When did this woman get so beautiful?

And that butterfly brooch – wasn't that the latest work by the famous designer Ava? Worth five hundred thousand bucks!

How could this girl from the sticks afford such luxury? There's no way she had that kind of money! That jewelry must be fake!

"Thiago, why don't you take Veronica with you to see your grandpa? She cried on the way here, she's really worried about him." Helen urged, ignoring Kira who had once cared for their family for three years.

Yet, Kira remained indifferent. If she didn't care about Thiago, why would she care about his lover?

Just then, the hospital room door opened and Mr. James secretary stepped out.

"Mr. James sent me to check if his grandson and granddaughter-in-law have arrived."

At this news, Veronica's face froze with jealousy.

"Mr. Dickson, I'm here." Kira stepped forward urgently.

"Mrs. Anderson." Mr. Dickson gestured politely. "Mr. James would like you and Mr. Thiago to come in."

Without another word, Kira walked into the room.

Thiago' lips tightened slightly before he followed her.

"Thiago, wait for me..."

Veronica tried to follow but was stopped cold by Mr. Dickson.

"I'm sorry, but Mr. James has made it clear that he will not see anyone other than his grandson and granddaughter-in-law. Please, go back."
