Chapter 5 Agreement

The property management staff fixed the kitchen's pipe.

Meanwhile, Waylon moved into the room next to Debra's on the second floor and learned more about her relationship with Rylee.

They had met while studying abroad. Despite their contrasting personalities, they became the best of friends, attending and graduating from university together. Even after they returned to their home country, their bond remained strong.

Rylee worked for Debra at the Morgan Group. Given their close relationship, living together came naturally.

Apart from hourly helps, the villa had always housed just the two of them. This was why Rylee often wore minimal clothing at home, which led to the incident that happened today...

"So, we're going to be housemates now?"

It was nearly dinner time when Waylon, having unpacked his bags, came downstairs and sat on the sofa, staring at Rylee who was now fully dressed. His expression showed clear displeasure.

"Why so glum?" Rylee's anger flared. "Do you think I'm thrilled to be living with you? You're probably pretending! You must be overjoyed, right? Living with two attractive women must be a dream come true for you!"

"Ridiculous!" Waylon shot Rylee a mocking look and scoffed. "I appreciate beauty, but I have no tolerance for dishonesty, especially from someone who lies about their bra size."

"You..." Rylee's cheeks turned red with rage. For a moment, she was tempted to force Waylon's face against her chest to prove her point that she was indeed a 36E, not a D!

Of course, Rylee eventually refrained from doing so. That just wasn't her way.

"You don't like me, do you? If that's the case, you're free to leave. No one asked you to stay here. But if you decide to leave, it's not Debra's fault. She really wants to honor her grandfather's wishes and make things work with you." Rylee chuckled deviously, obviously understanding the tension between Debra and Waylon.

"Or maybe you should be the one to leave?" Waylon remarked.

"Why should I? We bought this villa together, Debra and I. I own half of this place. So why should I be the one to leave?" Rylee giggled.

Waylon scowled. Did Rylee own half of the villa? Was she also wealthy?

Waylon grumbled to himself, "This is complicated..."

He turned to Debra, hoping for a way out.

"Don't look at me. I'm not buying out Rylee's share." Debra preempted Waylon's request, understanding what he was considering.

Waylon was lost for words.

"Anything else you want to say?" Rylee, seeing Waylon's discomfort, burst into laughter. "I own this villa. You'd better watch your words and actions around here. If you upset me, I can throw you out, and it wouldn't be Debra's fault."

Waylon's expression darkened.

He finally understood. Debra had probably planned to use Rylee to keep him from moving into the villa. However, things took a turn when Rylee and he clashed at their first encounter.

Driven by a desire for revenge, Rylee decided to keep Waylon around, waiting for a chance to strike back...

What a scheming woman!

No. He needed to put up with all this for Debra's sake!

Waylon told himself this before quickly putting on a fake smile. "Ha, Rylee, you have quite the sense of humor. We're practically family. Why would I want to upset you? Just say the word, and I'll do whatever you need!"

Both Debra and Rylee were taken aback. How could his demeanor shift so swiftly?

"You'll comply with any request?" Rylee gave him a knowing smile.

"Absolutely, any request!"

"Alright, don't forget your promise!" Rylee chuckled. "Since you agree to comply with any request, you won't have any issues with signing the agreement I have here, right?"

"Agreement?" Waylon raised an eyebrow.

"A housing agreement."

Rylee slid a piece of A4 paper across the table to Waylon, her expression turning serious. "These are the rules you'll need to follow while you're here for the next three months. Take a look, and if everything seems fine, just sign at the bottom."

Waylon was at a loss for words. So this was what they really wanted.

This had to be Debra's doing.

"Ugh, I hate reading," he muttered under his breath. He barely glanced at the paper. "No need to read the whole thing. Just give me the gist of the rules."

"Alright," Rylee said directly. "You and Debra are entering into a three-month agreement. Legally, there's no recognized relationship between you two during this period. That means you can't make Debra do anything she's uncomfortable with."

"No worries there," Waylon replied, understanding Debra's need for boundaries.

"And the same goes for you with me," Rylee continued.

"Got it," Waylon assured her, his face twisting into a wry smile. He believed he should be the one who hoped Rylee wouldn't make him do anything he was uncomfortable with.

"You're also not allowed to enter mine or Debra's bedroom without permission, regardless of whether we're home or not."

"Understood."

"And no smoking anywhere inside the house."

"Sure," Waylon quickly responded.

Rylee rattled off a dozen rules or so, and Waylon agreed to each without hesitation.

Both women were taken aback by his compliance. It was quite out of character!

"Is that all?" Waylon let out a chuckle as Rylee finished.

"For now, these are the rules. I'll keep you posted if any more comes to mind," Rylee mentioned.

"Alright, now that we've got your rules settled, I've got a request for my future wife," Waylon announced, still smiling.

Debra's expression soured. "What is it?"

"Over the next three months, I'd like us to go on at least three dates," Waylon proposed, his grin both annoying and somehow charming. "Living together will show if we're compatible day-to-day, while dating will see if we can spark romance now and then. These steps are vital for any couple. Honey, your grandpa is watching over us from heaven. Surely, you wouldn't want to let him down, would you?"

Debra's face flushed with anger, her hand twitching as if she wanted to slap Waylon.

This man was utterly despicable!
