Chapter 7 7.

- POV LAYLA

I wake up and it's still six in the morning, I get up, shower get dressed, go downstairs to have coffee, and thank the heavens that the idiot hasn't decided to run away to the Caccinis' house.

"Good morning, family," I say, joining them.

"Good morning! Daughter, you look beautiful."

"Thanks, Dad!" I say awkwardly and Luiza rolls her eyes.

I chose to wear a pink corset with jeans and white sneakers.

"Hey! What about me?" she asks angrily and I smile.

"You too, young man."

She sends him a kiss, which he returns instantly.

I ask my dad to pass me the bottle of coffee, and I notice a huge hickey on my sister's neck, which happens to be covered by foundation, but I can see from here that it's huge.

***I like her! *** My subconscious teases me and I roll my eyes.

"Dopey" is the name of the belt Dad will wear if he sees this.

We finish our coffee and leave in Dad's car, which has already been repaired because Antonela left in hers.

He also said he'd give us both a car to use since Luiza doesn't know how to drive. She loved the idea, but not me so much, after all, she's going to want me to be her driver twenty-four hours a day.

And I don't want that at all.

...

We arrived at school, Luiza went to her classroom and I went to mine, but unfortunately, I was stopped at the door.

"I must tell you that you already know who you're dealing with, so stay away from me and my man."

My man? What a cheesy thing to say.

I glare at her and decide it's not worth wasting my time.

"Excuse me!" I ask and enter the room, almost taking her arm with me.

I sit down and Kat looks at me with a dirty smile on her face.

"Girl.... I love you, I swear," she says and I smile at her.

"I know!" I say smugly and she laughs.

"I'm looking forward to doing my history assignment," she confesses.

"Me too, in fact, I'm fighting a battle inside myself between work and laziness, and I can assure you that laziness is already in the lead," I say and she bites her lip.

"That's true, but your sister is very happy to keep you company since she can see my brother," she warns.

"Indeed, and I'm sure she wants the bat that sucked her off to suck her off again," I explain and glance at Katherine and she laughs.

"At least she's welcome, right?" I ask.

"I have to apologize for Aiden being rude to you, he's not like that twenty-four hours a day."

"I can't say that, your brother was very stupid," I ask and she smiles.

"You've got guts, why wouldn't anyone do that, no one who knows him would have the guts to stand up to him."

"If he's used to people who lick the ground he walks on, he'll hate me even more."

"He says you're a wild doe."

"And he's an old fool." I sneer.

"Not an old man, please!" he asks and I smile.

"He's about my father's age."

"I need to meet him, Aiden won't stop talking about it."

"At least that, my father is an excellent professional, he has to be praised.

"Miss Collins and Miss Caccini, would you like to share this with the rest of the class?" teacher Rose calls out and we pull ourselves together before nodding.

...

Today's lessons were a drag, it seemed like the timetable never went away, but it's finally coming to an end.

"Come on Layla!" Kat says, taking my arm and leading me out of the school.

"Come on! I'll go with you, I've already dismissed Antonio."

She says pushing me in front of the car, I'm not scared because Luiza is already waiting for us, I open the door and they both get in and I do the same, setting off towards Katherine's house.

I wish with all my might that that idiot wasn't home, but if he is, he's in for a pleasant surprise.

...

I park the car at the entrance to the farm, Katherine and Luiza rush out, and I follow behind them at a slow pace.

"Let's do it here! In the living room," she says as soon as we enter the house.

"All right!" Luiza and I agree, according to her, she's come to help us, but it's all because the younger cowboy isn't there, which is good, she's helping us.

We start preparing the posters, I write, Lu cuts out the photos we're going to use and Kat does the writing in the notebook.

A few hours later, after discussing the positions of the photos and the font to use for the digital work, we finally finished and are now admiring it.

"It looks great!" Kat compliments.

"really ... it's beautiful," I say.

"Of course, I cropped the photos." my sister explains and I smile.

"Now we need to drink, who wants a tequila?" Kat asks, and I wonder if everything here can be solved with a drink.

"I'll pass!" Luiza says.

"I do!" I reply and they both look at me in surprise.

"What? I like drinks that make me forget that this assignment is worth top marks and that it has to be intact by Thursday."

"Nothing, I'll get it right away," Kat says and heads for the kitchen.

Luiz and I argue about her classes finishing before mine and her having to wait for me in the school parking lot.

"Good afternoon!" We hear Katherine's younger brother's voice and we both turn our faces to look at him, but unfortunately, he's accompanied by the jerk.

When he noticed me staring at him, he winked at me and I rolled my eyes.

Cynical!

"Hi kitten, have you come to see me?" Thomas calls, and Luiza goes, the two begin to exchange caresses, and two ministers later they go upstairs, probably to finish the damage he's done to her neck.

"Look what the wind has brought, the spoiled girl from the big city!" he says in an ironic tone and I force a smile.

"Hello, old man." I retort in the same tone and he gives me a furious look.

"What did you call me?"

"Old man, tired, arthritis, arthrosis, cramp... I think you get the idea."

"If you were aware of the things I do, you'd never open your petulant mouth to say I'm an old man."

"I don't have the imagination for it, and most importantly..." I approach him and stare at his smug countenance.

"I have no interest in knowing," I say and his expression changes completely and I smile victoriously.

It's clear that this man is used to seeing docile women throwing themselves at his feet, and I'm certainly not one of them.
