Chapter 5 THE OBSESSED NURSE

The next morning June rushed to the hospital to see Nora and get ready for her discharge. He met Kate doing the usual wars round after attending to Nora. As soon as she was done she excused herself to the reception, leaving Nora and June alone. Kate never liked leaving them together, because she feels jealous whenever she sees them together. June and Nora were chatting when Kate rushed back inside like she was pressed. Hastily Kate picked the T.V remote. "Have you both seen this?" Kate asked as she tuned the T.V channel to a certain station.

With keen interest Nora and June glued their gaze to the T.V screen. "Our daughter have been missing for three days now, her name is Nora, Nora she is..." Nora's parents were on T.V reporting that their only daughter was missing. A number to call was displayed on the screen which Kate hurriedly copied out. Straight away she dialled the number and it was Nora's Mom Dr. Mrs. Williams. "Hello Williams on the line, who please?". Mrs Williams answered. "My name is Kate from Total Care Hospital. I am the nurse in charge of your daughter's case. She was rushed to our hospital three days ago half dead. I saw the report on T.V just now, so I decided to inform you, bye for now" Kate whispered and swiftly ended the call. Kate didn't want June and Nora know whom she had called. Nora was confused, "what's that about? I mean the news" Nora asked looking at June and Kate. "You have just been declared missing by your parents on T.V!" Kate exclaimed. "Yea I heard my name but I'm not the only Nora in the world" Nora responded. It was obvious Nora didn't recognize the couple she saw in the news. But she knew her name was mentioned. "Anyways I already called your mum and I told her we are here" Kate confessed. "Why would you call anyone on me without my consent. What if they were sent to harm me". Nora angrily spoke facing Kate. "I am sorry I didn't mean any harm. You have been discharged and fit to go home, so I thought its best to call your parents" Kate pretentiously narrated appearing to be concerned. But she had alterior motive. "I have been discharged fine! Was it not someone who brought me here?. That's whom I'm going with. You are very insensitive Kate. Was it my parents who brought me here?, did they pay my hospital bills?" Nora still angry came down from the bed. "I need to use the restroom" Nora snapped. With her feeble legs, she dragged herself out of the ward. "I think she is still angry let's give her some time she would cone around. Remember the doctor's advice about her quick recovery from amnesia" June pleaded with Kate for being yelled at by Nora. "Its okay, its fine" Kate responded. "Let me go and check her out, she might need some assistance" June suggested trying to walk out of the ward. June had turned one hundred and eighty degree wanting to go fetch Nora when Kate pulled him back by the wrist. She pulled him close to herself enough that his chest was in contact with her breasts. Kate wasted no time as she reached for June's lips and gave him a deep kiss. Mouth to mouth for about thirty seconds Kate kissed June passionately. It was as though June was hypnotized by Kate. Suddenly June broke off from her hold. "This is unprofessional, you shouldn't be doing this in the hospital. Moreover we ain't dating. How long have you been thinking this?, you are like an elder sister to me. This is unbelievable" June expressed himself in disappointment after the unexpected deep and passionate kiss Kate gave him. June walked out with his head bow down and hands at akimbo replaying the memory Kate just planted in his head. He hastened up and went to look for Nora. Nora had changed into another cloth which only God knows where she it from. She was already walking out of the hospital informing neither Kate nor June. "Nora, Nora,..Nora.." June called out to Nora checking from one restroom to another. Until he got to the end of the building. He followed one of the two ways to his right which led towards the hospital gate. Afar off June sighted Nora outside the gate already walking to only God knows. June ran after her. "Nora Nora, where are you going?, I thought you wanted to use the restroom". June expressed. "I couldn't wait a minute longer there, I don't trust that Kate, she maybe up to no good. I had to lie that I'm pressed so I can go before whosoever she called comes for me". Nora opened up folding her arms. " it's okay Nora, I'm sure she was looking out for you that's why she called your mum" June tried persuading her. "She should have allowed me decided if I wanted to, besides I should be the one to call. At least they are my parents not hers as she claimed". Nora concluded. "You are right, but trust me you don't need all these stress now, you should rest and eat something. The doctor gave a lot of conditions we must follow to hasten your full recovery so you can remember everything in the past you are missing out. Especially the recent past of your accident". June enlightened. Nora insisted on going with June even if he were to be living in a hole Nora was determined to go with him. June and Nora got a taxi and drove to June's house. Kate was there at her desk wallowing and reminiscing the moment of kiss she had with June. It felt like everything to her. It was as though nothing else matters to her. "He is mine, I won't allow that silly Nora stay with him she should go to her parent's house. June has tried enough for her". Kate nagging with the loud thoughts in her head as she unconsciously banged her desk. Immediately she returned to herself and looked around to see i f anyone else was looking at her but she was alone in the room with her thoughts.

Meanwhile, on the day Nora slumped and fainted after being assaulted by her fiancée Basher. The Williams drove to the Anderson's duplex where Nora was mal-handled by Basher. The gate was opened so they drove in, stepped out of the car and went into the duplex. On getting inside the living room. Basher was seen lying on the tiles floor naked with only a short, wasted away with alcohol and with three ladies. One lying on his chest and the two others were lying around him half naked. They were wearing only pants and bra. The one lying on Basher's chest was only wearing a red pant with no bra, she was lying on him with her breasts resting on his chest. It was as though they just had a foursomes sex. Seeing this, Prof and Dr. Mrs Williams were dazed and immediately ran outside. They couldn't contain what they saw. They were about driving out when Dr. Mrs Williams excused herself. "Honey, please a minute, I will be back" Prof's wife went inside again and took some pictures of the naked scene of Basher and his whores. In case it might be needed. Being a lawyer, she was being proactive. She had PhD in psychology and law but she prefer being addressed as Dr. Mrs. Williams to Attorney. "Let's go honey" Dr. Mrs. Williams asked Prof as they drove off the Anderson's duplex. Along the way, Prof's wife showed the pictures she took to her husband. "That's so thoughtful of you well done" Prof commended his wife for the smart move. Dr. Mrs Williams dialled the Anderson's number "you should see for yourself how barbaric, drive to Basher's duplex and find out". Without any salutation nor greeting Dr. Mrs blurted out on the phone and swiftly ended the call without allowing any response from Mrs Anderson. I guess Nora's mother only returned the favor of how Basher banged the phone on her after reporting that her daughter was missing. "She has ended the call, she didn't allow me speak" Mrs Anderson complained to her husband. "Who?" Mr Anderson inquired. "The attorney of course Dr. Mrs Williams. She said I should see for myself. I don't know what she meant. She mentioned Basher's duplex. What could be wrong?". Mrs Anderson puzzled at the way the Williams just addressed her over the phone. "I think we should go see the boy, besides he hasn't called in days now neither did he visit us. Or did he visit you while I was away?". Mr Anderson opined and asked facing his wife. " No oo, he didn't visit nor called me too" Mrs Anderson objected. Basher's father turned the car around and headed for the Anderson's duplex bought in his son's name. The Andersons got to Basher's house and saw exactly what the Williams witnessed. "What a disgraceful child is this". Mrs Anderson angrily went into the kitchen and brought out cold water from the fridge. She sprinkled them all with the water as they all woke up. " Mom, dad what!, I deserve some privacy, you should have called me before showing up uninvited". Basher complained facing his parents. Mr. Anderson just stood there speechless, his hands at akimbo. The three girls ashamed at their positions with Basher quickly grab their scattered clothes and shoes and fled. "Whose bag is this?" Mrs Anderson asked pointing to the center table. "Its for Nora she left it behind" Basher replied. "Left it behind to where?". Basher's mum inquired searching through the bag. In the presence of Mr Anderson and Basher, she brought out the contents of Nora's bag. In the bag she found Nora's phone with series of missed calls from her parents. She also found a pregnancy strip reading positive and also in the purse was found her inhaler and test result confirming Nora was pregnant for six weeks there about. " where is she when her belongings are here?. Besides when were you going to tell us that Nora is pregnant for you?" Basher's mum asked. "I'm as shocked as you are mum I had no idea" Basher confessed. "I told her we were going out and that she should get ready, so I stepped out and before I came back she was gone". Basher replied avoiding the details of what really happened between him and Nora his fiancée. The Andersons were happy having seen the pregnancy test results " we would be grandparents soon and have grandchildren". Basher's mum blurted excitedly. " we should hasten your marriage plans, you are going to be a father soon". Basher's dad opined. "You are right honey, Nora should commence antenatal immediately". Basher's mum suggested. "We should inform the Williams of our plans as soon as possible. I guess Nora would have told her parents about the pregnancy or...do you think otherwise, since she hasn't even told you the father I doubt if her parents are aware. I think we should see the Williams as soon as possible". Mrs Anderson concluded. The Andersons all went together to see the Williams at their mansion. As soon as they entered the living room. " where is my daughter? What have you done to her?" Dr. Mrs Williams without offering the Andersons any seat furiously confronted Basher. Basher stood mute as he couldn't alter a word in response to furious Attorney Williams. "Is that not my daughter's bag?" She asked "yes she left them at Basher's place, we found out that Nora is six weeks pregnant and we came to see your family in order to hasten the marriage plans: we thought Nora had come home to see you". Basher's mum narrated. "Are you confirming that my only daughter is actually missing without anyone to give me proper explanations yet this useless boy had the effrontery to bring harlots home while your fiancée is missing?, you should all be gone before I'm back" Professor Williams angrily went into his room took his gun and headed back to the living room. The Andersons on sighting the AK 47 riffle stumbled out of the Williams mansion dropping Nora's bag and other belongings. Then the Williams later went to report their missing Nora's case and kept searching for her on radio, television and other media. Until the day Kate called Dr. Mrs. Williams informing her of the where about of Nora Silvia Williams which happened to be the day Nora is to be discharged from the hospital.
