Chapter 4 Chapter 4 Trent Is a Tough Soldier

The villa area here was about 11,500 square miles, and it was very vast at first glance. Meanwhile, each villa occupied an area of 9,000 square feet, not including its own park and private garage.

In Los Angeles, such a neighborhood had a special meaning for the elites of the upper class. There were only two kinds of people who could live here.

One of these two types of people was commercial tycoons with a fortune of at least 1.6 billion dollars who contributed to a certain local economy.

And the other type was the seniors who were involved in all kinds of lives and owned unlimited resources. Any slight movements of them could shake the entire Los Angeles.

In addition to these two types, there was another type, yet those people were rare.

They were old heroes of great significance in the mercenary world, and now they were retired and living here.

Even though some young men were born with superior backgrounds, they still did not deserve to live here. This was also the reason why the security guards at the gate of the villa were all standing straight and mighty. It looked like they had been strictly trained.

Barton was very surprised. He thought, Trent is just a bumpkin from the countryside. How dare he come to this place? Isn't he afraid of being arrested as being considered a risk?

Barton stopped the car and swaggered towards Trent with arrogant and disdainful steps. He thought, I've spent a lot of time and effort trying to woo Rosanna these past few months. Unfortunately, that loser husband of hers is so shameless that he is always in her presence at work, leaving me no chance.

I'm glad that he has brought his younger brother here. Maybe ... the man in front of me could be the perfect chance for me to get Rosanna.

With this in mind, Barton came to Trent and raised his chin. "You are Trent Brougham, the younger brother of the good-for-nothing live-in son-in-law of the Lennard family?"

Trent was about to step forward and tell the guards who he was when he heard a voice from behind him. He turned around, and his eyes immediately focused.

He thought, good-for-nothing?

He narrowed his eyes. "Watch your mouth. If you dare to humiliate my brother again, there will be consequences."

Trent didn't care who the man standing in front of him was. He thought, I am indebted to the Brougham family, and Abert has treated me as his younger brother since I was young. I'm not going to let anyone else humiliate Abert like this.

"Humph! You're young, yet you're so arrogant. You're just a bumpkin from the countryside!" Barton curled his lips in disapproval.

Barton thought, you don't dare to make a move against me at all.

You can't afford to make a scene here.

As long as I manage to provoke you, I'm sure you'll fight with the Lennard family after you go back. After all, bumpkins from the countryside are all stubborn, and you're no exception. Also, everyone in the Lennard family can't stand being humiliated, especially when it comes to their live-in son-in-law.

Maybe Rosanna will be angry enough to divorce Abert. Then I'll have my chance.

Compared with ignorant young girls fresh out of college, I prefer married, charming women, not to mention that Rosanna is so gorgeous.

Seeing that his words worked a bit, Barton continued to mock, "Come on. Your brother has become the Lennard family's live-in son-in-law. And you are cheeky enough to work in the Lennard Group relying on him! Sure enough, you two are brothers. You are the same as him. Both of you are losers and sponge off others.

"I happen to know a few rich women. If you want to, I can set you up. Otherwise, you might be introduced by the Lennard family to be some live-in son-in-law as well. Then your kids will take your wife's surname, which is precisely the case for your brother.

"What a disgrace to your ancestors!"

He laughed unscrupulously.

Yet something happened in the next second.

"Thwack!"

A loud slap rang out.

Trent slapped Barton at once and left a blood-red handprint on Barton's face immediately. Trent thought, I am the only Wolf King in Wolf Fang Mercenary. When did I ever suffer such humiliation?

A soldier can be killed but not humiliated!

"You... You hit me?" Barton widened his eyes, covered his face in disbelief, and pointed at Trent's head with his other hand.

Trent said calmly, "Another word, and I'll be glad to throw you into the river."

"You... You..." Barton's expression changed greatly.

To his surprise, Trent did make a move. He figured that Trent was utterly ignorant.

Barton sneered in his heart and immediately turned to look at the soldiers at the entrance of the villa. He shouted, "What are you waiting for? He violated the villa's security code. He broke through the gate and is a dangerous man. Put him away right now!"

The reason why this villa area was special was that the security code here was very different from other places.

Anyone who got physical within a one-street radius of the villa district would be recognized as dangerous. They would be arrested and even imprisoned.

By hitting Barton, Trent put himself at a disadvantage in an instant.

The several fully-armed soldiers guarding the entrance immediately became serious. Their blade-like eyes fell on Trent, and they were shocked.

They thought, the pressure he is emitting is so strong!

These people were all outstanding mercenaries with extraordinary combat skills. At a glance, they could tell that Trent was not to be trifled with.

They saw thick calluses on the thumb of his right hand, which was a unique mark that belonged to those with guns in their hands all year round.

Apparently, Trent was dangerous.

Swoosh!

All the soldiers drew their guns at the same time and aimed them at Trent's head.

Barton was slightly shocked when he saw this, and then he added fuel to the fire by saying, "Tie him up and send him to the police station. I'm sure he is a dangerous man. I suggest you put away his family as well."

However, Trent was still calm and collected. He slowly reached into his arms.

"Don't move!" one of the soldiers warned him loudly.

Yet Trent did not stop. His eyes were fixed on their guns. Then, under their gazes, he took out a letter of recommendation.

"Phew..." The soldiers breathed a sigh of relief. For some reason, they were scared, though what Trent did was nothing in particular.

"I came to visit Mr. Olson. This is my letter of recommendation." Trent handed the letter of recommendation to the soldier 15 feet away from him.

The soldier remained a little nervous. His whole body was tense as he received the letter of introduction. After glancing at it, he stared at Trent without blinking for a long time.

Barton mocked coldly, "You bumpkin, stop pretending! You are here to visit Mr. Olson? He is a big shot in this area. He controls vast mineral resources. Do you think you get to meet him, just because you want to? Don't believe him. He is stalling."

The corners of Trent's mouth curled up slightly. He turned his head, and his bone-chilling gaze pierced Barton.

"Thump..." Barton's whole body trembled uncontrollably, and his back was covered in a cold sweat.

The soldier nodded. "Wait a second. I'll call Mr. Olson's secretary."

"OK. Thank you," Trent said to the soldier.

The soldier hurriedly trotted into the security room and dialed a number.

"Bumpkin, wait and see. You'll be exposed soon. You are bold enough to swindle here! You are doomed." Barton still did not take Trent seriously.

Yet just as he finished speaking, the soldier quickly ran out of the security room. The nervousness on the soldier's face disappeared, and he said respectfully, "I'm sorry, sir. You can go in now. Villa No. 4, Room 502 is Mr. Olson's residence. Ms. Mcfarland is waiting for you at the door."

Barton was dumbfounded.

He opened his mouth wide, and his face was filled with disbelief.

He thought, how is this possible?

He actually...

Before he could react, he heard Trent say, "I see. Thank you. But before I go in, I have to do something." After saying that, Trent turned around and walked towards Barton.

"You... What are you doing?" Barton's expression changed greatly, and he panicked.

He wanted to retreat to distance himself from Trent. However, Trent moved quickly and was in front of him in an instant. With lightning speed, Trent grabbed Barton's neck and lifted Barton in the air easily.

"You... You dare to attack me... Are you tired of living? Let go of me!" Barton's face turned red.

"I said it already. If you insult my brother one more time, there will be consequences."

As Trent spoke, he walked to the river in front of the villa while lifting Barton, and then he tossed Barton away.

"Bang!"

"Splash!"

Trent threw Barton into the water.

After all, Trent was a tough soldier. No one got to insult him whatsoever!
