Chapter 1 Chapter 1 The Warrior King Is Back

In Washington Prison, thousands of felons were kneeling at the door.

"We are here to send you out of jail!"

Swish!

At a glance, it was pitch black. Every one of them was as strong as a beast. It was hard to imagine what kind of person could inspire such awe from a group of dominators who ruled the world outside the prison.

Yet for the young man in his humble clothes, such a scene was nothing.

"Get up. After I'm gone, behave yourselves. Remember, when you get out, serve the country. Don't do any bad things ever again."

"Yes, whatever you say."

A few minutes later, the young man arrived at the gate under the lead of the prison staff.

On the side of the road, five military jeeps stopped in front of Trent Brougham.

A middle-aged colonel stepped out of the car, walked toward Trent with a serious look, and then gave a standard military salute.

Trent immediately stood at attention, his entire body straight.

"Congratulations on your release. It's been a full five years. Finally, you, the Wolf King of Wolf Fang Mercenary, are released. What are your plans? Why don't you rejoin your unit and continue to lead those brats?" The middle-aged man took the initiative to invite Trent.

Trent said in a deep voice, "I'll pass. I'm an ex-con, and I don't want to smear Wolf Fang Mercenary."

"Smear?"

The middle-aged man glared. "Nonsense! Both Wolf Fang Mercenary and I are proud of you. So what if you were in prison? You were behind bars because you avenged your comrade's death. You didn't do any despicable things..."

"Boss."

The middle-aged man was interrupted by Trent.

"Thank you, Boss. Wolf Fang Mercenary is where I belong. I will always remember it no matter where I am. I am grateful for your help in taking care of me in prison these years. However, I have made up my mind. Just give me a chance to live my life. OK?" Trent's tone was extremely sincere.

The middle-aged man frowned. "But what about the two masters? One of them is excellent at fighting, and the other is a medical expert. Right now, both of them are in seclusion. What am I supposed to say to them once they find out you're out of the army after their seclusion ends?"

"I will explain to them myself then." Trent did not want to trouble the middle-aged man and offered.

"Alright then. You may do as you please since you've already said so. By the way, you are going to Los Angeles, right? I have a few friends there. I hope you can go and visit them for me. Here are some letters to take with you."

After that, the middle-aged man took out several prepared letters from his arms and stuffed them directly into Trent's luggage.

Trent's heart trembled slightly.

He knew that it wasn't simply visiting.

The middle-aged man standing in front of him was pulling strings to introduce some prominent figures in Los Angeles to him so that he would have a few good places to land.

"Thank you, Boss."

"Go ahead. There's no need to thank me. You crossed the border and killed those sons of bitches, and then you ended up in jail. Otherwise, the reputation of Wolf Fang Mercenary would have been ruined long ago. I should be thanking you instead," the middle-aged man sighed and turned to get into his car.

Trent thought, time flies, and we each have a road ahead.

Trent stood in situ, emotional for a long time. Then he went to the train station and headed for Los Angeles, his hometown.

...

...

Three hours later, the enthusiastic voice of a man in his thirties came from a white BMW speeding down the central streets of downtown Los Angeles.

"Trent, you are out of jail finally. Don't feel pressured. Make yourself at home after you go to my place. Though you were adopted from an orphanage by my parents, I have watched you grow up, and I think of you as my brother. You are family."

The one sitting in the driver's seat was Trent's elder brother, Abert Brougham.

Trent had been an orphan since he was young. When he was six years old, he was adopted by the Brougham family in the countryside. Everyone in the Brougham family, including Abert and his family, treated Trent as one of their own.

Trent thought of them as his family as well. Unfortunately, one year before he became a soldier, his adoptive parents ... passed away.

Only Abert was left.

"Thank you, Abert."

"No need to thank me. We are brothers. When we get home, I will bring you to see your niece. She is a cute little princess," Abert said with a doting face.

"My niece? I have no idea... Abert, you're already married and have a daughter? Why didn't you tell me earlier? I didn't prepare any gifts..."

"Gifts aren't necessary. We'll be home soon. It's fine."

As they spoke, Abert drove into a luxurious neighborhood.

Not long after, the car was parked outside a villa that looked extremely noble and modern.

"Come inside now! I have already prepared the food before I left." Abert got out of the car at once eagerly to carry Trent's luggage and took Trent to the door.

Abert took out the key and opened the door.

"Click!"

Abert gently pushed the door open, and in the next second, Trent saw a pair of curved eyebrows and sharp eyes.

At the table, a tall, beautiful woman in a professional suit, with her arms folded, sat with her legs crossed.

"Well..."

Abert was stunned. He did not expect his wife to be at home at this time.

"Rosanna... How come you are..."

"This must be your wife, right?" Trent immediately recognized who the woman was. He quickly bent down and greeted, "Hello. I am Trent Brougham."

"Of course, I know who you are. You are a scumbag who committed crimes and went to prison. I am so familiar with everything that happens in your family," Rosanna Lennard said coldly.

"Rosanna, what do you mean by this? Trent is here for the first time. Don't you think you're a bit rude?" Abert glared and reprimanded.

"Bang!"

In the next second, Rosanna snapped. She slammed the table and stood up, causing the girl in the princess dress on the sofa to tense up in fear.

"I am rude? Abert, you are the one who thinks too highly of yourself. Don't forget that you are just the live-in son-in-law of my family. Why do you think you get to drive a luxury car, live in a villa, and be a manager in a big company? It's all my family's blessing!

"Your name isn't on the deed to this villa. Are you allowed to take someone home without my permission? Were you planning on letting your scumbag brother live here if I didn't come back at noon?

"Were you?"

Trent was stunned.

He thought, what?

Abert is a live-in son-in-law?

Hearing Rosanna's words, Abert blushed immediately. He thought, you show me no respect in front of Trent, and you call him a scumbag to my face!

"Rosanna, you are too much. He is my younger brother. I don't care if you treat me like shit, but you have to respect Trent! He is my younger brother!" Abert was so angry that his arms trembled.

"Piss off! He is your younger brother, not mine. Besides, he was found on the street. Do you think I don't know? An ex-con isn't welcome in this villa. Either he leaves, or you get out with him."

Rosanna was utterly ruthless. She pointed at the door and began to kick them out.

Abert was furious.

He thought, so what if I'm a live-in son-in-law? Just because I am a live-in son-in-law, I don't even have the right to host my brother at my house for the night.

"Rosanna, you are..."

Just as Abert was about to rush toward Rosanna and be a real man for once, a bloody smell came from the sofa.

Katherine Lennard, who was only five years old, spat out a mouthful of black blood.

"Mommy... Mommy..."

Rosanna turned her head, and her expression changed drastically.

"Kathy!"

In the next second, Katherine's eyes went blank, and she collapsed on the sofa.

"This doesn't look good." Trent frowned and immediately rushed in.
