Chapter 5 5

Meisha's POV

After we talked earlier, the others immediately left because they said they still had work to do.

I just remained silent while sitting on the sofa. I'm still thinking about what they said about the stone.

They seem to be right because the days when I was alone and I saw that the stone or gemstone I was holding would suddenly light up, and monsters would also appear around me.

But what if it lights up just because of me?

I swallowed my own saliva before shaking my head. When that happens I'm dangerous.

"Meisha." I quickly looked at the behavior when he spoke. Kael.

"I'm sorry for the way I behaved towards you earlier." He was still scratching the back of his neck while saying that.

I laughed weakly. I should be the one to apologize to you because I was hiding that I was about to become a monster.

"W-that's nothing. I understand you." I said before smiling sweetly at him.

I noticed that his two eyebrows were raised and his mouth slightly open, but before I could ask him why, he immediately took a bite.

"All right. Just tell me if you need something."

I quickly nodded, "Thank you."

When Kael left, I immediately went to the window and looked out from there. It looks like I'm not in the city anymore because the surrounding area is full of trees.

The place is also so quiet that it's scary.

I noticed that someone was walking towards it. I don't know who it is but I'm sure it's not Cindy because they're here at home.

I frowned even more when they stopped not far away. I couldn't see their faces because it was dark in that part.

Just as I was about to look for a flashlight, the gemstone in my pocket suddenly lit up causing me to stop and be stunned for a moment.

D-don't tell me, the human-looking people out there... aren't really human.

I slowly looked at them again but my eyes widened when I saw one of them near the window. His head was tilted and he was still smiling.

I'm like a statue and can't move.

My heart beat faster and faster as I stared at that monster. I felt a sudden pain in my side but I couldn't react because of what happened.

Shit. Just one wrong move, I'm dead.

I trembled as I watched the monster's face change. Like Ate Mika, her body and face also cracked.

Until it splits its head in two and pulls out long tongues. I feel like vomiting.

I was surprised for a moment when I felt someone hold my hand. When I looked back to see who it was, it was just Kael. It even prompted me to keep quiet.

I immediately followed suit and held his hand tightly even though it was shaking. How can I leave this place? If I step back I might be attacked immediately.

I noticed that there seemed to be some kind of red light focused on the monster. Is that a laser?

*Bang!*

I was deafened by the loud gunshots. At the same time, the monster disappeared causing Kael to pull me to sit down.

Meisha's POV

"...sha!"

"Meisha!"

I was immediately brought back to my senses when Kael touched both of my shoulders.

"Let's go! We are dangerous here!" he said before pulling me away.

I even heard gunshots one after the other which made me even more afraid. But Kael kept pulling me until we reached the kitchen.

Just as we got there, Peter and Finn immediately followed with guns in their hands. The gunshot seems to have come from her earlier.

"Meisha, are you okay?" asked Cindy.

"Y-yes, I'm just surprised." I answered immediately.

Kloe immediately came to us and separated Kael and I's hands. He quickly faced his Big Brother.

"Brother, are you alright? Nothing hurts you, right?" This is a worrying question.

"Nothing." It answered immediately.

Kloe suddenly turned to me with a frown, "You can see that the monster is outside, you haven't left yet. Are you stupid?"

W-what?

"Chloe!" Seia quickly scolded him and grabbed his arm.

"Stop now. It is not good that you are still fighting in the middle of what is happening." Kael said. "Peter, get our car ready. You, Finn, take the girls to the car."

"How are you?" Cindy asked worriedly.

Kael immediately grabbed her head before ruffling her hair, "Don't worry about me, I'll follow." He said before leaving.

I was surprised when Seia grabbed my hand and pulled me to go to the car. It looks like they made this passage in case something like this happens.

"Get on board. I'll just help Ka-"

"Not allowed. Stay here. Peter needs you here." Seia immediately grabbed him while holding his hand.

Finn did nothing and just waited outside. We were all silent and only our breath was heard. Next, gunshots were still fired inside the house, which means that Kael is still alive.

"Ugh!" I moaned softly as I felt my lungs getting hotter.

This is also one of the symptoms when you become a monster.

"It's Kael!" Cindy suddenly revived when she saw that Kael was leaving the house but I was surprised when he suddenly lit a match and threw it inside the house causing the house to explode.

I covered my ears and bent down when I heard the explosion. Some people have thrown things everywhere because of this.

"Let's go!" Kael said when he got close to us and got into the car.

Peter immediately started the car and drove fast. I even looked at the house that exploded. Their place of residence is gone.

I frowned when I noticed that someone walked out of that house. I don't know but I was horrified when I saw him staring at me and grinning.

I immediately took my eyes off that and held my hand. Why do I feel like that monster knows me?

Meisha's POV

I don't know but I feel like I suddenly got worse after staring at that monster. But maybe it's normal because everyone is terrified when a monster grins at you, right?

"Meisha, why don't you sleep first?" I quickly looked at Seia when he asked me that. "I'm worried because you haven't recovered yet, something happened again." He added.

I want to say I'm fine to make her feel better. But with the way I look now, I might not be able to hide it right away.

I tried to smile, "Ahm.. I'm not sleepy. Then you don't have to worry."

He just looked at me seriously before caressing my forehead. He opened his mouth a little before taking out a handkerchief from his pocket.

"I knew it. Just based on your face, it's obvious that you still have a scar." he said before handing me the handkerchief. "This is all I have because of a sudden event. But when you start sweating, just wipe it off."

Why does it make sense? I feel even more guilty because I don't tell them what my situation really is now.

"Thank you." I said before wiping my face.

We have been traveling for several hours, so some of us have already fallen asleep. As for me, my eyes are still wide open. I can't sleep because I feel like I'm going to have another bad dream.

I sighed and leaned my head against the car window. We had our lights off to make sure the monster couldn't catch us. Peter also drove slowly to make sure we were safe.

As I looked outside, everything that happened suddenly came to my mind. How the monster will attack us and how they will eat people.

I hugged myself because of the horror. When I think about what those animals did, I feel like my stomach will turn again and I will vomit.

But I can't just be like this. What if one day someone attacks me without them? It was just a miracle that happened to me before.

I gasped when my side suddenly tingled. I quickly grabbed it and pressed the hand.

"Shit." I said trembling before clinging to the chair.

The longer it goes on, the more it hurts. If it takes longer, I might not be able to hold back. I bit my lower lip as I felt like I was about to cry.

It hurts!

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I also leaned my body on the backseat and tried to calm myself down.

I don't know how many hours I was waiting for it until I realized that the ride we were riding had stopped. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Peter as if he was having problems.

"Why do we stop?" Finn asked.

"We ran out of gas. We haven't put any extras on the back yet. Annoying!" Peter snorted before punching the steering wheel.

Their voices seemed to echo for me. I don't know but my breathing seems to be getting heavier. I also feel that my body is getting hot.

"In that case, we really have no choice.. wake up those who are sleeping. We will walk." Kael said and got out of the car first.

I hear that one by one the others complained just because of waking them up caused me to be irritated. Too much noise! They just keep repeating what they say!

"Ugh!" I moaned softly before covering my ears. It's like I'm deaf!

"Meisha? Aren't you going out yet?" I quickly stopped moaning when I heard Finn's voice.

I didn't just look at it, "I-I'm going out." I stammered.

My hand was still shaking as I slowly opened the door. When I got out of the car, I was surprised when someone suddenly covered my mouth and nose.

"Don't inhale the air. There might be chemical gas here." Kael said causing me to immediately nod.

It said something else but I couldn't understand it because of the echoes I was hearing. Deafening!

"I will remove my hand. Make sure you cover your mouth and nose immediately." He added the reason to irritate me even more.

I don't know but my head hurts more when I hear someone talking.

I just felt that Kael slowly removed his hand causing me to immediately cover my mouth. I even noticed that he was watching me because I immediately turned my back on him and faced the car.

But it was like cold water was poured on me when I saw myself at the window. Y-my eyes..

I was more and more confused when I saw that my eyes were getting red. W-what's happening to me? Why is it like this? h-it's not possible.

When they see me like this they might think I'm just pretending to be a human. I have to find a way. My eyes can't be like this anymore.

"Meisha, what are you staring at- *Crash!*" I heard Cindy gasp when she saw me hit my head on the glass causing it to break.

My knocking was just weak but it broke right away? Could this be one of the side effects when you gradually turn into a monster?

I felt a liquid rush to my face causing me to touch it. But I didn't even seem surprised when I saw my blood.

It's like I'm used to it.

Meisha's POV

Blood kept dripping from my head causing my other companions to panic. Seia immediately approached me and grabbed my shoulder.

"Meisha! What are you thinking?! Are you going crazy? Why did you hit yourself through the window?!" I heard it scream.

Oh It no longer echoes. My side doesn't hurt anymore and I can't feel the pain in my forehead either.

I looked at Seia before the broken glass on my foot. The redness in my eyes seems to have disappeared.

Could it be because of what I saw?

I immediately smirked at the loss before looking back at Seia, "Looks like I just need to see blood to get rid of the pain in my body." I said before laughing softly.

But Seia didn't seem to like that and quickly let me go. I also saw surprise and horror in his eyes.

"M-Meisha...?" He stammered, causing me to look at him, but I was surprised when a palm touched my cheek.

He slapped me so hard that I was stunned.

"Have you lost your mind?! Wake up Meisha!" it shouted at me.

I immediately frowned. I don't know but I feel like something is wrong with my body and my actions. But...

"What I said is true. I don't lose my mind." I said to him seriously.

It was closed tightly before going to the car and taking the handkerchief I had left there. He approached me before wiping my face and covering my wound with a handkerchief.

It was obvious from his face that he was only holding his breath to bandage my forehead wound, causing me to straighten up.

I also noticed the faces of my companion who couldn't believe it. It was as if they had just seen such an event.

I don't even know why I did that. I just feel that when that happens, something will change.

But what's more surprising is my attitude. Instead of crying, I was like happy.

Both of my eyebrows were raised when Kael approached me. He just frowned looking at me. I'm sure he will scold me too.

Who is so stupid as to knock himself out of the window? Of course I am haha.

I saw Kael raise his hand causing me to close my eyes. I thought it would hit me but it didn't. Instead, he grabbed me by the hand and pulled me.

"I'm sure it's because of what happened to you that you're like that. I won't even ask why you did that stupid thing." He said the reason for me to look at his face.

There was no expression as if I was just standing on a big wall talking.

"Wait?" I frowned as he piggybacked me.

"Don't complain." He said more.

I didn't say a word anymore and slowly hugged his neck so he wouldn't fall. I also made sure I didn't choke on it while walking.

But I noticed that Cindy and I were constantly looking at each other. And I know why he is acting like that.

Just based on how Kael and Cindy treat each other as if someone is intervening between them. But he has nothing to worry about because I have no intention of ruining the relationship.

"Tch." I just snorted in the absence of a reason for Kael to look at me.

He just frowned while looking at me and as if he was wondering what I was doing. If he prioritizes looking at the road first?

"Why?" I said before covering my mouth and nose again.

Shit. How long has my nose been uncovered?

"I don't know if it's right that we took you with us. We don't know anything about you and my other colleagues don't trust you yet." He said before turning his gaze back to the road. "I know it hurts to hear this for you. But we can't really avoid it being like that."

I was silenced by what he said and just looked at the road again. I was also a little hurt by what he said but that's okay because maybe in a few days I'll really become a monster.

"It's better not to trust me anymore. It will make me feel better." I said before yawning and leaning my head on his shoulder.

I even felt that it stopped walking for a while but I didn't think about it anymore. I'm too sleepy.
