CHAPTER 3.1

Meisha's POV

*shhrk* *Shhrk!*

What's that noise?

*Shrek* *Shrek!*

Is someone-huh? Why is there no voice coming out of me?

I tasted it again and again and tried to speak, but nothing really came out.

"Meisha..." I immediately turned around at the behavior of the person who called me.

A woman standing with her head bowed. At first, I wondered which woman it was, but when I saw her office clothes there, I realized who she was.

I was about to approach Ate Mika when I realized that I couldn't move my whole body.

Something appeared in his hand causing my eyes to widen. Turn a knife..

Ate Mika gave me a scary grin before raising her hand holding a knife, "Die!" it shouted before running to me quickly.

My heart beat faster as I watched it approach me.

Sister Mika..."DO NOT!"

I quickly opened my eyes and accompanied it with heavy breathing. I immediately looked around before looking at the sky.

It's night.

I took a deep breath and was about to get up when I felt a pain in my leg. I wondered if I had been bitten on the foot but it didn't seem to be.

That's why I immediately reached into my pocket and took out my cellphone. Fortunately, before I left the convenience store earlier, I picked it up.

As soon as I opened my cellphone, I immediately breathed a sigh of relief. No password.

I immediately went to the settings and turned on the flashlight. When I was about to focus the flashlight on my foot, I was terrified.

"W-what the hell?" It was like all my hair stood up when I saw the situation of my feet.

Some kind of insect has landed here and is sucking my blood from my foot one after another. That's why it hurts because of these insect pests.

But why do they look like this? Disgusting. More disgusting than a leech.

I screamed loudly before shaking my leg causing those insects to leave. I still heard a rustling, so I immediately looked at its behavior.

There I saw other insects crawling towards me. I faintly cursed and immediately took the rest of my belongings before standing up and leaving that place.

Even though I felt pain in my body, I still tried to get out of that place. I can't handle it if I die like that.

I don't want that.

Meisha's POV

When I made sure I was away from that place, I immediately rested in a corner where there was a light. Somehow I'm safe in this light.

Even though I know there are still monsters around.

"Ugh!" I moaned weakly as my leg started to hurt. It seems like every hour I'm running out of energy.

I don't know how long I'll last if it happens again.

I sat in a corner where I couldn't be seen before putting down my other things. I also held my breath to replace my face mask with a hole.

After that, I chewed the food that was left for me. 2 biscuits and a mineral water. wow I am very lucky indeed.

I just shook my head before opening a biscuit and taking a piece from it. It has three fillings so if I eat one piece of biscuit filling a day, it might last me a week.

But the water... I held my breath. It was less than half full. Will it take up to three days?

I just didn't think about it and just ate. I am very hungry. I haven't had anything to eat since noon, so this one piece isn't really enough for me.

When I finished that one piece, I immediately chineck my wounds. I only got a minor injury to my leg, but my hand. I don't know, it's a second burn degree.

"I really should have followed Ate and entered Med School. I wish now I could do something about my wound." I still complained while tearing a piece of cloth from my t-shirt.

I wrapped it around my hand and foot to prevent infection from the chemical gas again. When I finished what I was doing, I immediately leaned against the wall and looked up at the sky.

I thought about everything that happened today. I also have questions that cannot be answered right away. Like how did it all turn out like this? Where do monsters come from? Sister Mika... why did she become like that?

I feel that all my questions have only one answer. I just don't know what it is.

The next day, at five o'clock in the morning, I immediately walked everywhere. I don't know where I'm going, as long as the only thing on my mind right now is to find a safe place or a place to stay.

But as a few days passed, I gradually felt my body falling. I ran out of water and all that was left was a piece of biscuit filling.

I am very weak. I've been walking around for a few days, hoping that I'll find someone else who survived the apocalypse, but so far, nothing.

I stopped for a moment when I saw my pocket light up. When I asked what it was, I immediately frowned.

This is the stone that appeared after Ate's body disappeared. What's in it?

"Ugh! My head hurts!" I groaned as my head suddenly throbbed with pain. It looks like it's going to explode with so much pain.

My breathing also became heavy and I seemed to lose my balance little by little, causing me to fall to the ground. Even though my eyes are slowly getting blurry, I can still see the light of the stone until I slowly lose consciousness..

Someone's POV

"Guys, this is the only food Seia and I found in a house. You?" Finn immediately asked us.

I saw this plastic bag that must have only food.

"We have a medical kit and clothes." Peter said before pointing at Kloe who was snorting as she carried the things they had found.

It seems to be enough for our few days of travel. I nodded to myself before picking up the gun and preparing myself.

"Since you are done with your task. We will leave. Watch the car." I bought it from them before looking at Cindy who was fixing things. "Come on, Cindy. I don't want the night to catch up with us."

It's dangerous at night. We couldn't see the road because of the smoke. We also don't know when monsters will attack as well as insect pests that crave our blood.

"Brother Kael." I turned to Kloe when she called my name, "Please, take care of yourself."

The worry on his face was obvious, which made me cringe. I approached her and ruffled her hair.

"I will." I said before smiling and starting to leave.

Kloe is my only family left after what happened in this place. He is my twin that I cherish the most.

"Kael, what are we looking for here?" Cindy asked me while looking at the road.

I kicked a tire that was blocking our path before looking at him, "I want to find another weapon that we can use in case we see a monster."

"And when we don't see anything?"

I raised one eyebrow and laughed softly at him, "What kind of question is that? Of course, we'll be right back in the car." I said.

I heard him sigh and mumble something but I didn't pay any attention to that and looked around for a weapon. But I was stunned when I saw a human reflection.

Is it human? They might as well be a monster.

"Cindy, get your gun ready." I said seriously while slowly walking closer to that person.

"Wait? What invited-"

"Shh.." I signaled to him before pointing to the person in the distance.

We walked slowly and hid in a car. We waited to see what would happen to him, but he just stood there and seemed to be watching something.

I squinted my eyes to better see what he was looking at. I quickly frowned when I saw that thing.

That's the gemstone we found among the monsters we killed. We call that thing Gemstone because it's similar to the online games we play.

Sounds funny, right?

"We should kill her now. Maybe what else he can do to us!" Cindy whispered to me.

"No. Let's wait." I said while watching what the person or whatever he was going to do next.

I frowned when I saw that it looked like it was carrying some pain. What happened to him?

I thought it was just a bait for the monster to catch us, so I immediately told Cindy that we were leaving, when suddenly...

"Oh my gosh!" Cindy covered her mouth while looking at that person's behavior.

I swallowed my own saliva before looking at that person. From here, I could see the lying woman. The light on the stone also disappeared, which is why I immediately frowned.

Does that mean he is human?

I immediately let go of my gun and didn't think twice about approaching it.

"Cindy! Watch over us both!" I said before running quickly to approach the woman who was lying on the road.

Shit. I thought he wasn't human that's why I thought of just leaving him alone.

When I approached him, I could see his wounds in different parts of his body. Some of them were wrapped in cloth and others were obviously brand new.

It also looks pale. The heck? It's like I feel guilty about what I thought about him earlier.

I sighed before taking the stone he was holding and putting it in my pocket. I looked at him before approaching and picking him up.

There I felt the warmth of his body. Really hot. I looked at his face, the tiredness was obvious on his face.

"What happened to you?" I just said in vain while staring at his face that was struggling.
