"Yes, especially now that I have limited time on earth. It will be an honor to learn what killed my parents. No one has ever talked about that openly to me before."
"Not even your stepmom?''
"Yeah, not even her. So would you mind?''
"I can't tell you everything from a distance. But if you insist then, I can tell you a part of it. Olivia, your parents did not die of a natural cause, they were murdered by someone very close to you. It will break your heart to find out the very woman you call your stepmother was, in fact, the real killer."
"You mean Catharina killed my parents? This makes no sense at all. I know how much I have suffered under her, but I won't forget the fact that I grew up under her watch,'' Olivia doubted.
"But she killed your parents, Olivia?'' Insisted the voice.
For some unknown reason, she wanted to believe the voice. Nevertheless, she pushed on a little further. "Why will she kill my parents and then adopt me as her daughter? Do you see why I said this makes no sense at all?''
"Hahahaha.... Does this make no sense? Is that what you have to say, Olivia? Maybe you need to see for yourself the depth of what I'm telling you."
"How will I know that?'' She asked inquisitively.
"What if Catherina had adopted you on a purpose? What if your presence in this wolf prison has a connection to your adoption?'' The voice pressed on.
"Wait! What are you talking about?"
"Come closer, Olivia, and see what I'm talking about. Come to the pot of the whole truth and I will dish for you some portion of it. Come on now, come Olivia.'' The voice tried to lure her closer again. As if Olivia had been hypnotized, she obeyed her brains and her great curiosity. She began walking towards the source of the voice in the darkness. "That's right Olivia, you are doing the right thing. Come a little closer honey," continued the voice.
Just then, a hand grabbed her neck and choked her so tightly that she screamed in pain. She felt some fangs getting ready to pierce through her delicate neck. 'Is this the end of her poor life?' She thought.
Olivia struggled with all her strength to set herself free from the grip of the unknown creature. At the slightest opportunity she had, she escaped and panted nonstop for a while.
"Who are you?'' Olivia began in anger. "Why are you trying to kill me?'' But, the voice remained silent and was still hiding in the dark. "Show your face at once!''
A creature came out of the dark to the illuminated part of the Wolf prison. Olivia at last, could see the creature. An old woman with a lot of dry grey hair and a much-veined body. "That could have been your perfect opportunity to free yourself from this misery but, you screwed up. I could have set you free just like I have done to so many people who have been here before you. Hahahaha....!"
Shocked and afraid of what she was seeing, Olivia walked back while the old woman followed her trail as if she were going after Olivia. "In the name of God, what in the hell are you?''
"I am the one you would wish to see in your lifetime, Olivia. Now stop drifting away from me! I can end all your pain just with a bite. You can thank me later."
"Is this your way of setting people free? By killing them? You must be sick!''
"You see, Olivia, it's not what you think. No one makes it out here alive. You are the only one to have ever escaped from my grip. I'm still baffled at how you did that. No one has done that to me before! Why do you make me starve Olivia? Just stand still and don't move again!''
Sensing danger, Olivia moved some steps backward but, the old lady charged at her. She tried to grab Olivia with all her strength this time but, she was sadly limited by the heavy chains around her waist. Olivia could see the heavy chains around her waist at the same time.
"Stay right there!'' She cried desperately as she couldn't get to Olivia.
"Who are you again?" She couldn't contain her curiosity anymore. "A killer, a witch, or a werewolf?''
"I'm none of that, Olivia. I'm Demusa. I know you have already heard of this name before?''
"I don't believe you, old woman. If you are Demusa you shouldn't be alive by now. Demusa was long dead before my great-grandmother was born. According to legend; she used to be the most powerful vampire mistress before she was deposed by the wolves in the great battle which took place at Gallia. ''
"Hahahaha! I am the one you speak of! I was never killed but was kept in everlasting suffering." She started crawling back into the darkness.
"Wait! Don't go yet,'' Olivia told her. Demusa halted her apparent movement back to her seclusion. "If you are who you claim to be then, you must be three hundred years old. How possible?"
Demusa came forward again. However, there was no aggressive advance this time around. "I'm more than three hundred years old. I have been around for a long time. What pains me more is that I have spent half of my whole life here. I came very close to setting myself free a few minutes ago, but you denied me that."
"How? Will my death set you free?'' Olivia asked inquisitively.
