Chapter 5 Butler

Terra had told the king about the incident in the farm land, it sounded unbelievable Japhet had promised to go talk with discord just to ease her doubt and fear about today.

"My lady The king is here" a maiden had informed knocking on the door. little discord, who had refused to come out to the royal dinning, the family was having their dinner and the maids had informed the king that the princess discord had refused to come out. Discord couldn't refuse to see the king so she opened the door, for him.

Japhet entered into the room, his eyes were fixed on his daughter who had decided to starve herself "what wrong my dear" he asked gesturing for her to come close, but she refused... Japhet was amazed at how this little event could change his sweet fearless daughter into a scared little kitten.

"I don't want to hurt you" she said as hot tears dropped down from her eyes , Japhet felt his heart melt, he stood up and went to hug her, he rubbed her back to ease her little sobs, "it wasn't your fault, the horse was definitely injured somewhere " he consoled her

Later that day discord joined the family dinner and they all went to bed.

Years had passed and the kingdom had grown bigger, in wealth, allies and power.... Japhet had aged quite well and was now ready anytime to descend the throne. The kingdom now were in need of new butler's, so they put out an opportunity for commoners to quickly apply.

"What your name" the head of the king staff had asked, he looked at the man who looked very tattered and low looking, but there was something strange about him, that the kings staff couldn't put his hands on.

"Gaius" the man responded

"Gaius, what?" The king staff asked in an impatient manner

"Gaius Moira" he answered "what your qualifications, do you think you can work for the king and the palace" he asked

"Certainly, I've worked for kings, lords, and rulers all my life" Gaius explained, the king servant was amazed at his reply, infact he found him to be hilarious, "you sound interesting" he said

"Okay, you are in ...take him to the staff quarters and prepare him for the royal dinner" he handed Gaius to a worker who ..signaled to Gaius to follow him.

Gaius had been to the palace severally but was always in his demon form, agetha had told him to never take his eyes of discord which he had never done. He has been watching her grow, even to this point, now he felt he should be in the palace in other to be more close to her, especially now she had turn eighteen, her powers would amplify. Gaius follow the worker to his quarter, it was quite far from the King's quarter including his children, but for Gaius it was never far...he could see far from were he was. It was evening and Gaius was called to assist in the palace kitchen, he was put in charge of the meals they were making. The kings staff had come to try out the meals he made before it got to the king and his family during their dinner. He was amazed at how delicious it tasted, he looked a Gaius who smiled back at him he wondered how he was this good at preparing over ten meals in a shot period of time. "serve it to the royal dinning room" he ordered and it was immediately taken to the king and his family.

During the dinner the royal family were seated including discord, Gaius was asked to go to the dinning room in order for the king to taste his food and praise the king staff for his efficient efforts in searching for the best cook.

"Queen Jenny had ordered a glass mirror made of jade stones for me" she said smiling, probably it would help her see how beautiful she had become, the queen discussed while they ate, no one responded except the king "that's so thoughtful of her" he smiled , Sophia had looked at discord who was busy eating "discord when is your graduation ceremony" Zeke asked looking at her, discord dropped her spoon and wiped her mouth with a table napkin " it tomorrow, I would prefer to go alone mother and father" she said moving her focus to her parents

Who was shocked at her request, shouldn't she be asking them to go with her? Why was she telling them not to attend her ceremony. Sophia laughed mockingly as she looked at Annabelle who smiled " you don't even have to ask , none of us had ever had our parents go with us to our graduation ceremony" zeke nodded "thats true" joel said staring at discord, the whole atmosphere felt like, everyone were against discord. The king signaled all of them, to all keep quiet which they did; he then turn to look at discord who was quite " why don't you want your parents to attend your ceremony, you should be asking us to attend, it is honour to have your father the king at a ceremony" he mentioned terra was quite she felt guilty about how her children were behaving towards discord, it was all her fault, if only she had payed more attention to them, this whole strive wouldn't never have occurred.

"They are right, you and mother never attended any of their graduation ceremonies, why should mine be different " she asked looking at terra her mother, who looked at her with a pleading look, Japhet heaved a heavy sigh...and said " i will attend your graduation ceremony with the queen" everyone was shocked at his announcement including discord "but father, that not fair " Annabelle protested "this only shows how you despise and hate us" she stood up staring at japhet who was amazed at how she would disrespect him "what wrong in attending your sisters graduation ceremony?" He asked "everything" it was Sophie who stood up "she have stolen everything from us, including our childhood memories " she shouted

Joel stood up and tried to calm Sophie " I never did so" discord responded, she had never spoken or replied them whenever she was being accused " I did nothing wrong she looked at Sophie who glared at her with uttermost hatred

"Oh really" she rolled her eyes "enough " Japhet shouted. Everyone became calm " how dare you respond to me in that manner, you disrespect your own father in front of his subject" he shouted this time standing up "my lord" terra tried to calm him down, but he shot her out " we are all going to that ceremony tomorrow and that is final" he said and walked out of all of them. Discord was sad about the outcome of their dinner, it had never ended well.

"I'm sure your happy this is all happening " Annabelle had said " sometimes I wonder were you came from, because your certainly not from our mother's womb" bella had uttered those words with so much disgust and was glad when she saw a tear fall from the side of discord eyes "bella" her mother had stopped her " what? ...you have shunned me all my entire life, you treat the rest of us like we are nothing" she continued staring at her mother " but today you will never shut me up or anyone of us, because of..of this thing " she sized discord up with her hands and walked away. Terra was shocked at the attitude bella was displaying, Sophie followed suite leaving just Joel and zeke at the dinning, Gaius was watching the whole time, zeke stood up and bowed to his mother without saying a word and left, they all new he wasn't happy but as a well trained prince he would conceal his feelings. Joel looked at his mother and then discord , he stood up heaving a sigh...."I would take my leave" he bowed and left without waiting for a response.

Discord had decided to return to her room... She turned to look at her mother who refused to look back at her , she hated herself even more " I'll leave now" she bowed then walked away.

Discord left to the garden, it was her favorite place in the palace, it had beautiful memories of her and her mother . It also had a lovely and colourful site, with all the plants that were planted and preserved for it beauty.

She walked closely to the rose's , it was all red and beautiful, discord had inhaled some of it fresh scent and was moved to pluck one for herself, she had reached out for one of the rose's when it suddenly withered ; terrible fear gripped her heart, this was the second time she had touched something that was perfectly fine but had ended badly, what was this? Was she cursed? She started panicking what would she do?

"My princess the queen gift has arrived, and the queen request your presence in her chamber" a maiden had called for her attention " I would be there " she answered the maid bowed herself and left. Discord tried calming herself down before heading to her mother's chamber, she couldn't stop thinking of how fast it took the rose to wither, she also couldn't forget how loud the scream of the pony was, when it bone broke beyond repair. She had gotten to the chamber, she calmed herself down again and knocked.

"My lady the princess discord is here" she heard the maiden announce " send her in" terra responded " yes my lady" the maiden came and opened the door for discord " the queen has invited you in " the maiden bowed as she rushed her into the queens inner chambers.

"Leave us" terra smiled as she saw her daughter's reflection through the jade mirror "how pretty do you look on a daily basis" she turned to look at discord who had her hair fall accross her shoulders, he was indeed the definition of a perfect beauty, her brown eyes were perfectly paired , her red cherry lips were placed in an enticing manner, her long legs were strong and beautiful, she wore a violent velvet dress, that was covered in glitters. Terra had found this her daughter to be more beautiful that all of her daughters.
