"You're still screaming, Eddie," I commented to him when we were walking at the same level.
I even bowed down to greet the teachers we met. We are only rewarded with a smile.
"Didn't I tell you that we should go home together?"
"But our paths are different, Eddie," I said and we finally got out of the university we were attending.
During my three years as a student, he was the only person I really talked to. I don't really know why he is still my classmate.
"I mean we're just going out of the university," he excused to which I just nodded because that was his only reason. "Why aren't you waiting for me, Lorainne? We should always be together. are you not my friend? That's not what you think of me, huh? I'm still telling them that I'm your best friend, but you don't seem like that," he said sullenly and bumped my shoulder.
"Not really, ah. I also consider you a friend and I just go out earlier than you. You're tall, you have long legs and I know you can chase me," I reasoned out so he wouldn't sulk anymore because he thought he wasn't my friend.
I am also with him who is comfortable and easy to talk to.
"I brought my bicycle. I can carry you, Lorainne," he said. I shook my head.
"You'll only get away if you take me and then-" I was stunned when my eyes caught a tall man with his arms crossed on his chest and he was also leaning on his black hummer.
His attention was on us as if he had been watching. I could immediately feel the coldness of his gaze. I really don't know why he is like this.
"Oh, why are you stunned, Lorainne? Do you have a problem?" Eddie asked me in surprise and followed what I had been watching with his eyes. "Just wait. That man's face seems familiar to me," he said and adjusted his glasses. "What is that... Si... Engineer Brilliantes. He was the one who handled Papa's project!" he happily exclaimed and I couldn't stop him from approaching that man.
I scratched my eyebrows because I found out the man's job. Is he an engineer? Meanwhile, what I thought of him was that he was just a driver for Attorney Franklin. It turns out that his job is even higher than that of a driver. After all, being a driver is an honorable job. But I didn't expect him to be an engineer.
I just approached the two of them because I saw them shaking hands with each other. But this engineer still glanced at me when he saw me walking towards them.
Eddie also noticed me and I was even more shocked when he just put his arm around me.
"It's Lorainne Angeles, Engineer. He is my best friend. She's beautiful, isn't she? He is also the top of our class, he is smart and our rock in the department. He even skips the fourth year of college." I removed his arm from my left shoulder, but he only pulled me closer to him and tightened his hold on me even more.
I was suffocating because his arm was heavy and I couldn't breathe anymore.
I then saw the tension in the jaw of the man in front of us and coldly looked at Eddie.
"Just wait, Eddie. I'm choking on you, eh. Let me go first," I complained and I removed his arm.
"Lorainne, she is-"
"Let me introduce myself to him," he cut her off. Eddie just scratched the back of his neck and shrugged.
"Alright," Eddie simply answered.
I was still staring at his hand that he had done this three times but I was still really amazed because of his long fingers and the white ones. "I'm Denbrill Arkun Brilliantes. Nice to meet you, Miss?"
I accepted that before I said my name. "Lorainne Angeles."
I was surprised when he turned my palm and brought it close to his mouth to gently kiss it. I could feel his warm lips on the back of my hand and then he carefully pulled me closer to him.
His arm wrapped around my waist at the same time as he kissed the side of my lips and I was deafened by the force of the pounding on my chest.
I even heard Eddie's heavy breathing when he saw that. He didn't let me go and he really hugged me.
"Wow... What are you doing with Lorainne? Why did you kiss her and hug her, Engineer?" Eddie asked in surprise.
"She's my fiancé and I'm picking her up," he said and Eddie's jaw dropped immediately.
"Huh?! seriously?! Fiancé? As in Lorainne is your girlfriend?! Lorainne is too young to have a boyfriend and her parents just died last month!" I still closed my eyes at the strength of his voice. He will be really surprised by what he finds out.
And it's been a month since my parents died and I accepted Papa's first option but what I didn't expect was that he would pick me up here at our school. He really knows something about me.
"We planned to have a child though," he promised directly and because of that I elbowed him. Why did he say that to Eddie? How embarrassing! Really, oh?!
"What?! Wait, Lorainne is still 18! Aren't you older than Lorainne?" It's like Eddie is actually doing an interview, oh.
"So what?" the engineer asked emotionlessly.
"Go ahead, Eddie. Go home, we'll talk tomorrow," I said and his muzzle lengthened.
"Can I ride? I just want to know what really happened to you. That's why you two are lovers all of a sudden," he said full of curiosity. Engineer Denbrill sighed.
"I'll be the one to tell you the story, Eddie. Come on, you'll keep pedaling, eh," I continued to drive away.
"All right. We can take you," he said and Eddie said yes.
"But you have a bicycle, Eddie."
"All right. We can bring it
