Chapter 4 You know me

CHAPTER FOUR

AUDREY'S POV

Joseph calling my home to tell my mom that we had a meeting tonight was unacceptable. Keep my mom out of everything.

"I know him mom, he's my boss and boyfriend" I told her, whispering the last part quietly.

"What was that honey?"

"Nothing mum, he's my boss at the cafe and there's something I needed to speak to him about.

"Ohhh alright"

"Yeah"

I freshened up and dressed in a cute brown leather skirt and a collared baby pink shirt. I tied my long dark hair in a ponytail. I dusted my face with a little bit of powder, applied mascara to my eyelashes, tinted my lips pink with my pink lip gloss and I was good to go. I liked Dylan, he was my boss at the club and he was very cool. He let me wear what I wanted, not Joseph, that creep made us wear extra tight shirts that popped our tits out. I picked up my brown purse and wore my favorite scent before leaving my room.

"Bye mom" I said, walking out the door

"Hey, don't forget your dinner, '' mom yelled from the living room.

I rushed to the kitchen and picked it up and headed out to work

"Love you" I yelled from the door

"Love you too baby" I heard her say before I left the house.

I got to the club a little around 6:30pm. My shift starts at 7pm. I wore my apron around waist and got ready to work

"Hey Auds"

"Dylan, it's so nice to see you again" I said, hugging Dylan. He was injured while trying to separate a fight last week and it's good to see he's back to work now.

"Yes Auds, I'm not so easy to get rid of" he said, rubbing the back of his neck

"I wouldn't want you out of my sight then" I said tapping my index finger on his cheek

"Really?" He said with an emotion I couldn't understand but just ignored.

"Yes" I told him with a smile

"That's sweet, thanks auds, that means a lot to me" Dylan responded.

It was around 9pm when business was in full swing. My phone rang and I saw it was Joseph.

I rolled my eyes before picking it up.

"What do you want Joseph" I said as I picked it up

"Hello to you too Audrey" he smugly said

"Joseph I'm busy now, please go straight to the point" I said, almost losing it with him

"Thought we agreed to meet up tonight, where are you?"

"I'm at work mister, and we never agreed on anything. I told you I'd be at work tonight, that means I can't make it to your place."

"That club is your workplace?" He said amused

"Yes and I make money from it, which I need". How rude can one person be?.

"I can give you that money baby, just come over". Alright that was it. I've lost my cool now

"Joseph, I'm breaking up with you, I've had enough, I don't even like you to begin with, you're rude, arrogant and a pervert, and also don't ever speak to my mom again". I said sternly and hung up.

"What an idiot" I huffed out

"Joseph troubles?" said Dylan from behind me. Didn't know he was there.

"Yes, I broke up with his pompous ass"

"Good job Audrey, I'm proud of you" he said, holding his fist up for a fist bump.

"Thanks Dylan" I said

"By the way, you need a shave" I yelled out, referring to his facial hair which has grown past a mustache,as I carried my tray of drinks for delivery.

"Ugh, you don't like the new look?"

"No Dylan, I like my men clean shaven" I yelled out with a smile

"Will do, auds"

It was 2:45 am and I was exhausted as hell. I've been on my feet all through, the club was packed today.

"You should head home Auds, you look like shit" Dylan said to me, laughing.

"Same brother" I said sticking out my tongue at him

"Cute" he said laughing his ass off in that deep voice of his.

I picked up my bag, ready to head out, I was done for the day.

I usually walk home through the alley every day but it was long and dangerous. Mom always warned me against it and I was too tired tonight, maybe tomorrow.

I took the route from the park, which was pitch dark tonight. Probably one of those rough kids from rich homes have vandalized it. Typical rich kids I thought with an eye roll.

I kept on walking, paying attention not to trip and fall on my face.

"Come to laugh at me with your lover?" I heard an angry deep voice say

"I'm sorry, I'm just heading home, it's all dark, I didn't know someone was here" I said, trying my best to get away from this drunk homeless person.

I heard footsteps and I inwardly cursed those rough kids. I could feel a presence and I perceived the smell of lavender. Strange choice for a man

"I warned you Freya, I am not a man to be messed with, I loved you, I did everything for you. I was a fool for you". He spat the last part out, while gripping my forearms tightly

"Please sir, I am not Freya, I am Audrey, and I don't know you sir, please let me go. I won't tell anybody" I begged him, at this point I was very scared for my life.

"You don't know me Freya?" He said laughing sarcastically now.

At this point, I knew this wouldn't end well and I had to thread carefully.

"Sir please, I beg you let me go, I swear I don't know you"

"But you followed me here Freya, you came to me. YOU KNOW ME" he gritted out, I could perceive the alcohol from his breathe

"Somebody help me please" I yelled out before I felt the impact of a smack across my face as I fell to the ground.

"Come here Freya, two can play this game of yours" he said, grabbing me and leading me to the deeper part of the park.

I knew at that point, my life would never remain the same.
