Chapter 3 ♡✿ Fired ✿♡

"Mira, please stop crying. He's a jerƙ!! He doesn't deserve you, he doesn't deserve your precious tears. I don't like seeing you like this.." Steph said worriedly as Mira cried on her shoulders.

"I'm just so stûpid. I thought I could keep the long distance relationship thing till I return. I was so stûpid to believe he'll be loyal to me" Mira continued crying.

"Mira.. stop saying that. You weren't stûpid. He's the stûpid one. Gosh! I should have staɓɓed him and disposed his body in a river!! How dare he betray you?? Stop crying Mirabel, he doesn't know the prized possession he just lost. I'm sure he'll later come back to plead and when he does, kick him in the @ss and make him lick your foot!!" Alicia said and Stephanie nodded..

"Yes!! Don't even think of accepting him back. I'm sure to your Prince Charming is waiting for you somewhere and you'll find him soon.." Steph said.

"Yesss.. he'll alight from his huge horse, wearing a golden crown on his head with an armor of a warrior. His long black hair will be packed in a ponytail revealing the beautiful features of his face.. His blue eyes, pointed nose, sēxy lips and so much more.." Alicia said dreamily and Mirabel couldn't hold her laughter anymore..

"You're crazy Alicia. And who rides a horse these days?... You two are the best!.." Mira said and hugged them both..

"Keep smiling like this baby girl.." Steph said and ruffled Mira's hair.

"So now that everyone's happy and Lina is with your neighbor, let's go clubbing!!!" Alicia yelled..

Steph and Mira chuckled and shook their head..

"You would never change.. plus.. remember I have a night shift tonight. And I'm almost late, so I gotta go now.." Steph said and stood up from the roadside bench they were sitting on.

Alicia made a sad face and pouted then sighed..

"Fine.. thankfully you'll be free tomorrow and on Sunday. Mirabel and I would watch a movie at my place then.."

"Movie?? Okay if it's an X-rated movie, then count me out!! Coz I know what you can do Ali.." Mira raised her hands up and Alicia frowned..

"The both of you are so drrryyy and boorinnggg. You two act like you're still little children, you're adults for crying out loud!! You're under nobody!!"

"I'm a mom.." Steph said with a smirk.

"And I'm your Mom.." Mira said to Alicia and pinched her nose.

"You're not my mom.." Alicia faked a frown..

"Yes I am. Without me, you wouldn't have had a successful exam and graduation without throwing up on people. I had to tell all bar owners to ban you from their clubs for a week so you could focus on your final exams without getting drunk from clubbing!!"

"That doesn't make you my mom!! My mom should have hûge sexƴ ass and full boõbs unlike you with the frying pan shape.." Alicia laughed and prepared herself for a run..

"What!! How dare you!!" Mirabel yelled and removed one leg of her shoe to chase Alicia who had already taken to her heels..

"Come back here you loudmouth!!"

Steph held her tummy as it began to hurt from excess laughter. Those two are such a handful, Lina's more of a handful than they are.

She was used to their constant bickering coz that was what drew them closer with each other. There was no way to explain how much she missed them, they were the sisters she wished to have... The ones who replaced the only one she had. 😔

She shrugged off those past thoughts and began strolling to her workplace and humming her favorite song.

Stephanie finally reached her destination. The building looked small but was spacious inside. The different colors of lights displayed themselves which attracted many people to the restaurant. She walked towards the door and the doorman greeted her and opened the door for her. She smiled at him and got in. She went straight to the kitchen and exchanged pleasantries with everyone. Some answered happily while the others scoffed.

She wasn't liked by some of her workmates because the owner of the restaurant loved her more. Her sweet smile was contagious and the customers loved seeing her around.

She wore her apron and joined some ladies in the washing and chopping of vegetables.

After few minutes, a lady who was a waitress came to the kitchen and informed Steph that she was summoned by their employer.

She nodded and went to her(employer's) office.

She knocked and heard a 'COME IN' from the other side of the door.

She went inside the office and her smile dropped when she saw a figure she would never forget sitting opposite the employer with his legs crossed and a cunning smile on his face

"Stephanie.. come, come have a seat.." her employer said nervously and Steph shook her head..

"I'm fine here ma'am. You sent for me.." Steph said with her eyes still on the figure who's eyes were on his tablet and didn't even look at her.

"Emm..yes i.. I did. I need to tell you something Stephanie and I need you to understand me please.."

"Okay ma'am, I'm all ears.."

"We..we are at a time of low business volume. I mean our losses are getting more than our profits. So they are some decisions we have to make to balance it.. Please understand that we have no choice but to do it.."

"To do what ma'am?.." Steph asked as she could feel something bad was gonna come out of her employer's mouth due to this man's presence.

"I'm sorry Steph, but I have to lay you off.."

"What!! Lay me off?? What did I do wrong??"

"You didn't do anything Steph. It's just.. it's just we're losing a lot lately.."

"Really?? Losing a lot?? And I'm the only one you could fire right?? What of the others?? No worries, I know why you're doing this! It's this good-for-nothing chûmp sitting here that bribed you to do this, right??.....

And you!! (facing Raymond) , you think I'm gonna beg you to keep my job. Well kiṣṣ my aṣṣ!! I'm never gonna beg you!!" Steph said and took off her apron.

She slammed it on the table and stared at Raymond one last time. His eyes were still on his tablet with a cunning smirk on his face.

"Twērp!!" Steph said and stormed out of the office.

"Emm.. Mr Raymond, I've.. I've done what you asked of me. Now please release my daughter, please. She's my only child.." the employer begged..

"Release the girl and send her to her mother's beanery!!" Raymond said through the phone and stood up.

He smirked devilîshly and satisfactorily.

Steph stormed outside the restaurant angrily and clenched her fists in anger. She brought out her phone and made a call..

"Alicia, send me your address. I'm coming to your house.." she said and hung up.

Then her phone beeped with a message..

★236 Lockdown close. And what's up? You sounded different. Are you okay?★

She sighed and replied..

★ I'll explain everything when I reach your house★

And then she boarded a taxi.

"What!! How dare he??" Alicia exclaimed and went to the kitchen then got a knife..

"Let's go behead him right now.."

"What kind of heartless human is that?? He nearly ran over Lina and now he made you lose your job.." Mira said as she stroked Steph's hair. Steph was raising her head on her shoulder.

"Hmm.. I was managing the little money I got from my job to take care of Angel and now this had to happen. Life just ain't fair.." Steph muttered and closed her eyes..

"Stop saying this Steph. That isn't the only job in the world, you can find another.." Mirabel said.

"Yeah, I can talk to my manager to find out if there's any job vacancy for someone who studied business management and finance.." Alicia said.

"Alicia, please no. I don't want any backdoor entry.."

"But it's not a backdoor entry. You'll go through the usual interview process.. Okay finee, tomorrow, we'll go online and search for job application forms okay?"

"Okay.."

"Now stop sulking. You'll find a job tomorrow, I'm sure about that.." Alicia said.

"So let's watch a c-drama. I know how much you love em.." Mirabel said.

"Okay. Lemme call Mrs Della and talk to Angel one last time before she sleeps.." Steph said and stood up to make a call to her neighbor.

**NEXT MORNING**

"Where the hëll is Layla??" Raymond yelled while pacing back and forth in his office waiting for his secretary..

"I tried calling her but she isn't picking her calls. You know.. you know she got married last week and.." Daniel paused and scratched his head..

"And what??"

"And she requested for a leave from work for her honeymoon with her husband but you didn't.." Daniel paused again as he could feel the heat emanating from Raymond's body..

"So she decided to stop coming to work and go for her darñ honeymoon instead?? Who does she think she is to make such decisions?! Such a pathetic foõl!! Send an email to her telling her never to step foot in my company again! She's fired!" Raymond said and sat on his seat and began flicking his pen.

"Okay boss but what are you going to do now? The plane leaves in less than forty minutes from now and you need a secretary to assist you. Or should I go with you?"

"If you go with me then who will handle things here. I don't trust any of these incompetent peeps I have as employees.."

"I can go with you sir.." a voice coming from a figure standing at the door.

A beautiful average height lady holding some files in her hand with a smile on her face. She adjusted her glasses and moved forward into the office..

"I'll go with you sir. I can be of great assistance to you.."

"Some people are just ill-bred. Do you think this is your boyfriend's office that you just walk in and say whatever trash that was hanging around your mouth??" Raymond spat and Irene shuddered..

"I'm sorry sir. I was just on my way to give you the financial assets report of our branch in Chicago and I happened to overhear that you needed someone to go with you so.."

"So you had to interrupt my discussion and show off your lack of manners right?"

"I'm sorry sir. I'll leave now.." Irene said and dropped the files on the table then rushed to the door.

"Prepare, we're leaving for Chicago in twenty minutes time.." Raymond announced which made Irene freeze with a victorious smile on her face.

She immediately hid it and turned..

"Okay Sir.." she said and exited the office.

When she got out, she twirled in happiness and smiled.

She would be finally getting the chance to spend 'quality time' with her handsome attractive boss. She had always done all she could for him to notice her but it was all futile. She now had the opportunity to give herself to him and she wasn't gonna let it slide..

"It was a good thing I impelled Layla to go for her honeymoon. Now Raymond's gonna be all mine.." Irene said dreamily and rushed to make a call to order for her luggages.

**AIRPORT**

A red Bugatti Veyron car stopped in front of the airport and an epitome of breathtaking attractiveness alighted from the driver's seat. The cool breeze blew through his hair and he pushed it sideways with his hand.

Daniel took out his luggage and escorted him to the checkpoint while Irene was struggling with hers with no one to help her.

Irene scoffed and rolled her eyes as the comments from the ladies were irritating her.

"Take care of things while I'm gone. I don't wanna hear there's any form of mishap while I'm away. And yes! Upload an application form for a new secretary online so I can have one when I return.." Raymond said and his last sentence squashed Irene's heart.

She was expecting he would move her from her department to his secretary post.

"Sure thing boss.." Daniel nodded and took the car key from Ray then bid him goodbye.

Raymond and Irene had their luggages checked and then ingressed the plane.

She was happy to see that they would be sitting together.

She sat near the window while he sat at the edge. He immediately brought out his tablet and began going through some things while Irene kept gawking at his handsome face and packaged her bōobs well...

"If you do that one more time, I won't hesitate to throw you out the window and use that tiny things you call bōobs for sacrifice!!"

And Irene immediately comported herself.
