The Dreadful Past

Just by Chief's looks, I already know the reason why he summoned me to the Agency. I entered his office when the yellow officer he was talking to came out. he returned to his swivel chair and sat down when I got inside.

"How many times have I been telling you not to act recklessly?" the voice it released was special.

"I can't lose Lorenzo" was all I could say to him.

Issuing a Flight Ban without any reasons is prohibited. in the eyes of the law, Lorenzo has not committed a crime. The Agency does not know we opened the case again in Macau. Also.." He looked up and looked at me

"Your Team operates outside the protocol of the Agency. When it reaches them do you think you're still a free man? you might lose the chance to catch Magnus. Do you understand what I want to say Rowin?"

I didn't answer right away. Maybe it was my wish that the investigation progressed. We have been doing this for almost 5 years. So far we have no Lead on where Magnus is. Magnus killed Mia. He was the same criminal we have been chasing 5 years ago. The last mission I was supposed to do before getting married.

"For now, Abandon the Mansion. Come back to the Agency. You have to cool down for a few months"

"What!?" I bawled.

"No! I can't do that!" my voice got louder. We have wasted years on this investigation. Now that we have the lead in action the more reason that we should not stop.

"Chief, If we stall this case now, it will be harder for us to catch Magnus. We can't stop anymore." Chief closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He got up and approached me.

I know he is just devastated just like me because Mia was like her daughter too. And he is also the one who allowed us to reopen Magnus's case. He was the one who reinstated me in the Agency.

"Losing one agent is just too much for me. I like you working here. So don't blow your cover. We first have to convince those above that we are not going back to Magnus's case, especially that, You are the most expected person who is going to rebel. let's not make them believe that it's true anymore. " The chief grabbed my shoulder and approached me.

"Also, the connection with Magnus is too big, we don't know maybe he also has eyes in here. You have to be careful" he warned me.

"I really believe in Chief's words." we looked at the door. We saw Gab just come in. "I will vacate the Mansion tonight you come with me too." It's like I ordered it.

"Why? You can do it alone. "

"Excuse me, what about your wife? I leave it on the road? Is that 10 million too?" it's like he imitated the tone of my voice. Chief immediately looked at me at what Gab said

"No." Before the chief opened his mouth, I spoke immediately. I already know what it will say.

"Okay. I will also transfer the name of the owner of the mansion. "Chief said to us.

We just shook our heads and smirked at Tyron's approach to the woman who brought us our drinks, who she held in her arms for a moment.

We are here at Jake's Bar. Since we've all left the mansion, it looks like we'll be talking here for the mean time. it's true that we are going to stop the investigation for a while but we are still searching for Lorenzo secretly.

I work in the Agency with them, being a Crime Wrecker is in our family's blood. My Dad was a General. He left his job when my Mom had us. Grandfather was a soldier.

We were a part of the team with Mia and Chief. Gab is Mia's step brother. He was also one of those who tried to reopen Magnus's case.

Gab is the nicest of us. I also know that. The heart is soft like a woman. Luke, Tyron and also with Jake are the same. They are obsessed with girls. Well I'm not really obsessed. I only had Mia before. Now I just play with girls. I didn't have any relationship since my Mia died.

Something was strange. The original plan was to catch Magnus. but the case was suddenly closed when Mia died.

"Rowin. you're not going home again? What about your wife? Lianne?" Tyron said suddenly.

"I don't have to answer you." I answered him sparingly and gulped down the glass of wine.

"Woah. Woah. Rowin." Tyron walked next to me and all their attention was on me. Why the hell they mind.

I just tormented Tyron and he raised his hand when he felt that I was going to punch him at any moment now.

Lianne...

Her Father betrayed us. maybe that's why I treat him like that.

"She's not that bad. I've seen her several times. She's... not that bad." Luke said with a smile.

I'm not saying Lianne is ugly. I don't usually call women ugly.

"Are you keeping her until when?" Gab asked and poured me wine into my glass. I wasn't aware I drank all of it.

"I don't know" I answered indifferently. I'm just so tired of listening to them. If they weren't my friends I would have thrown them away

"I'm done with you. What about Lianne? Wife? What the hell? then what game is this Rowin?" Jake spoke suddenly and brought a large whiskey and ice container.

"Lianne is Rowin's new pet, yours is outdated," Tyron said to Jake

"Don't call her pet. Afterall she's just a girl. she doesn't know what her father did and it's not her fault her father's fault. One more thing she is going to be Rowin's wife " I felt Gab's smile in the corner of my eyes

"Stop calling her a wife. I haven't told him yet" I promised them.

"Wait are you really going to marry her?" Jake asked in surprise.

"It's just a cover up. The higher ups must be convinced that I am living my life well. Chief is right. I should stay cool for a while" I explained to them.

Right after Mia died I tried searching for Magnus alone. I did things that angered the agency. Because they don't want to investigate what happened in Macau. I did terrible things as an Agent that's why I was immediately suspended from work then. They watched me for a while. They prohibited me for working on any cases. Chief covered me up all those years.

"That's right. You can use everything that is right in front of you" when Gab agreed.

"What about the thing that I asked to you Jake" I asked him.

"I'm still looking into the Arson Case Files 10 Years ago. The others have been disposed of"

"I'm different Rowin. how was your Chase with Lorenzo?" Luke suddenly asked. I lowered the glass of wine and tightened my grip on it.

He was supposed to be in jail for 10 years. But someone helped him out. When he was released, he moved from place to place. It was hard searching for him.

Now...I'm still at the chase. And it seemed that my hopes were lost when I lost Lorenzo

"He won't sing either Luke. " I answered him. The two also shook their heads.

I stood up and took my jacket. "Oh where are you going?" the four of them looked up at me.

"I wanna have fun" I said as I looked at the dancefloor

"Just go home, you're going home-Ahhh!" I stepped on Jake's foot hard when I walked in front of him.
