Chapter 5 Welcome the kids

Chapter 5

I woke up the second time and we were still in the car, the only difference was that we were on a mountain and I could see the vast ocean below.

"W-wow," I said when I looked out the window when I woke up and saw Adam still driving seriously and still looking good even though he was awake.

It's the 2nd day we've been in the car. It's really far.

"Are you okay even though you haven't slept?" I asked Adam and took some water from the backseat and drank it.

"Yes," he said simply while still looking at the road.

Suddenly, something came to my mind because I remembered that he has never had a girlfriend. It is also better that I speak because we are very quiet.

"If you haven't got a girlfriend, maybe you have a boyfriend?" I asked softly and smiled at him.

Adam frowned and looked at me.

"What kind of question is that?" Adam asked, making me laugh a little.

"Do I know," I said and raised both hands and laughed again.

"I just don't like girls. I just want to work, that's all," he said, which is why I nodded "Alright," I said and peeked out the window again.

"How about you?" Adam suddenly asked so I looked at him again.

"I never had a boyfriend," I answered and he nodded.

"Why?" he asked again.

"Because that was not on my mind until I became your wife," I said truthfully and he nodded.

The flight was quiet after that and no one spoke to us. I couldn't say anything so I just looked outside.

"I'm excited," I said to Adam while looking out the window.

"Because it's your first time," he said, which is why I nodded because I looked ignorant.

"Don't think too much. You'll like that place just like my mom," he said that's why I looked at him and he was still looking at the road.

After a few hours, maybe around noon, Adam said that we were close so I thought of pinning my hair and wiped my face with a wet washcloth. We stopped for a while because the car ran out of gas.

I didn't put on make up or anything and all I did was wipe my face, because I don't really put anything like that on.

I also looked at the road and saw that we entered a Barangay that was wide. There are many houses and children playing on the road.

I smiled because the smiles of those children also made me happy.

"They are having fun," I said to Adam and pointed to the children and looked at him "Hmm.." he said that's why I smiled while watching the happy people as if they had no problem.

I was surprised because the car suddenly stopped and Adam was waiting for him to open the gate. He blew his horn before finally opening the gate We entered there and I saw a wide garden as we were going to the garage.

"It's beautiful," I said and smiled at Adam "See? I told you, you'll like it," he said, making me smile even more until the car finally stopped and I saw Jai and the others waiting for us.

I got out of the car and Jai hugged me right away.

"Take a while," Jai said, making me laugh and let go of his hug to help Adam, but he didn't seem to have our two suitcases and the one we were going to greet his grandmother with.

"I'm the one," I said to my suitcase but he didn't let me.

"Just continue walking," Adam said so I just walked with him because I was shy.

We entered the house together and I looked around and I can say that the interior design is beautiful.

Adam put down the suitcases and the greeting card and I was surprised because Von, who is Adam's personal bodyguard, suddenly appeared.

Von was the one who brought it upstairs and it's obvious that he has already memorized the whole house.

"Welcome!" suddenly said an old woman who I'm sure is Adam's grandmother.

I was surprised when Adam pulled me closer to him with my waist.

"Aren't you going to give grandma a hug?" Adam's grandmother asked so I looked at Adam who was just looking at his grandmother seriously while holding my waist.

"Shake hands will do," Adam said so his grandmother laughed and shook hands with Adam, looking at me.

"Welcome, ihja," he said to me, which is why my nervousness disappeared.

"Thank you," I said and he held out his hand, signaling that he wanted a hug.

Adam was about to hug me when he pulled me back so I looked at him.

"Just hug, it's your fault," said Adam's grandmother so I used all my strength to get away from Adam and finally hugged his grandmother.

Adam is terrible. Hug just don't want to give.

His grandmother hugged me back so I smiled and let go.

"This wife of yours is very tender, I'll take it," said Adam's grandmother so I laughed and Adam's grandmother squeezed my cheek.

"I like you, for him," said Adam's grandmother suddenly so I stopped and looked at Adam who was serious. As always.

"Welcome, again," said Mrs. Donovan is the mother of Adam's mother.

I elbowed Adam and he looked at me and I looked at him saying that he smiled at his grandmother, I was surprised because he smiled a little as he approached his grandmother.

"I miss you, grandmother," said Adam suddenly while hugging his grandmother, which is why his grandmother smiled and touched Adam's forehead.

"You're going to be hugged, your husband just needs to look at it," he said, making me wince. Maybe it's just getting old.

"Let's go, it's noon. Your mom just cooked," said Mrs. Donovan then we nodded and walked together to the dining area where there were too many people.

"Welcome," they said at the same time and even Carmilla joined in.

I smiled at them all and bowed.

"So formal," said Adam who was next to me and we sat down.

"Pabebe ka," I teased and he frowned.

"No I'm not," he said.

"Yes you are," I said and he just shook his head before taking some rice and we ate together.

Everyone was happy when we arrived, thank you.

I was just going to ask Adam why he was having a baby earlier and even I was stopped.

It's beautiful here.

We just finished eating and now Adam and I are here in the room his grandmother gave us. The room is nice but I feel more comfortable in our house in Manila.

And as usual, he only ate a little because his stomach didn't like the food. He just smells it and hates it.

Mint green is the color of the room, it doesn't hurt the eyes. Adam didn't complain so maybe it's okay. I'm currently sitting on our bed and rolling my eyes.

"Why didn't you hug your grandmother earlier?" I asked Adam and looked at him sitting on the bed with glasses on while working on his laptop.

"Are you teasing him?" I asked again and he nodded.

"It's been five and a half years since I last saw her. She'll cry if I hug her immediately," said Adam, which is why I nodded He didn't want to see his grandmother cry. That's why.

"But when you hug her, she smiled so I hug her too," he said so I smiled at him and he looked at me.

"Why?" he asked and I shook my head.

"Nothing. The people here are kind, why did you say you don't like it?" I asked and he turned his gaze back to his laptop.

"I can't tell you about that. Just enjoy yourself," he said in a serious voice that made me nod.

I think I overdid it. I respect his privacy the way he respects mine.

"You can go downstairs," he said and fixed the glasses on his eyes.

"It's embarrassing," I said truthfully and stood up from sitting on the bed.

"How can you enjoy this vacation if you'll stay here?" Adam asked as he frowned.

"Just come with me," I said and went to my bag and took out a can of coffee that was his favorite.

"Alright," I said and approached him and handed him the coffee that was no longer cold.

He looked at what I was holding and looked at me again before taking the coffee.

"You'll cook for me later," he said that's why I nodded and smiled when he took off his glasses and closed the laptop and stood up on the bed.

"Let's go," he said so I smiled and followed him and we finally left the room.

While walking, I realized that their house is very spacious. Hacienda if you call it"You walk so fast," I said because his legs were so long that he was a meter away from me.

I caught up with him immediately when he slowed down his steps.

"Where do you want to go first?" he asked while drinking the coffee.

"I want to buy at the store I saw before we entered here. Is it possible?" I asked and he nodded and we walked down the stairs together.

"The ice cream is delicious today, it's warm," I said as we went down.

"Yeah," he answered.

"Why did you drink that right away? Isn't it cold already?" I asked and looked at him as I went down.

"I just like this coffee so much," he said in his baritone voice so I just nodded.

"So your full name is Adam Donovan Ross?" I asked because the surroundings were very quiet.

"No," he said so my forehead wrinkled and we got down completely.

"My name is Adam Matthias Donovan Ross," he said making me stop.

Does he have a second name?

"Oh, same. I also have a second name, my full name is Aryn Rain Oliverio Ross," I said because I don't have a middle name. I use the last name of a nun "Oh, I see," he said and crushed the can effortlessly and put it in his pocket.

We stopped walking when we saw that Mrs. Donovan in the living room.

"Are you my grandson? Adam is here, they just arrived," said Mrs. Donovan while Adam and I were standing next to each other.

"We'll just buy something outside," Adam said goodbye using his cold and serious voice so he got everyone's attention.

"Wait a minute. I will first introduce you to my favorite biko maker," said Mrs. Donovan, so I looked at the woman he was referring to and saw that she was with another woman.

"This is Maridel Turalba. The woman who sometimes cooks here at home! He cooks very well, he will be the one cooking dinner tonight," said Mrs. Donovan so I nodded while looking at the woman who suddenly stood up and was about to approach Adam when Adam suddenly moved behind me and grabbed both of my shoulders.

"Done? We're leaving," he said as if he didn't care and he pushed me lightly and we started walking out.

What is his trip? Did he have a bad trip?

"What habit is that again, Adam?" I asked and looked at him.

"What? Do you want me to entertain her?" Adam asked and I suddenly remembered what happened at the market "I'm fine, it's up to you," I said and I heard him chuckle.

"I'll just buy you some ice cream," he said, which is why I nodded and smiled.

"Hello Sister! Are you new?" asked a child when we got close to the store and Adam made a purchase while this child was talking to me.

"Yes, just on vacation," I said and smiled at him. He hugged my leg so I removed his hand and held him.

"What's your name?" asked the child.

"Aryn, you?" I will ask.

"Selina," he said and suddenly hugged me Such a lovely kid.

"You're cute," I said while hugging him too "You're beautiful," he said back so I laughed and looked at Adam who patted my head.

"Ice cream," he said so I stood up and took it.

"Ice cream, kiddo," Adam said to the kid next to me and almost all the kids came to him.

"Brother Adam!" they all shouted and I saw that Adam's aura became soft as the children hugged him.

"Want some ice cream?" Adam asked the children and I smiled when they all nodded "You're already taken brother Adam," Selina said so I looked at her.

"Your wife is beautiful," he said.

"How did you know we were married?" I asked and he pointed to both of our rings "Mama said when someone has a ring, they're married," Selina said cutely so I laughed and squeezed her cheek That day I was always smiling while watching the children. Selina is a smart child, I hope she will always be happy, even the children with us, now.
