Chapter 3 Faith's POV:

We stopped for a while to catch our breath.

"Faith the man chasing us is gone! We misled-"

"Gosh Queenie!" I screamed in shock.

My tears fell when an arrow hit Queenie's head. She died knowingly, I didn't know this would happen. Are those people crazy?

"Run young lady run!" A new man with a bow and arrow shouted.

When I turned to him, he was at the top of a tree and sitting. He still had a big smile on his face and seemed to be enjoying what was happening.

"742 participants left out of 1066." Announced the voice that ordered us.

I ran and left Queenie lifeless. Even though it was against my heart to leave her, there was nothing I could do. I have to save myself too.

"I'm going after you young lady!" Shouted the man holding the arrow.

He was about to catch up with me, I was only three feet away. I need to hurry!

I ran and ran until I got out of the forest. A river opened up to me. I'm out of breath and tired.

"Ahhh!" I was surprised.

I almost fell when an arrow hit me in the side. I can feel the pain and the blood flow from the wound.

I pressed the cut part even though it hurts, just to stop the bleeding. I bit my lip because of the pain.

"Got you!" This man shouted. He caught up with me and pulled me by the hair.

"Let me go. Have mercy." I begged and knelt on the floor because of pain and weakness.

"Alright, you said it!" This man shouted. He suddenly let go of me and pushed me to the floor.

I hit the floor and my lips hit the stone. I can taste the blood from the wound on my lip.

"Goodbye baby- ahh!"

My eyes widened when someone suddenly hit the man's head with a rock. Am I safe?

"Gosh Faith!" Trinity!

Trinity hugged me crying. She also has a wound on her arm, the tiredness is obvious on her face.

"What happened to you?" I asked Trinity.

"It's nothing, I'm fine. gosh Faith, I've already killed two people. I want to get out of here." Trinity said and helped me stand up.

"555 participants out of 1066 left."

"Just a little while ago, I was already feeling sick. They are the ones to blame for this, maybe we were kidnapped." Trinity whispered as we walked into the forest.

We entered a cave. There were people inside too, there was another old woman crying.

"Are you okay? I'm Grandma Ching." Introducing the old woman.

Grandma helped me sit on the floor. I looked around at our companions here in the cave. Trinity and I with a girl, a boy and Grandma Ching with us here in the cave.

"What's going on? I'm old, I can't last long in this game." Grandma Ching sobbed softly while wiping the wound on my side.

"Faith, this is Ahlex and that man is Xian. We met earlier before the game started and hid. It's a good thing I heard your voice when you screamed." Trinity said.

"Thank you very much, Trinity. What shall we do?" I asked.

"I don't know, we have to survive. We have to get out of here, for sure our parents are looking for us." Trinity replied.

"498 participants left out of 1066." The voice announced again.

"Many people are dying. What is happening to the youth today? They are only thinking about violence and their own welfare." Grandma Ching said softly.

"The number will soon drop to 490. Shall we just wait here?" Asked the girl with us, I think her name is Ahlex.

"What? Do you want us to go out and kill ourselves?" Trinity asked sarcastically.

"No, I'm just waiting for us to kill each other here!" Ahlex shouted which surprised us all.

"What the hell let it go!" I screamed.

I stopped Ahlex just as she was about to stab Trinity with a broken glass. Is this one crazy? She's a traitor! She has no mercy!

"Kids stop that! Violence is not the answer!" Grandma Ching screamed and Ahlex tried to stop us.

Ahlex and I were fighting over the broken piece of glass when she suddenly pushed me. I took a step back and almost fell to the floor.

"C-Child." We were all shocked when Ahlex stabbed Grandma Ching in the stomach.

"You meddling old woman!" Ahlex shouted.

Ahlex pulled the broken glass out of Grandma Ching's stomach so the old woman's blood flowed out.

My vision suddenly went dark. Tears started to fall from my eyes.

"Fuck you're going to die!" I shouted before rushing to Ahlex and pushing her hard.

She lost her balance and fell to the floor. I was shocked suddenly because of what I did, her head hit the stone. I-I killed somebody.

Oh my! I killed someone. I am a murderer!

"T-Trinity, I don't want to do this and I want to leave here." I wept weakly and sat on the floor. I could feel Trinity and Xian hugging me.

"Sisters, Grandma Ching is gone. Sister Ahlex is also gone." Xian sobbed softly next to me.

"I'm sorry. Don't worry, we'll help each other get out of here." I said between sobs.

We prayed for the bodies of Grandma Ching and Ahlex before we left. Even so, Ahlex is also just a victim of the game we are involved in now.

"Congratulations participants! 490 out of 1066 left. Killing is forbidden again." The voice said that we don't know where it's coming from. She introduced herself as Leviathan. Who is that heartless?

The three of us came out of the cave and looked around. What was last night is now morning. We are like robots that are being played with and made to do what they want.

"Oh horse!"

I was surprised when suddenly there was a flare in the sky. The three of us looked at it.

"Follow the origin of the flare. Welcome to the annual Pawn Games, you are now officially participating in the game. Have a good day." Last announcement before the surrounding voice disappeared again.

Pawn Games? What did I get into? Can we get out of here?

I don't know what to do. I hope it's all just a dream.
