Chapter 4 Sisterhood

Sisterhood sometimes was hard to maintain between two sisters related but different in all ramifications. But to her and Cara it was the easiest. Just like Siamese twins.

Kristen and Cara were so much different in many ways.

It was glaringly obvious that Kristen was a tomboy because one hardly saw her in female outfits. It was always joggers, T-shirts, trousers, male jackets and blazers, flannel shirts, and male tank tops,

alongside pams or sneakers; space jams precisely, her favorite sneakers, and her weakness.

Her mum stopped buying her female outfits when she noticed she doesn't wear them, rather she always gave them to Cara. Her parents had no problem with her outfits until she came out to them, that was the genesis of their untold hatred and disowning.

Cara on the other hand was all about girly stuff. Heels, female shoes, dresses, trousers, and crop tops. She wore tank tops or flannel shirts once in a while.

She adored her sister so much and secretly supported her with her allowances when their parents disowned her. She was the greatest supporter of her sister's sexuality. Kristen came out to her a long time before she did with their parents. Their closeness to each other was indisputable and inseparable.

Kristen doesn't joke with Cara, thanks to her she lived through those years she was disowned. During those years she felt as though she was alone in a big ocean. She never cut communication with her, despite their parent's attempt to separate them, with the excuse that she would corrupt her. Cara would still visit her in college with her high school friends and would spend some time with her before going home. She found a sister and a best friend.

A sisterhood she would never forget, not now not ever.

That was the reason she took up the responsibility of training her in college. To her she was paying her back for those years she was there for her when no one else was. Supporting and reassuring her that she was not alone and would never be.

It had been only the two of them till she met Taylor during her third year, a few months after their parents died.

Taylor, the first woman she ever really loved. She thought she loved her too, judging from how inseparable they were. They were together for two years and a few months before she caught her cheating with one of her female superiors at the modeling agency. Taylor was also a model but in female outfits. They had met at a photoshoot. She was a beauty to behold in the yellow dress she was wearing, her beauty was radiating all around and her poses and shots were as sensational, as they were a turn-on for her. She had asked her out on a date after the shoot, and from there, their love story kicked off. They were known as a couple in the modeling agency, they did a lot of shoots together. Taylor in her elegant dresses and she in her charming Tuxedos.

Taylor and Cara warmed up to each other easier than she expected and that gladdened her. They were the two people that made sense in her life. Taylor took care of Cara and that heightened her love for her. She went all in, with her body, soul, and mind. That was what nearly killed her.

She got lost in the world of Taylor, loving her with everything in her, with no reservations whatsoever. There was no sign, and even if there were, she wasn't paying attention. Her heart got shattered in a flick by the only woman who stood at the center of her heart. She had noticed the closeness between Taylor and one of their superiors by the name Shane, but she didn't make anything out of it. To her, it was just work stuff. Never did she know that they were banging each other at her back. What a fool she was to think that Taylor was going to be the mother of her kids. To think she was planning on walking down the aisle with her.

The whole thing knocked her off for weeks, she lost every desire to live. She lost weight massively.

It was a bad blow but thanks again to her sisterhood who never left her side. She took her to therapy sections and slowly, she started getting over the thoughts to take her life.

She stopped working at the Agency to get her sanity back. Seeing the woman that broke her heart and the dyke that stole her woman, she couldn't help but want to go crazy. She took Cara's advice and resigned.

By then, her popularity was gathering momentum, so it wasn't hard to get accepted by another bigger modeling agency. There, her popularity accelerated, and she became known all over San Francisco and beyond. Her name rang a bell in the whole of California. She got loads of contracts, her accounts were breathing. But that didn't heal her broken heart. She was broken, shattered, and despondent. She still saw Taylor, it wasn't easy to avoid her entirely because they were living in the same town.

The bitch didn't even come back to apologize, she loved her to the extent of taking her back if she had come back, even against her sister's advice. She moved on as though there was never an 'us' between them. She tried so much to stay strong, if not for anything, for the sake of her sister.

She resorted to hooking up with girls that were drooling over her, to get Taylor off her mind. She slept with them for a night or two at most and dumped them the next day.

Almost all the girls in San Francisco were dying to have a night with her, she was the envy of most butches and the terror of men. She closed her heart entirely to love. She stopped being the cheerful and easygoing Kristen, she changed to a mean and cold-hearted woman. Her love was only for Cara and she made sure she got the best of it.

She became a player, a cute one at that. High school girls drooled over her, and so did young ladies even married women but she doesn't do married women, to avoid a scandal that would taint her career and it wasn't every girl she saw that she laid. And she doesn't part with them rudely as most players do. She loved her career and wouldn't want to take that risk. She would always tell them that she doesn't do love or more than a night, and they would readily agree. Most of them would come back for more but she would courteously reject their advances. As far as she was concerned, no woman deserved her love again.

They were just there for her to relax her nerves after work and get off. Any other thing apart from that was null and void.

Her sister would always scream her lungs out at her new lifestyle choice. In her words; "Kris please cut down with the ladies or at least roll with one, it's fair enough."

But she doesn't want to roll with one. That would turn her into the vulnerable Kristen again. Settling down with someone wasn't on her agenda, she would be twenty-five by month's end and her life was cool as it was. Moreover, she was still healing, and even though she was acting all strong and tough now, she knew she wasn't. Taylor dealt with her. She had never believed in the saying that first love hurts but with Taylor, there was no denying that the saying was hundred percent true. But too bad there wouldn't be a second, not a chance in hell.

She managed to survive this one, she might not make it alive if she ventured into the second one. Love hurts and it will always do. She resolved in her heart.
