Chapter 3 Home For The Holidays

The knock came again, louder than the first one. Loud enough to bring back a tired Kristen from the world of oblivion. She groaned. The last thing she needed right now was someone interrupting her sleep. Plus she didn't see her tired self waking up to go get that door.

Whoever it was should go and come back later. She sighed and turned to the other side of the bed.

The knock came the third time, this time it came with several bangings.

"Geez sis!! Would you rather I sleep outside here after returning from a long journey!!."

Her eyes snapped open as the voice came to her. It was her sister.

She sprang up from the bed and rushed to the door. She was going to kill her today.

She turned the doorknob and it opened, revealing a slender girl with black hair, dressed in a pink tank top and high waist-black trousers, carrying a suitcase with anger masking her beautiful face.

Kristen scratched her head and looked at her pleadingly.

"Forgive me Cara, I was way tired. I slept off."

"Sis I knocked three good times. Just tell me you resurrected from death 'cause I don't know you to be a heavy sleeper." Cara finished and marched inside, leaving the suitcase for her sister to carry. Kristen smiled, dragged the suitcase inside, and closed the door.

"Big sis can't get a hug I presume?" She teased and Cara turned a deaf ear as she sat down on the couch, flinging her backpack to the other couch.

Kristen knew she needed a little more petting before she would come around. She had told her on the phone that she would be coming back from school today. That was mainly the reason she came home. Otherwise, she would be in one of her numerous girls' houses getting a relaxing massage and a lovely treatment after several days of stressful photo shoots. She bit her lips.

"I'm sorry baby." She pressed on and Cara pouted.

"From Berkeley, I got stood at the door by my sister." She still whined regardless and Kristen chuckled.

"It won't happen again I promise, cross my heart." She indicated the 'cross my heart' with her thumb across her chest.

"I have heard you," Cara replied though her face was still contorted in a mock frown.

"Can I get a hug now?" Kristen requested as she spread her arms wide.

Cara got up and attempted to go inside the room to tease her sister further.

"Caramel!!!" Kristen yelled and Cara burst into laughter. She turned and ran into her sister's arms.

"I was just kidding sis, how can I turn down a hug from you." She said as she rested her head on Kristen's chest.

Kristen exhaled deeply. "You scared me, baby." She began playing with her hair and Cara giggled.

"I have missed you so much, my baby."

"I miss you more Kris."

"No baby, I miss you more."

Cara wiggled out of her hold and pouted. "Sis you know I miss you more, stop dragging it with me." She whined and Kristen raised her hands in defeat.

"Okay baby, you win." Cara nodded and smiled.

"I hope the flight back home didn't stress my baby?"

"It did, sis," Cara replied, squeezing her face to her sister's amusement.

"I'm sorry baby. So how's Berkeley?"

"As large as life!" Cara replied with a grin.

"So I assume that you are enjoying the school?" Cara nodded. "And that my money is being used wisely?" Kristen arched a questioning brow and Cara chuckled.

"You know you can trust me, sis."

"That's my girl." She opened her arms again and Cara jumped in like a baby jumping into her mother's arms.

Well, Kristen was the mother and father she had since six years ago their parents died. Kristen took up the responsibility of being a parent. Catering for her needs and seeing her through school. It made the death of their parents bearable for Her. Unlike Kristen who wasn't deeply touched by their death, because they had disowned her since she came out to them, during her first year in college. Two years before they met their Waterloo. They banned her from coming home and stopped sponsoring her. She took up the responsibility herself with the help of her fashion modeling career which was at its early stage and the money her sister used to steal from their parents for her sake.

After their parents died in a car accident, they moved out of the house and rented another place, in downtown San Francisco to ease Cara the pain of remembering them. She was in her third year and her career was slowly kicking off.

Now a popular fashion model, making a lot of cash, she was able to send her sister to the University of her dreams_University Of California, Berkeley, as a way of appreciating her for being there when no one else was.

As soon as they disengaged Cara yawned. "Sis, I'm hungry, is there anything in the freezer?"

Thank God there were leftover cookies and burgers in the freezer otherwise, Kristen would be forced to engage in one task which she detest most_Cooking.

She loved food, Yeah but she'd rather order takeout than touch pots, and spoons or go close to the gas. That was what she had survived on since Cara left for Berkeley.

"The leftovers from the cookies and burgers I bought on my way back, you can make do with them alongside the juice in the freezer right? Kristen asked as she scratched her head.

Cara chuckled. "Of course, I have to make do with it because my elder sister can't even boil water." She finished with a laugh.

"Hey that's a lie and you know it." She pouted and her sister continued laughing. "At least I can make coffee."

"Yeah right, am supposed to clap for you right?" Cara made to clap her hands but Kristen reached for them and twisted them playfully behind her back. "Ouch! That hurts." Cara winced fake fully and Kristen let go. "See I got you." She stuck out her tongue and Kristen chuckled.

She reached for her and hugged her. "Feels so good to have you back, baby."

"I'm glad I'm home."

"Now, go and eat and get settled, I will run your bath," Kristen said after they disengaged. "And maybe," Cara was already eyeing her; she knew that the 'maybe' was not going to pass making lunch. Kristen chuckled and continued. "You can make lunch after that." She finished with a wide grin that spread across her face.

"I knew that was what you were going to say." Kristen laughed. "You love food so much but you can't cook to save your own life." Cara sang and Kristen rolled her eyes. Cara shook her head. "That doesn't look good on you sis."

"Whatever Caramel, go get settled will you."

Cara, who was about to enter the room, turned with a faked angry face.

"And when did you start calling me Caramel?" She shot her a questioning look.

"Really?" Kristen asked and Cara nodded. "Isn't that your given name?"

"So?" Cara rolled her eyes. "It's Cara to you and my friends, Caramel was for Mum and Dad. Duh."

Kristen dragged her sister inside along with her suitcase.

"Drama queen." She mouthed and Cara burst into laughter.

This was their usual banter, whenever Cara was around. That way they didn't miss their parents so much, especially Cara. They had each other's backs, making each other smile. The only time Kristen would smile or engage in conversations apart from her work, was when she was with Cara. If Cara wasn't there, she would be all mean face, with nods when necessary.

Even the numerous girls she had slept with couldn't bring out this side of her. That way it was easier to maintain no attachments with them.

The most important thing in her life was Caramel followed by her work. These two things she cherished.

She was a fashion model in male clothing. Her looks matched with her superb body structure made her photoshoots so amazing that when they appear on TV screens or the cover pages of magazines people couldn't help but marvel at this artistic beauty or rather handsomeness. She was beautiful as well as handsome.

She was known as an all-rounder.

She looked gorgeous in female clothes but not as magnificent as she looked whenever she dressed up in male attire. Kristen was the dream of every lady and the fear of most men. Seeing how irresistible she looked, guys couldn't help but get gripped with the fear of losing their wives, girlfriends, and finances to her.

She had gotten advances from her co-fashion models even from the top official. She wasn't interested in attachment, she would always maintain but anyone that tasted her once would love to have her all to herself.

As far as Kristen was concerned, none of them had gotten an inch closer to breaking those walls of no attachments.

Cara freshened up after she had cookies and burgers, and got busy in the kitchen, she was preparing spaghetti they would eat for lunch. Kristen sat down on one of the chairs and leaned against the table attached to it. Cara had changed into sweatpants and a tank top. Kristen was wearing a baggie of shorts and a sports vest. She liked wearing free clothes at home after being stuffed into tight trousers and shirts at work, sometimes Tuxedos.

Sometimes when she was alone she would go around the house half-naked to get some fresh air.

Sitting in the kitchen keeping her sister company while she cooked and they made jokes together. She figured since she couldn't cook to save her life, she should at least stay with her while they laughed and made jokes together.

Cara was already boiling the spaghetti and cutting the needed ingredients like onions, peas, and carrots but that was after she was done frying the chicken laps.

Kristen sat opposite her admiring the way she cut everything skillfully and with confidence. She seems to be enjoying what she was doing. Anyways, which woman in her right senses wouldn't enjoy cooking, well except her.

The only thing that would bring her near a gas was boiling water for brewing coffee, any other activities except that would be a total disaster, that was if she would even agree to it anyways.

Seeing Cara in that yellow apron cutting those ingredients skillfully reminded her of one person she regretted meeting. Just like she adored Cara's cooking was the way she adored hers. Cooking for her then had been her hobby and just like she sat keeping Cara company, that was the way she would sit and keep her company. They would make turns of jokes while exchanging passionate stares.

Sometimes she would creep behind her back and hold her waist while she cooked. She in turn would bend slightly and rub her ass against her already wet center. They would end up making love right there in the kitchen.

She was skillful and endowed in all ramifications, In the kitchen and in bed. The way her mouth would send her body throbbing with ecstasy. Just then she recollected herself.

'Geez Kris!' She exclaimed inwardly and pushed away the thought from her head. She willed herself to focus on the food being prepared by her one and only sister and not drift away into the world that almost swallowed her very existence.

But that was far from possible as her mind drifted off on its own and into memory lane_ into her past. The thoughts of Taylor taking the chair.
