Chapter 5 I will falter her pride

Chapter 5~ Dante's POV

On my way home with my vehicle still on the road, I was overwhelmed with surprise as I couldn't believe the woman I had a one-night stand with was indeed an employee of my father.

With this thought on my mind, I burst out into laughter as I muttered, "Now, this is going to be fun, more fun for me I guess," so I relaxed properly into my seat, as my driver was still focused on the drive.

A few minutes later, we finally arrived at the Blaze mansion. Getting out of the car, my mother, Tina quickly approached me, wearing a bright smile on her face, "My son," she said with a hint of pride.

"Mom, have missed you," I responded to her, as she gave me a tight hug.

"I did too, you were far from home when your dad told me you were coming, I promise I was more alive," Tina said.

"I know Mom, I know, come on let's go in," I said to Mother, as we both went into the house.

Entering, the servants in the house were already lined up in a straight line, as they began saying "Welcome home, Mr blaze," as I and my mother walked passed them.

Reaching the sitting room, we both had our seats, and swiftly one of the servants brought some refreshments for me, placed it on the mini table in front of me, and left immediately.

Giving a little chuckle, I questioned, "Mom, was all this welcome glamour necessary?" Pouring out my drink.

"What is that supposed to mean, you are my son and I can welcome you back home with every wealth I have, so stop pouring out gibberish from your mouth and take your drink," My mother scolded.

With a slight smile, I responded, "Yes ma'am,"

A few seconds later, while I was sipping my drink and concentrating on my phone, suddenly, my father, Peter walked in, "My son is finally in his home," He said as his face was lit with so much happiness.

"Yes Dad, I am home, though I have been in town for some time without letting you two know," I opened up in response.

"Hmm, I see, All work no play makes Jack a dull boy right," Dad uttered as he took his seat on the couch.

Smirking slightly, I replied, "I apologize for my act, I just needed some time to myself,"

"It's fine, we all have such moments," Father said to me.

And in that instant, I stood up from where I sat, preparing to leave the sitting room. "Mom, Dad, I want to rest, I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow," I spoke out.

"Oh, sure son, Good night" my parents responded in one voice.

"Do you still remember, the way to your room," Mom teased.

"Mom, I'm not a stranger in this house, you know," I said, responding playfully to her words.

"Tina, leave the poor boy alone," My father chimed in.

Without waiting to receive another tease from my mother, I hurriedly walked away from them and yelled from a distance, "Good night," and so I slammed the door of my room, behind me.

Reaching inside, I fell widely into his bed, as I began reliving the memories of the times spent in the room, and instantly, Valerie's image flashed across my eyes as my thoughts now shifted from the memories to the night I spent with Valerie in her apartment.

Laying properly on my bed, I said to myself, "I should call her and perhaps we could have a night like that again, it shouldn't matter to her, I am her boss after all and my orders stand,"

Having that thought, I brought out my phone from my pocket as I stood up from my bed and headed to the balcony of my room allowing myself to witness the beauty of the night.

Witnessing that, I placed a call to the company's secretary to get Valerie's number by deceit, with the phone ringing, my patience was starting to wear out and eventually, the call got connected.

"Good evening Ruth," I started.

"Good evening, please who am I speaking with?" Ruth questioned as her voice sounded hoarse.

"It's your new boss, Dante Blaze," I responded to her.

And swiftly, her voice countenance shifted, "Go-go- good evening sir, I didn't know you were the one on the line," She stuttered, with a mix of fear and respect laced in her voice.

Chuckling a bit, I whined, "It's fine, I expected such an approach from you initially as I called with my number, not the official one,"

"Anyways, I wanted to request Miss Skye's number, it's for an official issue and it's urgent, could you perhaps send it as a text message to me, "I demanded.

"Right away sir, you will see it once this call is over," Ruth replied.

With that, the call got disconnected on both ends and I smiled inwardly, stating, "I guess, even fate wants us to still have a wonderful time together,"

After some seconds of waiting, a beep sound echoed out from my phone as I checked it in a hurry, only for me to see it was Ruth's message of Valerie's number sent, Joy crept on my face as elation was evident in my demeanor of my yet-to-be functioned plans.

"Now, I will call her," I said, with a grin.

So, I typed out the sent number and immediately placed a call to her, the call began ringing but to no avail.

"It might be the network," I murmured silently to myself as I dialed the number once more.

Again the call rang out, but this time it instantly, went into a voicemail.

Still, I didn't give up as I placed the call for the third time, only to find out Valerie's number was switched off.

Realizing this, I smirked, "So she switched off her phone, well I guess, this would be a long one, but making her pay and clipping off her wings, is what I will make sure of, starting from tomorrow," I proclaimed.

And with that, I took my night shower and went to bed.
