Chapter 5 A CERTAIN FEELING

"do you know him that much?" Kai questioned. Rose shook her head , setting her lips in a thin line before responding "not as much as I know you, but maybe if things push forward between us ,I'll get to know home better". She sounded dreamy when she said that.

Kai groaned " you sound like an idiot"

"Seriously,why won't you support me in this ? He's not that much of a bad person " she said to him with narrowed eyes. "Just don't get over excited " he sighed.

"But..." Rose began to retort only to be interrupted by Kai who said " forget it,I got you something".

Immediately,rose became confused,she still had a lot to say but Kai wasn't ready to listen to her,at the same time,she was curious as to what he got for her. She watched him take out a small velvet box "you asked me to bring something back" he Said, stretching his hand forward to give it to her. Rose didn't immediately take it from him, instead she said "I wasn't exactly serious about it,you didn't have to bring anything "

"I wanted to, so take it" he said , leaving no room for argument,he had always wanted to bring this go her,he didn't tell her the content wanting her to see for herself. Rose opened the box and a North star diamond necklace came to view. Her eyes widened in surprise,she stared at Kai who offered her a smile and she couldn't help but think be looks more cute and handsome when he smiles.

She opened her mouth to say"Kai ,this ... this looks expensive... I can't take this" she said while urging him to take it back but the young man didn't bother to move, instead he said "I got it made specially for you and I'm taking it back"

"But this cost a lot of money,did you use your savings to get this" at her words Kai chuckled and shook his head "you don't need to worry about the cost,I had a friend of mine made it so don't worry about it,this gift is for you so accept it"

Rose stared at the necklace that still remained in the box ,she took it , using her fingers and observed it and it's at that moment that she noticed a letter engraved on it. It was the letter R.

"Just so you know it's yours if someone were to steal it" Kai said as if he could read her thoughts. Rose thought the necklace was beautiful which is indeed through,Kai was very thoughtful and she forgot about the small argument they had earlier. Kai took the necklace from her hand and took one step towards her before helping her put it around her neck"make sure not to lost it and it always keep it on" he said and saw her nod where she held the necklace in her hand, wearing a bright smile on her face.

"Thank you" she said in a low voice, something then dawns on her and she asked "you said you'd be back this noon and it's way past noon"

"I got distracted by something" he gave a short explanation as they continued to go on their way. The two stopped in front of kai's house,Kai was about to walk in when he suddenly stopped. He then turned to see rose just standing there and staring at him "you are not coming?" He asked , raising one of his brows. The young girl shook her head in response and saw Kai walk towards her "my mum texted" she explained raising her phone in the air "also I wanted to ask you something" she added.

Kai looked at her curiously, waiting for her to continue,he heard her say "do you think I'll make great model?" Came her question,she wanted the know what he thinks about that.

"Do you wish you be one?" He asked stepping closer to her. Seeing her nod her head, he said " then you'd be a great one, just don't let anyone tell you otherwise". Rose beamed hearing this, she's got a lot of likes posting online and she knew this was only the first step, there are greater achievements to come.

Kai stepped into the house after wishing rose goodbye. The living room was slightly dark thanks to the closed windows and curtains bit only one of them was kept open. The annoyance he felt earlier immediately made its way and he balled his hands inti fists. When he arrived at the field earlier today,he was about to approach rose when he saw Marvin seat beside her, from a distance he watched them up to the time where Marvin went ahead to kiss her on the cheek.

Rose clearly likes the latter but the same couldn't be said about Kai. He wanted to blame it on his irrationality but couldn't since he finds various reasons not to like him.

"Are you getting bored staying here?" Someone asked breaking him out of his thoughts. He turned to see Camila approaching him with a tray of biscuits "no" he responded,his tone barely holding any. emotions. He took a bite from the biscuits and Camila sat beside him. After a few seconds,she said "your father called while you were out,you didn't answer any of his phone calls and he's getting mad".

Kai looked at the woman beside him then he asked "what did you tell him?"

"I said I'll talk to you,he's asking for you to come home

" Was that why you asked if I was bored staying here? you don't have to sound like that if you are trying to convince,it's not going to work " Kai responded. Camila sighed "I was hoping that would be enough reason for you to answer them,they love you and are only looking out for you,it..."

Kai the cut her off "I'll go back soon,you don't have to worry about that although it wasn't particularly necessary for my parents to send you here with me". Camila hummed and nodded"just make sure to call them before you sleep".

Kai didn't bother to argue with her knowing going back home was unavoidable and he wasn't planning on staying away forever, something else was just keeping him waiting.
