Chapter 2 The Beginning cont'd.

With soap all over my body, I tied my towel and went to the balcony to get myself some water to finish up. As soon as I was done, I picked up a pair of baggy jeans and a sweater to wear, went to the kitchen to quickly finish up the sandwiches and cleaned up the messes I made in the kitchen cause if Ary should come back to see all this, I am so dead. I hopped out of the house, closed the door and put the keys under the doormat as instructed, and made sure I didn't forget anything in the house.

As I walked through the main door I asked myself

"Did I forget anything?"

"Naa, I don't think so"

"Way to go girl" I said to myself as I hit the road hoping to see a brighter day ahead.

As i left the house I started walking through the neighborhood hoping to see a bus that's gonna stop and I can manage to sneak in cause I ain't got no money right now and even if I do I'd rather save up than pay for any t fare and right now five different buses have passed and none stopped and I'm freezing already. As I continued to walk I heard some noises ahead and I quickly walked up to the scene to see what's up and to my surprise it's a bus that's probably broken down... yay! I said to myself as I managed to sneak in when the passengers were busy shouting at the driver.

As I got to my destination I started banging the walls of the bus hoping to get the attention of the driver and yeah he stopped trying to figure out what's happening. As he opened the back door from where the sound was coming from, with a huge smile on my face,

"Good morning sir" I greeted trying my best to look cute but I guess that's not really my thing.

The driver shoved me out of the bus as I tripped over my woodland and landed on my ass on a snowbank. Cold wetness burns the back of my thighs as he points his rough fat finger at me.

"How in the name of Jesus did you get on this bus" still trying not to look like a badass I told him how I sneaked in when the bus broke down.

"Come on pay up" that was the next thing I heard him say. Goshhh with all this explanation I just made, didn't he understand I've got no shit with me right now? I mean if I had money would I even sneak in the first place. "You such a dumbass big man" I murmured quietly

"What did you just say" he asked

"Nothing sir" I lied

"Then pay up already I've got no time to waste here" he said

"Well, actually sir I don't have any money on me right now, I mean not even a dime, but you can take me away if you want I'm a good cleaner, in fact squishy clean is my middle name" I said to him grinning like I meant every single word I said, well I can't believe I just said that anyways "Squishy Clean" ewww that's horrible I said to myself.

All of a sudden I saw him walking up to me staring at me as if he's gonna eat me up, he such looks like a Lion ready to pounce on its prey

"Oh, this better be good" I murmured to myself as I stare at him as he continues walking towards my direction

Suddenly I felt a huge grab on my tiny arm as he started twisting my arm "ouch!" I cried out in pain.

" You gotta pay for the fees just like everyone else kiddo and the next time I catch you sneaking on, I'm so calling the cops"

That's if you catch me "Asshole!" I said as I ran away. "I'd rather beg than clean up your mess anyways" I said to myself

"You lil Delilah" he said as he made a snowball to throw at me

"Well I better not catch you next time or ya dead gal" he replied as he walked up to the bus to continue his journey.

"Would you get in already" a passenger shouted out from the bus

"Oh please, I'm coming already... would you rather have me fly?" The driver replied in frustration as he entered the bus and started the engine.

As the bus zoomed off I catched my reflection in the windows: I saw temporary wrinkles on my face, my hair hanging over my forehead with pale skin. Passengers looking through the glass like I'm sort of an alien. But to hell with them and what they think , they don't know me or what I've been through . At such a young age I've been wandering around hoping to survive and they don't know all that and probably if they knew they wouldn't care a shit about it.

Regaining my dignity I hid my face in my palms to warm up my cheeks with my breath . Shit, it just has to be the coldest of the year too.

All I wanted was a lift, just a goddamn lift just to keep my head under this frigid weather but it was so stupid of me to think he'd show any sort of mercy or just a lil bit of kindness. It doesn't matter if a red and green light illuminates the colony or if Santa Claus with his reindeer flies through the billboard above. It's Christmas time in Hawthorne and the only people who care are the ones so rich enough to celebrate it.

Whateves. I'm closer to my destination than ever, right? I have to keep moving .

Like my mother always said "Though the road maybe tough there's always light at the end of the tunnel" I always made sure to have that at the back of my mind.
