Chapter 10 Practice

Hexagon Corporations,

Isla and her other members had been busy since they began rehearsals.

They spent almost all their days in the recording room, memorizing their lines and verses.

Their producer Kim Cheong had earlier given them their parts after each member sang the complete song one after the other.

All left was to keep rehearsing before they began the recording.

It was during those days that the girls were told the title of their debut album by Kim Cheong, and their hearts fluttered.

"The EP consists of only four tracks, and it's called Magic Peach" he had announced. "So you girls would have to memorize the lyrics of the songs so that you wouldn't hold the lyrics note while on stage." He continued, as he proceeded to mention the title of the tracks in the Magic Peach EP.

"Tasty Smiles is your debut title track and it was inspired by hip-hop music, it has fast-paced rap verses, so you rappers must learn to say it verbatim" he coached. "We have Slam Dunk which is in R&B style, got smooth rap verses and not as complicated as Tasty Smiles, then Pretty Devil, this is more like a highschool pop music, groovy and fun beats that would make whoever is listening shake their heads, I love all tracks in this album, but I love Pretty Devil more" he stated in a smile, humming a verse to himself. "Then lastly we got Bada bing Bada boom, a heavy hip-hop inspired music with bass and drum beat, this one has addictive beats and smooth melody"

The girls sighed in relief when he finished, they couldn't wait to record the song before they moved on to other activities.

From the look of things, they might not be able to debut this year.

There were lots of things they had not done, they only started the song recording this week, and they had a week left for that.

Not to talk about learning the choreography, styling, shooting of the music video, and other necessary thing that needed to be done.

"So girls, you have only one week to learn this" Kim Cheong told them. "Usually, idols learn their songs just within three days, but you girls were given a week because it's your debut, so you all must work hard and play less" he instructed. "Now Raine, go!"

Raine was the first singer, she was given that part because of her smooth and beautiful voice, she held her script as she sang according to the tune.

"Filled with ecstasy,

I thought I was imagining

This feeling's so new,

Makes me feel warm too"

That wasn't where the first verse ends, Isla would have to carry on.

"That's good, you sang according to the tune Raine, now just memorize it okay? Isla, you're next"

Isla began.

"Just like how I want it

We strode down the street hand in hand

You gave me extreme joy for the past few days

Baby, my tears are dried"

She sang beautifully, ending the first verse. Even though she already memorized her part, Isla held her script to be sure of what she was saying. Besides, the other members were holding their scripts, so it would be unfair if she wasn't holding hers.

"Beautiful voice Isla, Aerin go!" Kim Cheong was pleased and delighted, he wouldn't go through the stress of teaching them the tune again and again.

Aerin would start the first two lines of the pre-chorus, her deep gentle voice matching the now slow tune.

"The feeling was more like sliding down the rainbow"

While Raine would complete it.

"Yeah that's what I know, and imma gonna say so" Raine sang in English

Kim Cheong clapped his hands in delight. "Good job, now Aerin remember that you will say the word 'rainbow' in English, the lyrics also have some English words, so don't be confused. I know that you girls can pull it off since you're all fluent English speakers"

The girls were pleased with his words.

And as for the chorus, Isla got to say the first line, before Sora, Raine, and all of them together.

Isla: "Cuz you got tasty smiles, all day, all night"

Sora: "And that your tasty smiles gave me sleepless nights all the time"

Raine: "Held my gaze straight into your eyes"

Sora: "I'm obsessed but I'm still shocked"

All: "Yeah I gotta say, gotta say you got a tasty smile"

Kim Cheong danced happily, and his other subordinate also clapped their hands as they watched the girls.

Their voice laced with the tune of happiness made the song more beautiful to listen to.

As for the post-chorus Sora and Aerin had that part.

Aerin: "Tasty, tasty, tasty, tasty smiles

Gotta make you, make you, make you, make you mine"

Sora: "Tasty, tasty, tasty, tasty smiles

Gotta make you mine, gotta make you mine all time"

Even the girls loved their debut title track, sometimes they hummed it all to themselves when they were less busy.

The second verse is where the rap started, Sora would begin the fast-paced rapping.

Sora: "Wanna sing you a serenade

cuz your taste was never man-made

In that resplendent feeling, I just know it ain't what nature says

No amount of wons, n dollars, n yens n bills could buy that taste"

And Raine added in her smooth voice before Isla would continue the rapping.

"No matter how large your money is"

Isla: "When I'm starving, I look at you

Remembering that I got something sweeter than honey

Your smiles gimme the feeling that I'm over the moon

My adrenaline is like a lava flowing inside of me"

Then they took the pre-chorus just like how they took the first one.

But the second chorus was sung by Aerin, Sora, Raine, and all.

The post-chorus by Raine and Isla, while Aerin and Raine settled for the bridge.

Aerin: "Every night I see diamonds in the sky"

Raine: "Seeing that smile got me the feeling that I'm touching the sky"

Together they chorused "Oh oh oh oh sky!"

And then sang the outro which was the combination of the chorus and post-chorus.

Kim Cheong looked at them, his ecstatic feeling couldn't be conveyed by his words.
