CHAPTER 05

It's almost night when Vienna arrives at her house. He is still with Lantsov who will take his car which is still at their house.

When Vien opened the main door, he was greeted by a quiet environment but the house light was on.

Is he here?

Vienna sighed and faced Lantsov. She smiled at the man, he did the same to her. "Thank you for joining me today and also for the chocolates you gave away," he said.

"Don't mention it, Vienna. Go ahead, come in. I'm leaving then, I'll close the gate." Lantsov said with a smile before putting both hands in his pocket. Vien nodded in response. Lantsov slowly walked backwards while still looking at Vien.

"Take care!"

when he got to the car, Lantsov waved and got into his car. It only took a few moments for it to work. Vien followed his friend's car. It stopped for a moment to close the gate and honked twice more before finally leaving.

Vien just laughed before entering the house. He passed through the living room. He saw that Regulus was there. He was sitting on the single sofa while holding a bottle of drink and looking at her.

Vien suddenly swallowed. She can't believe that he's already here.

"R-Regulus, what are you doing there?" Vien stuttered while meeting her husband's gaze. The man was wearing a plain t-shirt and white pants.

"Obviously, I'm waiting for you to come home. You didn't text me nor call me. You didn't come to my company either," he said before drinking again. Regulus was obviously drunk because of the way he spoke.

Vienna's snout lengthened before approaching the man. Using his left hand, he took the bottle she was holding. He can smell the wine. Regulus glared at him.

"Give it back to me," he said emphatically before gesturing his hand in front of Vien. "When have you been drinking?" Vien asked in a serious tone.

"You don't care. Give it back to me," said Regulus. Regulus was about to take the wine when Vien moved a little further and raised the bottle.

"I won't give it back to you unless you'll answer my question,"

"The hell Vienna! I'm not your girlfriend for you to say that!" Regulus said angrily. He stood up and took the bottle from Vienna's hand before heading straight up the stairs.

Vien was stunned by what the man said. she could hear his heavy footsteps until they grew fainter and fainter.

It was as if a dagger was thrust into his heart because of what he said. He held his cheek when he felt water run down his cheek. But he quickly wiped it off and went upstairs. as if nothing happened.

It's one in the morning but Vien still can't sleep. Aside from not eating, her tears couldn't stop when she hugged the pillow on her bed. Well, it's her choice not to eat. He was still hurt.

He was about to try to close his eyes to sleep when the door to his room suddenly opened. His eyebrows meet. He couldn't see who it was because he only had a lampshade, but he already had an idea who it was.

"Regulus?"

no one answered until he gradually reflected it. Vienna's eyes widened in shock. An angry face of Regulus appeared to him and he was carrying a knife.

"I'm so mad at you Vien! Because of you, my girlfriend and I broke up!" he said and suddenly thrust the knife into his chest.

He looked at his chest. It was full of blood as the knife was stuck in his chest. He looked at Regulus with tears in his eyes.

Surprise can be seen in Regulus' eyes as he looks at Vienna. "R-Regulus.. why?"

"MOTHERFUCKER! VIENNA!"

Regulus felt anger and worry now. It was one o'clock in the morning when he woke up and passed through the woman's room. Its room is open. he wanted to scold her for not closing the door but she saw him shaking. He's confused at first.

If he hadn't approached her, he wouldn't have known that the woman was having nightmares. His eyes were closed and he was holding his heart while the tears did not stop falling.

"VIEN! F*CKING WAKE UP, WIFE!"

It's the second time he screams but he still doesn't wake up. He shook it again until it slowly opened its eyes.

Vien suddenly got up and walked away from him. It was like a child who saw a ghost. "Finally, you woke up!" Regulus shouted and stood up to approach the girl on the other side of the bed.

"S-Stay there, Regulus! Don't l-come near me. Don't... don't you dare!" Vien's voice trembled with fear. Regulus suddenly stopped walking.

"Y-You'll kill me, aren't you?" Vien asked still scared. Regulus sighed before answering his wife. "I won't. Why would I do that, huh?"

Vien looked away before hugging herself. He didn't approach the woman for five seconds before he slowly approached Vien.

he sat in front of it. He noticed that the woman still had tears so he wiped them with his finger.

Vienna looked up to him. Regulus smiled slightly even though he was still very nervous for the girl.

"Wait me here, okay? I'm just going to get some water. we'll also talk later," he said before standing up and leaving the woman.

He admitted, he hurt Vienna because of what he said to her. And now, he also wants her to know why he reacted like that after he found out that they were going to get married. he'll tell her also what his Dad told him.

After getting some water, he immediately returned to Vien's room. The woman's position is still the same. He looked up when he entered.

"Here, drink this." said Regulus. Vienna immediately took the glass and drank the water.

"What do you want to talk about?" the woman asked Regulus calmly. He was not looking at her but at his glass with some water left.

Regulus took a deep breath before letting it out. "I.. I'm sorry, Vien. I know I'm being harsh to you these past few days because of what I'm telling you. And it's because of this marriage. I want to talk about it while it's still early. Honestly, I'm only committed to my girlfriend. You already know about him, right?Vien swallowed hard at what Regulus said.

"Vienna, I love my girlfriend so much that's why I agreed to this set-up. I don't want my Dad to ruin her life. I love her so much. I hope you understand why I'm far away from yo, why don't I want to be next to you in bed.if I hurt you with my words, I'm really sorry. I really mean it. I'm also hurt," Vien looked at her husband.

Regulus met Vienna with a look. "I'm also hurt. Not just because of this marriage but also about my girlfriend. We don't have much communication anymore. she's in Canada and I want to go to her but I can't because I'm too busy. And a while ago, Dad called me. He wants us to have a honeymoon vacation this coming Sunday. We'll be there for two weeks. He's forcing me, Vien. I'm choking. i don't know what to do.." a long explanation to Vien. Vien swallowed before speaking. His heart was beating fast.

"I'm sorry too. I feel like, I'm the selfish one here. Even I was shocked then. B-But maybe we can just not follow-" Regulus cut her off.

"You're not selfish, Vien. We're both stuck here. And that vacation, we can continue that. I've been stressed these past days so that's the only way I can think of to relax. We'll go there to create new memories but not as a married couple. we'll go there as bestfriends, like we used to be back then.." Regulus smiled a little after he said that. He had some memories that came to his mind where he was with Vien.

Vienna sighed. now, he wants to tell Regulus how he feels about him, but his tongue is shrinking.

This isn't the right time for him to know what I feel.

Vien sighed again before smiling at Regulus as well. "O-Okay, if that's what you want. I'll deal with it." he said and looked away.

There was silence between the two of them for a few seconds before Regulus broke it.

"I'll go to my room. It's good that somehow we've both clarified about this set-up. Go back to sleep. I'll sleep too." Regulus said calmly before leaving Vien's room.

Regulus looked at the closed door of Vien's room. He felt a little better after his conversation with Vien.

I hope I made the right decision.
