Chapter 4 EPISODE FOUR -

"So how was your first day at work?" Ana asked when they got home.

"I have just one word, horrible, it was horrible," Alice said slumping on the couch tiredly.

"Horrible, why so?" Ana asked sitting beside her.

"Mr Jacob that guy is a pain the butt, I won't deny that he's really good at his job and I learnt a lot from him but he always find a way to downgrade me and makes useless judgemental remarks, saying how i won't be able to do my job well, he also acts as though, he's the owner of the company," Alice said.

"Jacob, don't let him get to you, he has always being that way, looking down on all the newcomers will foot licking the seniors," Ana said.

"I just wish this one week will come to an end soon so he could go to his new position and not bother me anymore," Alice said.

"Awww! Welcome to the life of a career woman," Ana said jokingly.

"You're making fun of me," Alice said with a pout.

"I'm not, I know how to make you feel better, ice cream before dinner," Ana said going to the fridge.

After having the ice cream, they ate dinner, freshen up and went back to bed.

Next Day

Alice got to work and bumped into Sir Anthony and Jacob so they took the elevator together.

"Good morning Sir Anthony," Alice said. "Good morning Jacob," Alice said.

"She will come with us to the meeting today," Anthony said.

"Sir, i don't think she's ready and look she's not even dressed appropriately for a meeting of that scale," Jacob said glaring at Alice.

Ah what did I do this time? Alice thought.

"Then take her to the mall to get her something appropriate," Anthony said and entered his office.

"hmph, aren't you lucky," Jacob said.

"Come on let's go we only have about a hour before the meeting starts," he added.

"There will be no need for that, the clothes I'm wearing is decent enough," Alice said.

"Decent enough doesn't work in this company, it needs to be perfect," Jacob said, snorted and left.

Alice had no choice than to follow behind. He took her to the mall and shopped for cooperate clothes for Alice, she almost had a nose bleed when she saw the bill for everything.

.....

"This are the documents that will be used in the meeting, make thirty photocopy each," Jacob said.

"Thirty! Alice exclaimed.

"Is there any problem? Jacob asked.

"No sir," Alice said.

"Good, work quickly, the meeting wilk start in about twenty minutes," he said and left.

"Jerk he should have told me sooner instead if going shopping," Alice whined as she made her way to the copier.

She was able to finish the work on time because she got help from two of her colleagues that were also in the copier room, she thanked them and left with a cart filled with paper.

"Oh you actually did finish before time," Jacob said.

"I got some help from some kind people," Alice said.

"Oh okay let's go the meeting will soon begin," Jacob said and left leaving Alice to push the cart by herself.

Tch I bet he will be single forever with this attitude, Alice thought and followed him.

The meeting wasn't that important, it was just a meeting with all the board of directors, within two hours the meeting was over.

A Week Later

A week went by slowly for Alice as she tried to endure everything Jacob throws at her, her only consolation was that she wouldn't be seeing him again. She went to visit her parents for the weekend and returned on Sunday evening.

"Mum made some dishes for me to bring back, we will have this for dinner," Alice said.

"Auntie is so kind, how are they?" Ana asked.

"They are fine, they sent their regards I also saw your parents they complained about you not going to visit them, they say you are an unfilial child," Alice said.

"I will go to see them next week," Ana said.

"Do that, they looked really worried about you, I will start looking for an apartment soon," Alice said.

"What's the rush, no one is chasing you out," Ana said.

"I know that but it will be nice to have my own property and not be a nuisance anyway I won't be moving out now, just want to check it out so I can start saving up," Alice said.

"Okay but that will be three months from now or maybe next year," Ana said.

"Okay, okay," Alice said.

"Wait her I will go get some soda," Ana said.

"Okay," Alice said and she left.

Ana returned with the soda, they ate dinner and went to bed.

Next Day

Alice went to work early, today will be her first day working directly with Sir Anthony and Jacob won't be there to nag her. When she got to the office, Alive made a cup of black coffee for her boss and waited for him.

"Good morning Sir," Alice said.

"Good morning," Anthony said.

"I made a cup of coffee for you, I hope you enjoy it, if it's not to your liking you can tell me what you want," Alice said.

"It's okay," Anthony said after taking a sip.

"Is there anything you want me to do for you Sir Anthony, should i get you breakfast?" Alice asked.

"No, take this, it's a list of business sending proposal to the company," Anthony said.

"Research on them and give me a report on the ones we should aquire or the one we just have to invest in," Anthony said.

"You understand how to do that right?" Anthony asked.

"Yes I will have to visit each business to make the research then I will compile my findings to present to you," Alice said.

"Good, take one of the company cars," Anthony said.

"Thank you Sir," Alice said and left.
