Chapter 2 2

I was silently saying a prayer that the automobile wouldn't collide with another one. Just tell him to take it easy for a minute. I would, but then he might not drive me to school.

When I turn eighteen, I'm getting my own car at last.

"Tonight, I'll be attending a concert. Please be my scapegoat. Without looking at me," he uttered it abruptly.

I questioned, "Why?"

"How can I help you? Why am I coming to this concert, and why do you feel the need to cover me up? We both laughed at " his question.

"You can tell me both."

"I'm looking for my mate." Spooky, he said.

"Wow..." The thought of someone I tried to avoid brought my remarks to a halt.

Someone I really wished to forget. The thought of him made my skin crawl.

Not right now. We're not talking about the first day of class.

I need relief from the pain of remembering him.

"The need to track her down is overwhelming. Do you agree with me that I have earned her presence in my life?" He inquired with dullness in his eyes.

My God, he's really starting to act strange.

"That's obvious. However, what about Tiana?" I was sceptical when she recalled her exceptionally pleasant and kind girlfriend.

She performed admirably. I don't know what their deal was, but she was obviously too good for him. How a handsome, black man like Jared could keep a woman like her as his partner for so long is beyond me.

"She doesn't fit in here. Unfortunately for me, the moon goddess did not hand-select her. She is now only an asset." A Remark From Him

When the full import of his words hit me, my throat closed up. I was angry at how he treated her in his remarks.

The fact that I saw my soul mate before he did, despite the fact that he was older than me, really ticks Jared off.

One of the main draws of the pack's warrior faction was the opportunity it presented for him to experience new areas.

"I can't wait until I meet the one. In the shower, I would do all sorts of disgusting things to her." I wanted to plug my ears at what he was saying.

I can't stand to hear my brother say that.

Eeww!

"And I won't abandon her as your moronic partner did. Believe me, this is not your fault. I realised we had pulled up to the school's drive-thru when" he said something and stopped the car.

"I don't give a damn what you have to say. Also, I'm not offended by what you said at all. Smile, " I said.

I got out of the car carefully and locked the door like the mature woman I was becoming.
