Chapter 1 1

"If you dally any longer, you'll have to walk to class. I promise to see to it." Jared made a threatening gesture with his fist and then stormed out of the house, clutching his car keys. In a low voice, I rolled my eyes and snorted. He gave me the cold shoulder and sneered.

My bad, I totally forgot he was a wolf. All in all, it's due to his improved hearing.

My excitement for the commencement of a new semester was at an all-time high. Knowing that I would soon be graduating from high school was a welcome relief.

When a new phrase was coined, I became a one foot (or more) closer to independence. Existential liberty allowed to participate in the pack.

I couldn't start training just yet since would make it hard for me to concentrate in class.

Both of my parents are pack-born, but they raised us kids to be as human as possible and discourage any werewolf tendencies.

The pack of werewolves had a hard time adjusting to modern life. The things that seemed to separate us were actually untrue; I, and the few other young werewolves at my school, took great pride in our identities.

We were secure in our identities and our place in the pack. Our pack warriors were skilled at kicking asses, so no other werewolves dared invade our area.

And the youngsters, as they call us, would run and hide in the kennel. When a wolf from another country was on the loose, it was business as usual.

I guess I'm just going on and on. Umbrie here; "I'm 17 years old and go by that name. age, and the middle child out of three the offspring of my parents and I. Sky, my younger brother, and my older brother. We were a werewolf family from the United"

Always here, in Ice Valley. I was curious about how the group kept going for so long

Having a normal human life while not recognised by a large number of people.

In order to avoid trouble, there were elderly humans who knew but pretended not to. It was plain to see that we had completely taken over the city.

"Umbrie, did you hear what I said?" I sighed inannoyance as Jared's voice cut through.

The bit of pancake I was chewing on disappeared down my throat without my knowledge.

I can't believe I've forgotten where he's been holding me back but all my mind can do is things to go apart at the most inconvenient times.

Before I hurried out the door, I stuffed the last of the pancake into my lips.

Since Sky needed to see the dentist before school, his parents had to leave with him quite early.

It was hard to connect with Jared. His rapid maturation had left him letting his wrath rule over his better judgement.

Since he is so intelligent, he has helped me out by driving me to school on the rare occasions when our parents couldn't drop me off. However, this was still conditional on his good attitude.

His joy is fleeting at best. You should stay far away from him because no matter what happens, his permanent frown will surface.

When he called, I sprinted to his car. given that he had already begun driving engine and was getting ready to leave.

"Did you lock up the house, dummy?" He looked at me intently and inquired.

When I got home, I slammed my fist nervously on the dashboard.

I locked the door and walked normally back to the car instead of racing back like a squirrel.
