Chapter 2 Everything New

Once Angela arrived home she realized that Edward took heed to her words. A moving company was there carefully moving her things into a large truck. She was expecting to see boxes of clothing and papers, but not much else. To her surprise enough furniture to fill her new apartment was being loaded from the house to the moving truck. "I guess Michelle doesn't want many reminders of me around. I don't blame her, I wouldn't want my lover's wife's belongings surrounding me.

Angela gave the house she had made a home one last look, before leaving with her head held high. The neighbors were looking and speculating about what was going on. They were onlookers when her things were initially put out on the lawn as though a tenant was being evicted. Hours later movers were there moving speedily to gather everything stacking and packing it neatly onto the truck. Angela was happy to move into her new apartment. She would have time alone. She didn't want to see Edward or Michelle.

When she arrived at her new apartment she realized this was a new neighborhood for her. It was too upscale to be like the neighborhood she grew up in and it was not upscale enough to be like the one she shared with Edward. This made her happy, she knew she would not run into her soon to be ex-husband or her conniving ex-best friend.

As she supervised the movers unpacking her entire world into a 2 bedroom apartment reality began to set in. Angela realized her 10 year wedding anniversary had turned into her introduction into life as a divorcee. Angela thought about how she would have to start life all over and now everything would have to be new. She has been a stay at home wife since they got married right after high school. Everyone knew that Edward was brilliant and that he was going places. No one was more confident of that than Edward, except maybe Angela. Edward never wanted his wife to work, so she stayed home and managed the home and all that entailed. The same man who once loved and cherished her had just thrown her to the streets.

This was not the man she married. He too had become new. He rejected her and on one of the most important days of her life. He had no regard for her feelings, he was cold, devoid of compassion, and seemingly angry. Had she become such a burden to him that he now hated her?

"I can't sit here and sulk. I have to hit the floor running." " I am glad I kept my surprise a secret. It is exactly what I will need to start fresh. Angela grabbed the stack of papers that were in her bag at the restaurant. She looked over the important papers knowing that she had secured herself and did not know it at the time she was doing it. She poured over financial statements, the two degrees she had secretly obtained, and the coursework for the her last semester to complete her third degree. I have what I need to put a plan in motion, now I have to formulate my plan.
