Chapter 5 You have to stay right

Xavier immediately rushed out of the room upon hearing Nadira's shout. Xavier didn't know the direction of his wife's scream, so he was confused about where to step. Until finally, the scream was heard again, making Xavier sure it came from the first floor. Xavier descended the stairs after that and headed straight to the backmost room of the house. Xavier also didn't know what room it was, as he hadn't had the chance to familiarize himself with the layout of their new home.

"Where is she?" Xavier asked when he encountered one of the servants. Xavier hadn't hired more servants yet; it seemed his grandmother had only placed a few servants to clean the house until they moved in.

"I'm sorry, Sir. I also just heard the Lady's scream," the servant replied, then followed Xavier's long strides.

"Nadira!" Xavier called out, as there was no more sound of Nadira, but Xavier was sure Nadira was around at the moment.

"Nadira!" Xavier shouted while scanning his surroundings.

"Xavier, I'm here, I'm locked in," Nadira said, accompanied by the sound of banging on the door, making Xavier immediately look at the servant.

"Is there someone who locked her in there?" Xavier asked, making the servant shake his head.

"Apologies, Sir. I forgot to mention that the back storage room door has a problem; it's stuck. So earlier, I intentionally opened it, but I didn't know the Lady would enter," the servant explained, making Xavier sigh in frustration.

"In that case, get someone to open this door before we hear her scream from inside again," Xavier said, making the servant finally nod. After that, the servant left Xavier, who was now walking towards the door.

"Are you inside?" Xavier asked, making Nadira bang on the door again.

"Yes, I'm inside. Hurry, open the door!" Nadira shouted, causing Xavier to snort in annoyance.

"I can't, the door is stuck. So, for a while, you might have to stay in there," Xavier said, making Nadira immediately protest from inside.

"Do I have to wait? That's not possible. There might be bugs or rats in here!" Nadira exclaimed, making Xavier glance briefly at the dark gap under the door.

"Are you sure the light can't be turned on?" Xavier asked again.

"I don't know. I couldn't even find the switch to turn it on. When I entered the room, it was already dark. I was just curious about what room this was, but the door closed right away," Nadira replied, leaving Xavier momentarily silent.

"Alright, then, just wait in there calmly. There will be a servant who will bring the door repairman here," Xavier said. However, as he was about to step away, Nadira stopped him once more.

"Where are you going?" Nadira asked.

"I'm tired, I need to rest," Xavier replied curtly, prompting Nadira to respond quickly.

"No, you can't. You have to stay right in front of this door. Don't go anywhere until the repairman arrives," Nadira said.

"Why should I do that? It doesn't benefit me. Instead of waiting here, I'd rather lie down. Besides, nothing serious will happen inside," Xavier said, completely ignoring Nadira and her shouts. Despite hearing alarming shouts, Xavier chose to disregard them. He then crossed paths with a servant.

"So, did you get the door repairman?" Xavier asked, making the servant shake his head.

"I tried calling, but it didn't connect," the servant replied. Xavier then looked towards the large house he had just moved into.

"How many servants are here?" Xavier asked again.

"The female servants are me and my friend who happened not to stay here tonight, but she will sleep here in the future. After that, there's the gardener and the security guard," the servant answered, making Xavier nod his head. It seemed like he really needed to hire more household staff because if they were too few, they would surely complain about their heavy workload.

"Alright then, quickly find the door repairman in person. If we wait too long, he might run out of voice yelling back there," Xavier said, making the servant nod. After that, Xavier returned to his room, as he had told Nadira earlier that he would rest.

Before that, Xavier chose to clean himself up first because his whole body felt sticky. Once he showered, Xavier felt a bit of relief, as some of the chaos in his mind seemed to clear. Although not entirely free of thoughts about Anita, at least he could rest a little. Xavier finished his shower but then remembered that Juna had not yet arrived to bring him his clothes. So he had to settle for wearing a bathrobe.

Xavier then went back to the side of the bed and checked his phone. There were several emails from the office and no messages from Anita. This made Xavier decide to lie down.

Xavier didn't know he would immediately fall asleep just like that when his head touched the pillow. Even his soft snores were audible, making Xavier appear peaceful and serene in his sleep. Xavier didn't know how long he had been asleep until he woke up from a slightly disturbing dream. This prompted Xavier to sit up, and he hadn't even closed the curtains yet. Finally, Xavier chose to look at the nightstand clock, which showed it was 11:00 PM.

"Oh, darn, why did I have to wake up," Xavier muttered, starting to stretch his body. Then he remembered why Juna had not yet arrived to bring his belongings. Xavier immediately contacted his assistant.

"Hello, Juna, where are you?" Xavier asked.

"Sorry, sir, I was supposed to go straight to your house, but there's a bit of a problem at our hotel. So, I had to stop by the hotel first, and right now, I still haven't finished my work here. Would it be alright if I bring your luggage after I'm done with my tasks here?" Juna said on the other end, making Xavier sigh deeply.

"Where's Ridho then? Wasn't he supposed to handle all the hotel work?" Xavier asked again.

"Actually, Ridho is still on sick leave, sir, so I had to deal with it, and I couldn't call you because you were attending your wedding. But don't worry, sir, I can finish it, maybe in a little while," Juna explained, causing Xavier to nod. Juna wasn't given the title of secretary because he mainly handled Xavier's personal matters. So, Xavier placed him as an assistant, although sometimes he was involved in hotel affairs too.

"Alright, it's up to you," Xavier said, then hung up the phone. Xavier then felt his throat was dry, and on his nightstand, he hadn't provided any water. It seemed he had to remind the servant to take care of his room. Xavier finally got up from his seat and went downstairs, still wearing his bathrobe because he couldn't put on his clothes yet. Slowly, Xavier headed to the kitchen, grabbed a drink, and sipped it slowly.

However, Xavier felt like there was something he had forgotten, but he couldn't remember it. He shrugged it off and was about to return to his room. However, his steps were halted, and he stared towards the room at the back of his house. Something seemed to have caught his attention.

"Has she managed to get out?" he mumbled, finally making Xavier walk closer to the back room where Nadira had been earlier. However, Xavier furrowed his brow when he saw that the door was still closed. Xavier tried to open it, but the door was still locked.

"Don't tell me the servant didn't call the locksmith," Xavier muttered again, then attempted to knock on the door.

"Nadira, are you still inside?" Xavier called out, but there was still no response. This prompted Xavier to immediately go back to find the servant.

"I haven't even asked the servant's name yet," he said again, choosing to walk towards what he thought was the servant's room. Xavier immediately knocked on the door, and the servant appeared.

"Sorry, sir, how can I assist you?" the servant asked.

"Why is the door at the back still locked? Has the locksmith not arrived yet?" Xavier asked, causing the servant to look slightly surprised.

"I already told the security guard out front to call the locksmith. I didn't double-check," the servant replied with a hint of guilt, making Xavier growl in frustration.

"Quick, call the security guard," Xavier said, finally prompting the servant to call the security guard. Somehow, they had a miscommunication, and they hadn't even contacted the locksmith. Xavier was starting to feel frustrated with their lack of focus on their tasks. Maybe it was because it was his first day at the house, so they were a bit lax, Xavier thought. He instructed them to find the locksmith immediately.

Xavier rushed back to the rear warehouse and tried knocking on the door again. "Nadira, can you hear me?" Xavier asked, attempting to shake the door in front of him a bit, but there was still no response.

"Is she asleep?" Xavier muttered, trying to calm himself down. Xavier wasn't worried, but he was a little afraid that something might have happened inside. Although he was sure it wouldn't be anything harmful because he believed Nadira was safe in there. There couldn't be anything sharp, criminals, ghosts, or anything else that could harm Nadira.

Finally, Xavier decided to wait for the locksmith, even though it took a bit longer, and it took about 40 minutes for the door to open. Xavier immediately swung the door wide open and saw Nadira lying there with a pale face. Xavier rushed closer.

"Nadira, what happened to you?" Xavier exclaimed, then touched Nadira's body, which felt very cold, causing Xavier's eyes to widen.
