"Hey! Open the Door talk to me I shouted, but there was no response. Manang arrived, and I immediately had him open the door. Inside, I saw him lying on his bed and sleeping.
"Hey!" I called.
"Yay!" I exclaimed, causing the room to tremble. I grew even more anxious, fearing he hadn't truly awakened. Swiftly, I carried him out of his room.
"Who's there?! Is Eya's Mommy here or her Daddy?!" I inquired anxiously.
"Ms. Elaine is the only one here. Let me call her," he responded, clearly as nervous as I was. After a while, his sister arrived.
"What happened?!" she inquired.
"I don't know, but let's take him to the hospital," I suggested, and he nodded.
Hospital
"Doctor, how's my brother?" Elaine asked, clearly worried about Eya.
"Don't worry, he's okay. He just passed out from stress and lost consciousness due to hunger," the doctor reassured me. I hung my head, knowing it was partly my fault.
"But she's fine. She needs to rest, and when she wakes up, make sure to feed her," the doctor advised.
"Thank you, doc!" Elaine expressed her gratitude. The person in charge of Eya came out and turned to me.
"You didn't go inside," he pointed out, and I simply smiled.
"It's okay. It's my fault that he's here," I said while looking at Eya.
"Did you two have a fight?" it asked.
"Something just happened," I replied with a bitter smile.
"Take care of my sister, Daniel. She only follows you. You know she must be stressed lately because of Mommy," he said, and I nodded.
"I don't know why Eya is mad at me. I feel like Mommy is hiding something from me," he said.
"I tried to talk to her about your issue, but you know how stubborn your sister is," I said.
"Yeah. I love my sister, Daniel. I don't know how I can get close to her," he said while looking at Eya.
"I hope you can convince him to talk to me so I can know why he's mad at me," he said, and I nodded.
"I will try," I promised.
"Thanks, Daniel. I'm going out first. I'll just call Daddy first," he said, and I nodded. Then, I approached Eya and held his hand tightly, kissing it.
"L-Leave me alone," I heard him say suddenly, and I was surprised. I immediately looked at him because he was already awake.
"Eya..." I called his name and approached him.
Here's the English translation of the conversation:
"You have a fiancée, right?"
"Are you still talking to me, Sister?!"
"Are you mad at me?" he asked with tears welling up in his eyes.
M: "Of course not. It's okay. I'm sorry, please!" I said while holding his hand.
I don't It!" he said while looking away.
"Elyanna please!" I said while squeezing his hand.
"I want to go home," he told me.
"No. You need to rest," I said, but he shook his head.
"I want to go home!" he said grumbling and removing what was in his hand, so I immediately stopped him.
"Hey! Listen to me, I'll talk to the doctor later, but rest first," I said seriously, and he looked at me badly.
"What do you want me to do, that's for your sleazy fiancée!" he said, so I held my breath and looked into his eyes. "I'm sorry I hurt you," I said.
What's that, I'm sorry! You're so poor, Eya. I'm sorry," he shouted to himself, so I bowed down.
M: "Don't torture me like that, Elyanna. I'm also hurting because I'm hurting you," I told him, so he shut up and wiped his tears.
"W-Don't worry, I'll forget you too! There are so many handsome men at school!" he said, still crying. I didn't speak, so he looked at me. "I-I said I'd find someone else!" he shouted, and I nodded, so he cried even more and took the pillow and hit me and threw stones at me. "You're bad!!" he shouted and turned his back on me.
Tonight I took Eya Home with me because of her insistence earlier. "T-Thank you for the ride," he said as he turned his back on me, so I grabbed his wrist and hugged him from behind. "I'm sorry," I promised. "W-Don't be sorry! It's like you're just telling me that it's wrong for me to like my best friend," he said, crying. "Are you going to avoid me?" I asked as I buried my face in his neck. "I want to, but I can't, Dane. You know how much I love you; you know that, so please stay away," he said, and I shook my head.
"You have a fiancee, and you don't love me, so how can I fight, Dane? If you only love me, I'm ready to fight for you, no matter who the devil or devil is... It hurts even more than thinking that you're gay, I can understand and accept that case better." He said, which is why I let go of him and turned away from him.
"Goodbye! Be careful driving." He said without looking at me, so I got into my car and left. "Why am I such a coward?!" I said angrily to my brain and punched the steering wheel.
Eya avoided me for several days, even though I always waited for him outside the campus, or even when he was always the first to leave the class, or when he was absent or cutting. There are people hanging around him who were not there before! He gives something and accepts it with a smile.
"Is he really serious! It's nice to put it in a sack and lock it up forever in my house, I did it but it's not possible.
In the afternoon, I met him on the stairs, but he didn't pay attention to me, so I didn't say a word as I carried him on my shoulder. He was struggling, but I held him tightly. I took Eya to the rooftop, I also locked the door first so no one would disturb us.
"What the hell, Daniel?!" He said angrily when I got off him as he looked around and then back at me.
"What do you need?" I asked, and he stopped.
"I miss you so much!" I added and looked away.
"And so?! What can I do!" he said while swallowing hard, his arms folded.
"Can't we just go back to the way we were before, Eya?" I said seriously, and he looked at me with disdain.
"How about Dane? It seems like it's easy for you, because you don't love me," he said, and I grabbed his hand, but he just shook it."
"I love you, Dane, but I'm not stupid! I let you go for the sake of your fiancée, Pete. Do you understand me, Dane?" he said, and I shook my head. He took a deep breath.
"So that's it?! Are we going to forget everything we've had together for five years, huh?" I said, trying to calm myself down.
"Don't do this to me, Dane. Don't bring up our memories because nothing will change," he said as if I had abandoned him.
"Elyanna Louise Samonte..." I called her. "After this school year, I'm leaving," I added, and he stopped walking, suddenly looking at me.
"What... do you mean?!" she asked, tears welling up.
"I'm leaving with Vanessa," I said, bowing my head.
"Why?" she asked, tears streaming down her face.
"Dad wanted us to go to college in the States and get married there too," I explained, bowing my head.
"You're right! You have so many secrets from me... And you're telling me now?!" she cried. I approached her and tried to hug her, but she pulled away, leaving me with closed eyes.
"Please don't avoid me... I want to be with you during my one-month stay here, please!" I said, tears streaming down my face as I tried to hold her hand.
"When are you coming back?" she asked.
"I don't know. Maybe not!" I said, so he cried even more and hit me, and I just let him.
"You're tricky... I'll leave you. I love you," he shouted while still not stopping hitting me.
"Didn't you say you don't love him? Would you stay with him and leave me?" he said, still not stopping, crying.
"I'm sorry."
"You're just sorry!" he shouted.
"That's all I can say, Eya. I hope you'll forgive me," I said and moved away from him.
"Okay, fine. Since I'm fragile because of you, I'll forgive you," he said, so I smiled and thanked him, then hugged him tightly. I noticed what he was wearing.
"Didn't I tell you last week to wear a proper uniform?" I said while wiping the tears from his cheeks, but he only made me suffer.
"Tomorrow!" he said, so I laughed and held his hand.
"Thank you so much, Eya!" I said, and he just smiled.
"Can I stay over with you for the entire month before you leave?" he suddenly asked. I stared at him, unsure, and eventually nodded.
"I'll need to inform your Dad first," I replied, and he nodded in agreement.
When we approached them, Uncle Hernan, Aunt Liza, and Elaine were present.
"Hello, Uncle, Aunt! Good afternoon," I greeted them.
"Oh, hi! How are you?" Aunt Liza inquired, causing me to smile.
"It's alright," I replied, glancing at Eya, who remained unresponsive, standing beside me and examining her nails.
"Hey!" I said softly, trying to get a reaction out of her.
"Hi!" he responded, making me hold my breath, as did Uncle Hernan.
"Um, by the way, Uncle, I need your approval. Is it okay for Eya to stay over with me?" I asked.
"It's fine, she's always staying over with you, right?" he said, smiling.
"For the entire month," I added, noticing their surprise.
"Why is it such a long stay?" Uncle Hernan inquired.
"I'm leaving for the United States next month," I explained.
"Oh yeah! For your wedding, right?" Tito asked, so I immediately looked at Eya. "You know?!" Eya asked angrily, so I immediately held her hand to calm her.
"Yeah, Daddy told me last year," Uncle said, which was why the annoyance on Eya's face was obvious.
"Um, that's it. Is it okay?" I asked.
"Okay, sure, no problem. You're still family to me," Tito said, so I thanked him and noticed that Eya had left us.
"What happened?" Uncle asked.
"Nothing. She's just in a really bad mood today," I replied, and he simply nodded.
Elyanna's Point of View (POV)
I'm here now at Dane's house, organizing the things I brought for my stay. I also have a few items in Dane's closet. Actually, I'll be sleeping in the guest room. It feels a bit awkward because ever since I found out he's not really gay, we've been close. Maybe that's why I'm so attached to him, knowing there's no hidden agenda. But my feelings for him are genuine; it's just my own foolishness getting in the way.
"I'm afraid that by doing this, I might attract unwanted attention, but I don't know what else to do. Whether he's real or not, he won't be mine anyway," she thought.
"Are you finished?" Dane suddenly asked, interrupting her thoughts. She stopped and smiled at him.
"Not yet," she replied. "You came over to help me with what you were doing."
"I'm cooking your favorite dish," he said, and she stared at him.
"Um... Thank you," she said, then returned her attention to her task. It felt strange to see and hear him like this; his voice was no longer cheerful but sounded almost sad. She heard him taste the food, so she glanced at him.
"I'll serve it first, just follow me," he said, and she nodded. They exchanged another glance because things didn't seem quite right. However, he proceeded, and when she was left alone, she sat down and held her fast-beating heart.
I nodded and shook my head a few times as I packed my things and reorganized my household. When I came downstairs, I saw her busy cooking, so I approached her and asked, "Where's Aunt Mariel?" It then dawned on me that it was just the two of us here.
She replied, "Um, she's in the office right now, and Daddy is taking care of something." I nodded in understanding and asked, "Did they know I would be staying here for one month?"
"Yeah," she said as she continued to work on the ingredients, "I texted them a while ago."
I couldn't help but admire his cooking skills, which made me doubt the rumors about him being gay.
Suddenly, he asked, "Are you okay?" I was taken aback and stammered, "Huh? Um... Yeah! I'm fine." I noticed him staring at me for an extended moment, so I quickly averted my gaze.
"Why do I feel like you don't forgive me?" he asked, making me look at him immediately. I shook my head repeatedly and said, "N-No! I mean..."
