Chapter 3 A look into the past

Riley can't go a day without her morning coffee.It's always a normal trip to the Cafe but that morning was rather a surprising one.Outraged because the barista took so long before giving her the coffee, she missed a step as she turned around and spilled it on a tall blond man."Darn it!, Can't people see anymore?,can't you watch where you're going? "Riley said as she lifted her head to see who the person was.

"Bryan?,wait, is that you?" Riley said."Riley?" said Bryan with a glorious smile on his face.Riley and Bryan literally lived in the same neighbourhood when they were little,they went to the same middle school and high school. Bryan was rather gullible and more of a scaredy cat during their school days.He would follow Riley around all the time.The two of them started developing feelings for each other when they reached highschool. They eventually made it official and were boyfriend and girlfriend but it was short lived. Riley caught Bryan kissing Ashley, the president of the debate team which he belonged and broke up with Bryan the next day.Bryan tried to explain to Riley that Ashley kissed her out of the blue just when she arrived and that nothing was going on between them but Riley was keen on what she saw.That was the end of both their friendship and relationship until they met again at the coffee shop.Unlike Riley, Bryan was so excited to meet Riley again,he told her she was looking great and asked how she was doing but she just kept looking at him.Riley struggled to smile as the ghost of the past visited her,she remembered why she broke up with Bryan and walked away from him,"Riley! Riley! Riley!"Bryan called out to Riley but she never turned back.
