Chapter 5 On the Run

After having breakfast together, Bastian took Renata to his house. Bastian got off the car and walked towards the passenger door, then opened the door for Renata.

Rena got out of the car and smiled at Bastian. "Thank You."

"You're welcome. Get some rest," said Bastian, stroking Renata's head.

"RENATA!" The shriek made Renata startled, and they both turned to the source of the sound, where Dave walked towards them.

"Daddy?"

"Ah!" Renata screamed in surprise when Dave threw his fist at Bastian's jaw, causing him to shake slightly and leave a torn wound in the corner of his lip.

"Doctor Bastian!" Renata was about to help Bastian, but Dave's hand grabbed Renata's arm first.

"Father, let me go!"

"Come in, Ren!"

"I don't want to. Doctor Bastian was injured," said Renata.

"Come in, Renata!"

Dave threw his grip until Renata was pushed two steps back.

"Enter. Don't make Daddy angry!" he snapped.

Renata looked alternately at Dave and Bastian with a misty gaze filled with tears.

"ENTER!"

Hearing the first shout from her father made Rena unable to stop herself from crying. He ran into the house, where he was immediately greeted by Agneta.

"Tsk, it turns out that her own daughter is also very rude!" exclaimed Bastian, smiling mockingly.

"Stay away, Renata!" Dave's words were emphatic.

"What if I say no? What are you going to do, Mr. Wiratama?" asked Bastian, as if challenging Dave.

"I already know who you are. Tell Julian, if he wants to fight me, face me head-on. Don't send an inexperienced brat like you who tries to take advantage of an innocent girl like Renata!"

"It turned out that he was caught very quickly," said Bastian, putting his hands into his trouser pockets.

"Stop bothering my daughter! Because I will not hesitate to kill you!" Dave said it emphatically.

Bastian chuckled as if mocking Dave.

For a moment, his facial expression turned serious with a hardened jaw. "Life must be paid with life, Mr. Wiratama. You think I will obey you just because of that small threat?"

Bastian walked closer to Dave until they were only 50cm apart.

"We'll see who gets hurt in the end. You or your daughter!" said Bastian emphatically, and he walked away, leaving Dave still standing where he was.

Agneta was trying to calm Renata, who was still crying in her arms.

The sound of the door being opened loudly made them both scream in surprise and look at the source of the sound, where Dave walked into the room.

Agneta let go of Renata's embrace, and they both looked at Dave, who was glaring at his daughter.

"Tomorrow you will go to Britain. Live there with your Brother!" Dave said it emphatically.

"I don't want to! I have to finish my koas!" said Renata.

"No more koas. Stop doing stupid things! Even without you becoming a Doctor, you already have everything without any flaws!"

"I don't want to. My dream is to become a doctor," sobbed Renata. "Why did dad do this to me? Is it wrong if I love a man? I love him, Dad," Renata sobbed.

"Forget her. Daddy can set you up with a better man than him. Don't ever have anything to do with him again, or I won't hesitate to marry you off to the man I chose!" Dave said it firmly.

"Why is Father treating me like this? You can even choose your own partner. Why can't I? I love her," Renata sobbed.

"To hell with Love. Forget her! He just wants to play with you!"

After that, Dave walked away, leaving Renata, who could only sob.

"Mother..." Renata whined, hoping her mother could help.

"I'm sorry, dear mother. You better follow your father's words," said Agneta, who understood her current condition. So far, Dave has never been harsh or rude to his sons and daughters, even though he is very firm. This was the first time Dave had been so adamant against his daughter, and Agneta was sure something was up with the man. Agneta believes her husband will do the best for his children.

Agneta brought Renata's head back into her arms.

Renata and Dave had just arrived in Britain. They land the helicopter on the roof of the Gonemanus mansion. They were greeted by Angela, Regan, and Benneit.

"Sis Angela!" Renata threw her body into Angela's arms.

Angela rubbed Renata's back gently. Dave shared a brief hug with Regan and Benneit.

After that, Angela took Renata to the room that had been prepared for her. Meanwhile, the men headed straight to Benneit's office to negotiate.

"Why did you do this to me?" Renata sobbed again on the side of the bed. "Even Big Brother can choose his own partner; why can't I?"

Angela sighed with a small smile. He walked over to Renata and sat beside her.

"Rest assured, this is for your own good," said Angela.

"My goodness, what? Even Sis. Angela supported my father's decision. I love Doctor Bastian; why are you all against him anyway?" asked Renata, and the more she cried, the more Angela couldn't bear to see her.

"Renata, actually, Doctor Bastian is the son of your father's enemy; he is a mafia in Switzerland. He approached you only to carry out his mission of revenge on your family, "explained Angela.

Renata frowned at her sister-in-law.

"Sis Angela is lying. How could Doctor Bastian be a mafia member?He's a good man, even very gentle with each of his patients. How is it possible that a person who always saves a patient is a mafia member?" Renata didn't believe Angela's words at all.

"Your father and brother have been investigating it all this time. We're just worried about you," said Angela and Renata, only silent, accompanied by tears.

"I want to be alone."

Renata's words clearly kicked him out. But Angela understood her current state.

"Okay. If you need anything, just call me," said Angela, stroking Renata's head and walking away, leaving Renata, who was contemplating, alone.

Renata contemplates herself alone in her room. He thought about every word Angela said about Bastian trying to deceive and take advantage of him. That Bastian has not really loved her. But on the other hand, Renata remembered how Bastian cared for his patients, how the man treated his patients gently and sometimes comforted young children. How could such a nice man be a mobster who used to kill people?

Renata really couldn't believe Angela's words. Are they concerned about Bastian's social status as only a doctor?

For a moment, Renata remembered the morning when she woke up and found herself not wearing a single piece of clothing. But on the other hand, he found no traces of blood. He was sure he was still a virgin because he had kept his chastity so far. But sometimes blood does not come out when having intercourse for the first time.

Remembering that, Renata imagined what would happen if she got pregnant with Bastian's child. Will his family reject the presence of the child and instead throw him away?

Renata felt her head almost explode. Too many things filled his head. Not to mention, he had to sacrifice his dream to become a doctor.

"Why is no one on my side?" muttered Renata, who could only cry.
