Chapter 9 The new school

Today is the day Marvin is leaving for school. He was having mixed feelings, happy and sad at the same time. Happy because he was going to see his friends again, but sad because he was leaving little Chloe and his lovely mom. He went to the kitchen to help his mom with the last time. He set the table for breakfast and packed the cookies into his lunch bag. Chloe came after with Elliot, She looked adorable in a flower dress with her school. Chloe was ready for school, Marvin gave her a peg and they did their greeting sign language.

Lucy watched them from the table and asked them to sit down and eat. Marvin took the plate of rice dished his and passed it on. Elliot ate a little kissed Lucy gave Marvin a piece of advice and some bundle of money and left for work. Lucy asked the driver to come for the things and she sat at the front seat. Marvin sat at the back with Chloe. They started playing games and Chloe asked Marvin why a lot of things were in the car. He said he was leaving her and mommy. Chloe started crying and shouting that he should leave. They get to Chloe's school and she doesn't want to come out of the car she is holding Marvin's shirt. Marvin for down with her and went inside the school with her. She stopped crying when she saw her friends. Marvin came back to the car and the driver drove off to Marvin's new school. He was in the back seat feeling unusual. One part of him wants to start a conversation with his mom the other doesn't want him to. So he gave up and sat quietly looking outside the car at the big building. Lucy kept quiet throughout the drive to the school. She doesn't want to say anything else she will cry. Marvin didn't know he had fallen asleep on their way to the school, he woke up at the sound of the car horn. He got up and saw a big and nice building with the inscription, Eastwood College. He saw how nice the school was with street lights and small gardens around. He saw the administration block so nice to his former school. He got down immediately and packed the things out, his mom helped him inside his room. He saw that he would be leaving here with another person, it's two in a room. His mom inspected the room and told him to handle his things well. After packing his mom and the driver left saying goodbye to him. He felt lonely when they left and thought of taking a troll around the school. He saw the library, the teacher's, and the canteen. He came back to his room feeling tired. He opened the door only to see that his roommate was no other person but Walker. He felt happy and hugged him because it's been a while since they saw each other. Meanwhile, his mom had reached home and was feeling lonely. She went to her room and came up with the idea of setting up a business since she knew how to design and draw nice dresses and tops. This will at least keep her active. So she will wait and discuss it with Elliot in the evening when he comes back. She fell asleep on the bed. The driver went for Chloe from school. Chloe went to her brother's room and couldn't find him so she went to her mom's room. Lucy woke up when she saw the door opened by Chloe. She asked her what was wrong and she said were is Marvin. Lucy lied that she had sent him and he would come home tomorrow. Chloe said okay and left the room.

Marvin woke up early and called Walker to go and take his bath. He dressed up and packed his book to class. On his way to class, he saw that everyone was staring at him. He was wondering if something was wrong with him. He just shook his head and went on. He placed some of the books into the locker and locked it. He entered the class and still saw that eyes were on him. He walked to the far end and took his seat. He was about to open his book when the notorious boys came up to him. They warned him to stay away from the girls since every girl in the school was talking about the new handsome student. He just said okay so that he wouldn't get into trouble with those rascals. He now understood all the staring and eyes on him everywhere. Lucy told Elliot about her plan and he was very happy for her. He said he would even give her some of his rich client's wives' cards to come and purchase them. Lucy told him she just wanted to handle everything on her own. He understood her and gave her a hug. Lucy came up with a name for her clothing and designs. She decided to use M and C designs and fabric. The combination of her children's names M for Marvin and C for Chloe. She was very happy Elliit liked the idea. She started with her flyers and designs, She will exhibit her designs the day she opens the business worldwide. Lucy started making plans for everything and even forgot that she was lonely. She called and sent messages to some companies dealing with fabrics. She worked all day without even noticing that it was late. She went to the kitchen and prepared the evening meal. In the evening Chloe asked her the same question again, she was about to answer when the had a phone call. She excused herself and thanked God for that savior who called. It was a message from the clothing factory, they wanted to know if they should bring the goods tomorrow she said yes and ended the call. Marvin went to the library to study as usual. He met Masha there and he was about to walk on when she stopped him. She decided to tell him the truth, she said she loved him and didn't like the way Stephanie danced with him at the party, so she decided to move on and avoid him. Marvin was shocked and told her, he didn't even have any feelings for Stephanie and he accepted the dance because it would have been rude if he hadn't danced with her. He hugged her and told her that he hadn't got eyes on anyone besides focusing on books as he was told to do so. Masha was okay now and left for the next class. Marvin thought of what Masha had just said and asked himself if he also had eyes for her. He just swept that thought over and walked to his room. Lucy was very happy at the arrival of her goods, she directed them to send everything to the warehouse. Tomorrow was the day she would showcase her business to everyone and she didn't want anything to go wrong. She went to the room and made some inquiries about everything. She fell asleep on the bed. Elliot came home early today he wants to help her with tomorrow's event. He entered the room and found out that she was fast asleep, he didn't want to disturb her so closed the four and left for his office. He called to invite some of his friends and workers to come tomorrow to support his wife. He later left after he was done with everything. Lucy had woken up by then when he entered, he kissed her and asked how the arrangement was going for tomorrow. Lucy said everything was fine. They went downstairs to eat their meal. Chloe was happy today because she had the best color drawing so she even forgot to ask about Marvin. Chloe went to pick up her book to show it to her parents, Elliot saw that Chloe was just like Lucy when he saw the drawings. He was happy for such a beautiful family here. Chloe helped her mom pack the kitchen and left for her room. Today was the day everyone has been waiting for. The place was nice and well-arranged thanks to Elliot for supporting her. Lucy looks elegant and beautiful in her lace gown and sparkling heels. Elliot couldn't take his eyes off his wife he was proud of her. The guests started coming and everywhere became busy with people walking here and there. Lucy waited for some time to announce the reason why everyone was invited. She walked briskly to the stage and took the microphone, all eyes on her. She introduced herself and told them about her new clothing and designs. She finished the speech and everyone started clapping for her. Someone asked if the lace was designed by her, and she said yes. Everyone was amazed, some asked her for the same style to give to their seamstress to see for them. Lucy spoke to a lot of people that day. Some of the businessmen hugged her and congratulated her for such a nice clothing and design business. Elliot was so proud of her, at least a good woman helping him to climb the ladder. The opening of the business came to an end and everyone left. Lucy asked the workers to tidy up and left with Elliot to their room. He congratulated her and said today they would go outside to eat because she had a tough day. She changed and sat down to do a few analyses before they went out. Chloe came to their room, she looked so adorable in her dress.
