Chapter 8 Departure

Today was the departure of Elliot. He was going to a 2-week conference about the new contract. Lucy was feeling miserable and kept pondering over it. Marvin was done with the exams so he had no class to attend today since he was waiting for the result. He kept his mom accompany when his dad left afterward. On their way from the airport, Marvin told the driver to stop them at the mall. They got to the mall and the car came to a halt. Lucy wondered why because they hadn't reached home yet. Marvin got done and went to open the car for his mom and took her hands.

They walked majestically inside the mall. He took her to the ice cream shop, bought her favorite color, and bought one for himself. The mom felt happy because she has been craving for one since. They sat there for a while and enjoyed their ice cream whilst chitchatting. Later the driver drove them back to the house. Marvin helped her to her room and went downstairs to the kitchen to prepare some rice since there was stew in the refrigerator already. He prepared the rice and took the stew from the refrigerator and heat it for a while . He dished some rice in a plate and added stew with a glass of water and placed everything on a tray.He walked gently to his parent room and opened the door and entered. Lucy was fast asleep , she didn't even know it was late nor heard Marvin opening the door. He placed the food down and tap his mom gently, Lucy woke up immediately and asked him what was wrong .He said he has brought her food and it late she needs to eat something. Lucy was proud of her son , Marvin fed the food to her. After eating he sent everything downstairs to wash and asked his mom to wash down and come downstairs so they watch television together. Marvin ate some of the rice and went to his room and washed down and came to the kitchen to take a bowl of popcorn and a glass with one champagne to the living room. Lucy came downstairs after everything and sat down on the sofa. Marvin switched on the television and gave the bowl of popcorn to his mom . Lucy was enjoying the treatment that her son was giving her and that made her forget that she was lonely. Marvin chose her favorite movie and they started watching. Lucy was enjoying the scene and chewing her popcorn along with the glass of champagne. The movie ended shortly and Marvin took his mom to the room. He came back tidied everything up and went back to the room to sit by her until she fell asleep and he left for his room. In his room, he saw that he had a number of missed calls from Masha and another from his friend Walker. He called Walker first to check if everything was fine but the number wasn't going through. He later called Masha, and she answered and apologized for the last time's behavior. He accepted the apology and asked why she called him many times, Masha said she wanted to ask if tomorrow she could come and visit. Marvin told her he was now looking after his mom so he wouldn't be expecting visitors for now unless the dad came back. Masha agreed and said goodbye. Marvin felt sad for not letting her come but in some way, he felt happy that he was taking care of the mom. He fell asleep after the call. Elliot thought about his family, because of his work he hadn't called them last week and he knew he had promised Lucy. He planned to call them tomorrow morning before he left for the summit. Lucy woke up feeling unusual, she checked her phone to see if her husband had called her but there were no missed calls or messages from him. She went to the bathroom to wash down but she tripped and fell. Marbin happened to be coming in that direction and heard the noise from the bathroom. He came immediately and called the driver to come and help so they sent the mom to the hospital. Marvin prayed that everything would be fine, he didn't want the mom to lose the baby. They got there and the mom was rushed to the emergency room and treatment was started soon.He called his dad immediately and told him about the news . Elliot felt sad and nervous so he booked a flight and came down immediately to be by his wife. The doctor told Narvin that everything was fine just that his mom needed blood to help her survive. Marvin agreed instantly to donate his but unfortunately, it didn't match his mom's type of blood. The dad arrived at the hospital a few hours later and asked him about everything. Elliot agreed immediately and luckily hid blood-matched. The blood was injected into Lucy and she became okay. Elliot went inside to check up on her and she started crying because he had flown back to Eastwood because of her.

The doctor said Lucy's delivery of the baby was due. She delivered a bouncing baby girl, and Elliot was very happy. She was discharged the next day. Marvin prepared the baby's room before they came and made some coffee for both of them. He felt happy because of the baby, now he was going to be a brother. Elliot called his secretary and told her to cancel everything including the conference. He needed to be with his family now and make sure everything was alright. Lucy was not okay for now because she had lost weight and needed to get a lot of sleep before she resumed work. So Marvin was doing her work, he watered the flowers, cooked the meals made the baby's food, and bathed the baby always. The baby was so beautiful and cute, she took the mom. Elliot stayed by Lucy the whole time because he was afraid of losing her. Lucy sleeps a lot and eats very little. Elliot called the doctor to come and check what was wrong. The doctor came and made some tests on Lucy but found out she just needed rest nothing else. Elliot was okay after what the doctor said. He left the room to his office since Lucy was asleep. Meanwhile, Marvin was playing with his sister. They named his sister Chloe. He loved the name so much. Chloe was beautiful and ate a lot. She was 6 years already. She started schooling at Marvin's former school. Marvin had passed the exams, he was going to college soon. He applied for admission at Eastwood College one of the popular schools only for brilliant students. He gained admission there together with his friend Walker and also heard Masha was coming there too. He was happy at least he wouldn't feel lonely. He told his parents about it and they were proud of him but Lucy was kind of sad because he would be leaving soon after winter. Marvin told her everything would be fine and now they have Chloe here too. She felt okay at the mention of Chloe. Chloe asked the mom for more cookies and Lucy passed them on to her. She was so lovely when anytime she was eating. Marvin made sure that he spent the winter with his sister before he left. They played games and read to her every evening and sang a song to her. She loves Marvin so much, she sometimes sleeps in his room. Marvin took care of her very well and wished he would stay to do more. The next day was very busy for Maevin, he had only 1 week to leave. He went to the mall and bought everything and packed them in his suitcase and handbag. Chloe was following him around his room. He took one toffee and gave it to her so that he could concentrate on the rest. Later in the day, he went outside with Chloe to have fun with her in the garden. They played water gun and he made Chloe win by shooting a lot of water at him. Lucy was watching them from the window and felt happy for the kind of family she had. She kept on staring at them that, she didn't see Elliot standing closer to her. He came to stand beside her and kissed her cheeks. Lucy went to Marvin's room to check up on his things. Marvin sent Chloe to her room and he bathed her and put her to bed. He went back to his room to see his mom sitting on his bed. Lucy beckoned him to come closer and sit by him. He sat closer to his mom and they started talking. Lucy told him to be a good boy always and not to follow bad friends because the college had a huge percentage of peer pressure on kids. He should remember to always call them if he needs something and take his studies serious. Marvin promised to do as he was asked to do. He hugged his mom and told her to make some cookies for school the day he would leave. Lucy said she would bake as many as he wanted to take to school. She left for Chloe's room, Chloe was fast asleep and snoring. She used the bedspread to cover her, kissed her forehead, and off the light, and left. Elliot was busy in his office when Lucy entered, he grabbed her hand and placed her on his lap. She folded her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately. He told her that they should go to the room. Lucy agreed and went to change into her sexy transparent nightgown. Elliot saw her and told her she was seducing him very badly😂.
