Chapter 3 Katrina in confusion

Looking at her in my arms, she was just fragile, looking at her tangled dirty hair as if it hadn't

been combed for a year. Her lips were cracked because of lack of water I guess.

Her pale skin was dirty and filled with bruises. Even with her condition, she was still

beautiful."This time I got a beautiful damsel in distress as a mate".

I gently picked her up to my room, then I mind-linked Allyssa the pack doctor. Her condition

was gradually getting worse. She needed a doctor fast or else she might not make it.

I was literally panicking, I hadn't felt like this way towards a woman before even with my first

mate but this was different. I wanted her to be well and safe. I was ready to accept her and

protect her. She's my Luna and I'm her alpha. That's all that matters now.

As soon as I got to my room, I saw Allyssa already there waiting for me.

"Alpha, what happened to her? She asked worriedly. caring for my mate.

While we were still talking, she began to whine slowly in her sleep, not making any attempt

to wake up.

"I wish I could take her pains away" I thought aloud.

Allyssa looked at me surprised, she didn't need to ask before I answered. "She's my mate".

"Please help her, give her all the necessary medical care that you can get" I hurriedly

requested, I just can't wait to see her healthy and happy again.

"Of course, Alpha. Please can you excuse us so I can scan her," she nudges.

"No, I will be here until you're done. "Continue with whatever you want to do. I declared.

Out of fear, she didn't say anything else, but pleaded with her eyes. I hesitated for a while

before walking out of the room.

I was restless, going from one end of the hallway to another. My curiosity was getting the

best of me so I opened the door gently and peeped in. The doctor was still running some

tests on her but fixed a drip for her.

After about 30 minutes, she came out with a look on her face that said "Good news, bad

news". "Spill" I commanded. Bracing myself for the worst,

"The blood on her legs came from the injuries from her ankle although it contracted infection

but I have attended to the wounds, and cleaned her up as well.

"Very good, I commented. The. She continued." She looks malnourished." " She needs to

add more weight otherwise, she will be fainting every now and then."

"I don't know what has happened to her, but please make her open up to you so we will

know how to help her," she said.

"Thank you, doctor, is there anything else?" I inquire.

"Not at all Alpha. Just observe her and make sure she feeds well". She definitely needs a lot

of food". She added.

Having finished reporting, she left, leaving the both of us alone. seeing her legs on bandage

broke my heart so I reached for her hands, it was soft and fragile. Sitting beside her, looking

at her face and wishing she would open her beautiful eyes.

Katrina

My full body was sore and heavy, and my eyes felt so heavy from my cry.

After a few minutes of struggling to open my eyes, I finally opened it, everywhere felt new.

"Where I am? I managed to talk.

I was scared. Did my parents find me? Did I die? A series of questions popping through my

head.

Suddenly, I felt a hand touch my cheek, I looked up to see the same handsome tall

chocolate-skinned man with brown hair staring at my face.

"Where am I? I asked softly not wanting to offend him.

"In my room taking treatment, that was when I noticed a drip bag hung beside the

queen-size bed stand.

His beautiful red lips were curled with a warm smile. After looking at him for a while, I

summoned courage to ask questions again.

"Who are you? And what am I doing in your room? He ignored me, walked over to the other

part of the room and brought a Chair and sat beside me.

Well, my guards found you in my territory and they brought you to me but you passed out

even before I could ask some questions".

He said while running a finger through my arms.it was the first time I sat very close to

someone, or even had the privilege of seeing someone answer me so calmly.

My parents had made sure I never got that chance. They constantly hurt me at any little

provocation.

Why is this man being so kind to me? Is it all a trick? Should I trust him?

I wanted to run but my body wouldn't let me. I tried again, this time he lifted his head and

gazed at me.

My eyes caught with his beautiful eyes, and I was lost. Looking into his eyes I felt protected.

I couldn't believe that I was feeling like this or someone else could show me this affection

and care.

Immediately, I got hold of myself. "Did Dad send you? "Please allow me to go". I said in

between tears.

His face changed and he looked confused and worried. "It's okay, little mate. Nobody sent

me and I won't allow anyone to hurt you ever again".

Hmm.. "Is this kind of a joke? I thought. As I tried to remove the drip, he caught my hands

and instantly, I felt a spark again. I looked at him with my eyes filled with fear.

I was now breathing fast, I was passing out again. Suddenly, a lady with short black hair

entered the room.

"Alpha what happened? She asked.

"I can't really tell, but she felt uneasy". He told her.

I presume she's the doctor considering what she hung on her neck and the White coat she

was wearing.

After checking me up, she says, "I don't think it is something serious, she's just

overwhelmed and needs to rest".

However, try and calm her down, if she can relax and get enough rest, she will heal

properly."

The man looked at me with love and concern, he placed a warm kiss on my forehead and

said "Please mate, relax, I will never hurt you".

It was hard to trust anybody else but I finally trusted him, placing my head on his shoulders

as he sat next to me. Inhaling his chocolate strong scent as I dozed off to sleep
