Chapter 7 A Fathers Love

Back at the pack house it's nearly empty when Damien and the others return. Skye and Camila are holding Idalia and Aaron on the couch. Their wrists are red and raw from being bound and they are softly crying. Damien rushes in grabbing both children into his arms squeezing them tight.

"Oh my god my children!" he cries "Are you hurt? Let me look at you!" he kneels and stands them at arms link examining them both. Idalia and Aaron are both crying as they reassure him "Daddy we're ok. We're ok now" they say in unison hugging him again.

"I'm so sorry I haven't been here lately" he whimpers to them feeling ashamed "I love you both more than anything else." they have their arms around their dad and each other. "We love you to daddy." they cry. He picks them up one in each arm and carry's them to a spare bedroom. He laid them down on the bed and went to shower in the attached bathroom. After the night the children have had they fell right to sleep. Damien returned to see them sleeping peacefully. He watched them for some time before exhaustion hits him and he crawls into bed with his babies tucking them in together.

The next day they woke in good spirits. They are very resilient. Damien was making them breakfast when they came in the kitchen.

"Daddy? You're here?" Idalia shockingly asks. Aaron smiles and they climb up on the stools at the kitchen island.

"Yes, I am. I decided to stay home with you two today." Damien grinned. "Is that ok with you, smarty pants?" he winked at them making them both laugh. A seriousness displayed for a moment "I haven't been with you two enough and that's going to change. You are my priority." He smiles at them both.

That makes them ecstatic to hear.

"Daddy, we know you have a job to do." Aaron says.

"Well, it's time to balance between the two because you guys are more important." He places a plate of pancakes in front of each of them. "Eat up!"

It's been weeks since they were taken, and everything seems to be back to normal. Damien decides to take Idalia and Aaron to Willapa River that runs along the outside of their pack land.

"Are you excited to go to the river?" he asks Aaron.

"YES! YES! YES!" Aaron jumps clapping.

"Where's your sister? We need to leave soon." he and Aaron walk into the kitchen.

Skye and Camila are preparing them a picnic basket for their adventure. Idalia is helping them pack it.

"Almost ready Allie Cat?" he asks her. She nods grabbing the basket straining a bit with its weight but insistent that she carry it.

"I've got it dad!" she snorts.

It brings a smile to Damien's face to see them happy. "Let's go kiddo's" he calls for them as he loads his black 2023 Chevy Suburban with blacked out windows, four-wheel drive, and rugged-terrain tires. The kids love it because it looks tough and it's fun to ride in.

Damien mind links his Alpha, Alpha Asher, where he's going, and Asher insists that he take Julius and Kade along. Julius and Kade are fierce and loyal warriors as well as like little brothers to Damien.

"Alright guys, come on!" he waves them to jump in the truck.

"Sweet!" Kade exclaims. "I love the river!" Julius yells.

"Settle down boys!" Damien yells smiling. Idalia and Aaron smiling from ear to ear.
