Chapter 5 New job

CHAPTER 5

He looked everywhere trying to locate his uncle in the crowd. He tried contacting his uncle but his number was switched off, probably because of the airplane policies. He groaned in anger, only to feel someone tap his shoulder. "Liam!" his uncle said with a smile as he gave him a bare hug. "You look quite tattered." his uncle said with a grin. Knowing how his uncle was, he didn't expect any less from him.

He guided his uncle out of the airport as they headed to the nearest five-star hotel. He looked at his uncle who was busy staring out the window, knowing how his uncle was he was sure he was making several calculations in his head.

After his parents died when he was little, his uncle stepped in and started raising him as his son. Arnold was very intelligent and was good with the business and Liam had made him his mentor.

He was quite disappointed in himself, he never wanted to ask for help like this. He hated himself for accepting love in his life, he should have focused more on his business. Making a promise there and then not to get distracted again, he looked out the window.

"You are right, this place is a good investment." He heard his uncle say as they got to the hotel. He nodded his head and the two men walked into the hotel. Making reservations, they headed to his room. Liam made sure to get the best hotel for his uncle as his uncle never liked to compromise his lifestyle.

Soon as his uncle settled down they started making plans, marking here and here to buy. By sunset, they had purchased four plots of land in strategic places while using Liam's third name. All the land was bought in the name of Andrew Brooker.

Hazel couldn't believe what had just happened. When Anderson came back, he immediately started packing for a trip. He didn't seem fazed at all by his earlier action as she cleaned her tears. He left the room with a backpack without even looking back as she scrambled out of his room heading to hers.

She locked the door as fresh tears burst, she couldn't handle this anymore. Anderson was evil and she couldn't deal with his attitude. She began packing her loads back, not before sneaking into Anderson's room and taking his money and some of his properties.

She left Anderson's villa even after the security was stopping her, she threatened them with the police before heading back to her mother's house. She was beyond stunned when her mother refused to have her in. "You can't stay here, head back to the villa now!," she heard her mother day instead of support her.

"Mom, Anderson just assaulted me. He wanted to have sex forcefully without my consent." She said to her mom who looked nonchalant about it. "Stop whining about that, he was going to get married to you anyway," her mother said with no emotion.

She glared at her mother disgustedly before disowning her family."You have lost all rights to be called my mother, I don't want to have any relations with you." she said angrily before storming out of her house. Promising herself never to go back there, she headed to the nearest motel for her stay.

She was going to pick up her life and start all over. She wasn't one of those ladies that needed a man in their life. Filled with regrets as to why she had divorced Liam for a bastard she couldn't help but feel so stupid. She has betrayed Liam and was now suffering the consequences, she wished she could see Liam and beg him for his forgiveness.

After staying in for a few days, she started searching for a new job. She didn't want to go back to her company as it was a family company, she had promised herself never to have anything to do with them and she was sticking with it.

After several hours of searching, she didn't get a job. She was beyond mortified, she passed a building that was once a mall. It had been sold to a new owner and the owner was recruiting new staff.

She headed in and applied as the manager. Happy that she finally found a job, she went back home and was very sure she was going to get the job. Her qualifications were beyond getting the job so she was sure. She also started searching for an apartment that was not very costly.

She still had lots of money that she had stolen from Anderson but her conscience has not been able to spend the money. Feeling very bad for taking what wasn't hers, she had decided to keep it till she was able to use it.

The next day, she got a message from the mall saying she wasn't accepted. She was more than devastated, she was sure that she was going to be accepted. She cried herself to sleep that night as she couldn't believe what had happened, she was back to square one searching for a job.

Liam and his uncle had made lots of progress since his uncle had arrived. They had even bought a mall in the city center, stocking it and recruiting new staff. He had decided to replace new staff so he would be able to hire someone with good qualifications.

He was going through those that have applied when he saw a name that shocked him. He was confused as to why she had applied for a job here. He had thought she would have gotten married to Anderson, why was she searching for a job?

His heart began to throb, she had company and at least was doing fine. Several questions began to pop into his head as he couldn't find a possible answer. Deciding that it was best to stay away from her, he had rejected her application even after knowing she was more than capable of the job.

He didn't want her to find out about his real identity, if she was working for him sooner or later she was going to find out and he wasn't ready for that. He shoved thoughts concerning her away from his mind as he settled to do something else. He was over her and wasn't going to think about her.
