Chapter 3 I know you'll come back to me...

ELLOUISE's POV

My world suddenly stops spinning on what I have heard. I did not expect to hear those words from Hiro. This is actually my first time; that's why I can't digest it well. What did he think about me? Prostitutes? Call girl? What the h*ck is he thinking about me?

I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at him and throw a deadly glare even though my knees felt weak. It's exhausting! I'm not used to him being this close to me anymore.

"Are you serious right now? Huh?!" I exhaled. "Are you sure that you are a lawyer? If you are, then I doubt you can even say something like that. Perhaps you're a p*rn star instead? How can you ask me like that as if it's not a big deal?"

"Because it's not a big deal!" he exclaimed, looking directly into my eyes. "Like it's something we haven't done before, Ellouise. Do you already forget about it?" He even lifted the sides of his lip. "The pleasure? My touches? My thrusts?" Hiro started stroking my shoulder. I felt the automatic burst of heat on my face. Thankfully, I got a snap of it and pushed him as hard as possible. He stepped backward from me, making me breathe easier this time.

"Watch your words! I'm warning you, Hiro!" I exclaimed. This is absurd! He is impossible.

"Why? I'm just telling the truth. We've done it before. Nothing will change if we do it again," he answered casually.

"Are you not attractive? You've achieved all the success you anticipated. Why not attempt looking for a woman or maybe paying a woman in clubs, given that you have a lot of money? It is certain that someone, or maybe all girls, will kneel in front of you. They might even be the one begging you," I said emphatically to him, and then I violently took my folder from the table. "I appreciate your offer. But I don't need your help anymore. I'd rather hire a different lawyer or sell my body to someone else instead of you," I still spoke boldly to him, and then I turned around to leave.

I know my behavior is annoying now because I have the courage to be angry with him while I was the one who left him before, but I don't care anymore because our relationship is far from this case.

"I know you'll come back to me, and I'll make sure of that, Ellouise" he said when I was only a few steps away from the door.

It looked like he was sure about that, but I just ignored him. I violently opened the door, and then I also closed it forcibly, where the sound made a bit more resonant throughout the hallway.

I took a deep breath to control my anger until I could get on the elevator. Fortunately, I was the only one inside, so I quickly leaned against the elevator wall and held tightly to the railings so I wouldn't fall.

I feel like my knees have finally weakened because of what happened. I was thankful that I didn't fall or shrink in front of Hiro because I didn't expect to see him in this latter, especially since he's the last person I would want to see in my life right now.

Fortunately, I didn't panic too much when I saw him.

Fortunately, I fought back my tears when I stared into his eyes like he was saying a lot. I know he looks mad, and I can't blame him. I wanted to hug him earlier, but I just restrained myself because I knew I had no right to do that to him.

You probably heard what I did to him. Yes! I left him! I was the one who ruined everything. No one is to blame but me.

I can't say if I'm sorry for what I did because somehow it brought something good to my life, and of course, I can also clearly see that it brought something better to him. It could be more on the regretful part than on the repentant. Especially since I'm not the type of person who finds regret in the end, because when I've done something, I fully accept whatever the consequences will be in the future. Why would you regret it when the damage you did is already there, right? Can you still bring it back? Not?

I can't say that our relationship was perfect, It's just that I love him, and he loves me. We shared our dreams; we were in each other's future, like other couples who seemed to be very sure of each other. But, like other love stories, our story ends up like this. He fulfilled his dream, but I didn't, and to be obvious, we made our future parted ways which I have considered a good thing. He wouldn't have become a lawyer if I hadn't left before. We both would not have gone-grow as individuals if we remained dependent on each other. Both are sure that our lives will be miserable if it comes to the point that we choose our relationship more than our dreams. Maybe, I just need to look at our heartbreaks more brightly.

I quickly stepped out of that building; I didn't want to return to this place anymore. When I saw Aze's pickup, I got on it and slammed the door shut.

"What happened? Does the attorney accept your case?" Aze asked, and based on the tone of his voice, he seemed to be interested in what happened between the lawyer and me.

"I'll tell you later, Aze, but I want to go home for now," I replied weakly to him, and I just averted my eyes so that he could not see the tears forming in my eyes.

The good thing is he never asked again, and without a word, he started the car while I looked out the window.
