Chapter 9 Lanceil's Brother

Third Person's POV

Lanceil went home feeling tired. He would go straight to his bed and nap before showering.

But when he went inside his condominium, he forgot the fatigue. The shock made him feel so alive as he stared at his maid and brother lying on the sofa.

"What the hell is this?" Lanceil asked.

Agatha and Vincent looked back at him in unison. Agatha's wet eyes widened while Vincent remained nonchalant.

"S-Sir!" Agatha gasped. He pushed Vincent away, and the two of them stood up.

Agatha wiped her eyes and stared at the stunned Lanceil.

'I have to seduce Lanceil, but he caught me lying on the sofa with his brother. Great! I will look like a bitch!' Agatha complained inwardly.

"Oh, brother. You are here," Vincent greeted casually.

Agatha could not believe how he could play it cool when she was trembling in anxiousness.

Lanceil finally closed his mouth. He looked alternately at the two before his voice returned.

"What did you do to my maid?"

Fortunately, it seemed like Lanceil would trust Agatha more than his brother. Well, Vincent was known for being a player.

Agatha felt touched by that. She didn't realize how she looked at Lanceil right now. She gawked at him as if she was staring at her savior.

Pretending to be ignorant, Vincent clapped his hands and uttered, "Ahhh. I see. She is your maid! I was tipsy, so I thought she was a thief when I saw her enter your condo. So, I pulled her closer and interrogated her. That's what happened."

A liar.

A REAL LIAR!

Agatha could not stop herself from glaring at Vincent. She wanted to praise him for thinking of an excuse within a short time!

"Is that true?" Lanceil asked Agatha this time.

She met her boss's gaze and struggled to answer. Right now, Agatha really wanted to complain.

She would like to tell Lanceil that Vincent kissed her in force.

'But if I do, this bastard will tell Lanceil I have a purpose for coming here. Or Lanceil will strip out of this job before he feels apologetic,' Agatha knew this.

That was why Vincent smiled confidently while waiting for Agatha to answer.

'If you want to keep my mouth shut, you need to play along,' this is what Vincent's eyes look like to Agatha right now.

Although it seems so unfair, Agatha is forced to lie.

"H-He is right," Agatha replied. "He was sleeping before. He was startled when he saw me and thought I was a thief. I was scared, so I cried."

Lanceil sighed in relief. He thought he had to sue his brother for molesting his maid. Lanceil doesn't want to do an extra job when he's already busy.

Meanwhile, Vincent secretly grinned when he heard Agatha's answer. He found another proof that that maid was hiding something.

"If that's the case, then fine," Lanceil uttered as he threw his bag to the side. "Vincent, that woman is my maid. I recently hired her. She had nowhere to go, so I gave her a room to use."

Lanceil stared at Agatha.

"Miss A..." Lanceil stopped and thought hard.

Aida?

Asa?

Ala?

Aggie?

Lanceil forgot her name. It was because they rarely met, so Lanceil couldn't remember who she was besides that she was his maid.

"Excuse me. What is your name again?"

Agatha's jaw dropped. Her cheeks flushed as she could not decipher what was wrong with this man's head.

No. He and his brother are both weird!

'Excuse me! I've been working for you for almost a month! And yet, you couldn't even remember my name?!' Agatha shouted inside her head.

Contrary to her thoughts, Agatha smiled sweetly at Lanceil.

'Relax, Agatha. Remember, you need to seduce this guy.'

"My name is Agatha, Sir," she said.

"Ahhh, right, Agatha," Lanceil said. He pointed to her and continued introducing his brother. "Miss Agatha, this is my brother, Vincent."

"Hello, Miss Agatha," Vincent chirped. "I am Vincent. I am really sorry for attacking you before. Nice to meet you!"

Vincent offered his hand, which he used to pull Agatha onto the sofa before.

Agatha stared at her hand.

She forced herself to touch it and gave him a handshake.

"T-That fine," Agatha said through her gritting teeth.

When their hands separated, Agatha placed her hand behind her. She opened and closed her fist, trying to whisk away Vincent's traces.

"Why did you come without contacting me?" Lanceil tossed a question to his brother.

"I wanted to surprise you," Vincent said.

In an instant, Agatha was cast aside. And she felt happy with it.

'Phew. I escaped from catastrophe. I didn't expect that bastard to keep my secret. But for now, I am alive. More than that, I have to contact Brett and ask him why he didn't tell me that Lanceil had married before.'

She silently moved away from the brothers.

Without making any sound, Agatha picked up the fallen items from the broken grocery bag.

"Still, you should have contacted me before coming. When did you arrive?"

"Yesterday. I went to a party and got drunk."

"And you look proud at that."

"Come on. It's not like you don't know me."

"So, where are you staying?"

"Me? I am going to stay here."

Thud.

Lanceil and Vincent looked at Agatha, who dropped everything from her hands. Slowly, she looked back.

Vincent smiled at her as he repeated his words. "I AM GOING TO STAY HERE FOR GOOD."

Agatha couldn't sleep that night.
