Chapter 7 Zane Admits Defeat

In the kitchen of the hotel, Tristan walked around with a glass of wine in his hand as if checking the surroundings.

The chefs were all surprised by his sudden arrival. They looked at him curiously, wondering why Zane and Lillian brought such a young man into their area. And he was not a member of the kitchen crew. He was an outsider.

Tristan had never said a word since he entered the kitchen. He continued checking the sanitation of the kitchen while shaking the red wine in his hand. He also checked the countertops from time to time, looking like a skilled and professional chef.

Kevin was also there, watching Tristan's every move. Deep inside his heart, he couldn't help cursing Tristan.

Zane, on the other hand, could no longer contain his curiosity. He approached Kevin and said, "This guy looks like an old hand. Did he learn how to cook before?"

Kevin shook his head. "That can't be possible, Uncle. I told you, right? He is a poor orphan. Both of his parents died when he was little. Since then, he hasn't had a good meal. This must be his first time entering a high-end hotel."

"That's good, then. He actually acts like a pro. So I thought he was really something."

As he spoke, a disdainful smile crept across Zane's face. "Well, let's see how he will make a fool of himself later."

After making sure that all the ingredients and tools he needed were complete on the countertop, Tristan closed his eyes. Immediately afterward, the recipe, ingredients, and instructions on how to cook the Beef Wellington appeared in his mind. Everything was very clear.

Suddenly, Tristan picked up a handful of ground black pepper and sprinkled it on the countertop.

This meant the show had officially begun.

The first thing Tristan did was prepare the steak.

Then he made the sauce and marinated the beef.

After a few minutes, he grilled the meat.

The procedures for cooking the Beef Wellington were complicated. But Tristan did it all by himself. And his movements were smooth, orderly, and refined. It was as if he was working on an exquisite piece of art.

Even Lillian was amazed. She didn't know much about cooking. But judging from Tristan's movements. she could say that Tristan was a highly skilled chef.

At first, she was in disbelief for a while. She didn't expect that Tristan would master these skills at such a young age.

All the chefs around were even more amazed. One of them suddenly exclaimed, "Obviously, he is an excellent chef. He's way better than those chefs in three Michelin-star restaurants."

Zane had been waiting for Tristan to make a fool of himself. But at this moment, he had a darkened expression, and his brows furrowed, looking very serious. Nobody knew what he was thinking.

Among the crowd, Kevin was the most shocked. As far as he knew, Tristan had been groveling to everyone on the campus. It was hard for him to believe that Tristan had mastered such amazing cooking skills. How did Tristan do it?

Now, he couldn't help wondering if this Tristan was really the poor Tristan he knew. This man seemed to be someone else.

Tristan didn't expect the system to be so powerful. His cooking skills were only at Bronze-level 1, but he knew all the recipes. They were all clear in his mind. And his movements were very natural. He was like a real chef.

After grilling the steak, Tristan put it on a plate and decorated it. Then he pushed it in front of Zane.

Under everyone's surprised gaze, Tristan picked up his wine glass gracefully and drank it as if no one else was there. Then he looked at Zane and said, "Come on. Try it."

He had been a chef for more than twenty years, but he had never felt like this.

Since everyone's expectant eyes were fixed on him, Zane had no choice. He picked up the knife and fork with his trembling hands and cut a piece of meat. The moment he put it in his mouth, he suddenly collapsed to the floor, looking powerless. It was as if he was electrocuted.

"Tristan... You... What did you put in the steak? What is going on with my uncle? Why is he acting like this?" Kevin shouted resentfully.

But Tristan didn't answer him at all. Instead, he just looked at them calmly without saying anything.

Being ignored, Kevin turned to Zane. "Uncle, are you okay? What is wrong with you? Do you feel uncomfortable?"

He anxiously bent over and checked Zane's physical condition.

Much to Kevin's surprise, Zane sighed helplessly. "I lost..."
