Chapter 6 Cooking Competition

Lillian was surprised. Tristan's private room was for super VIP customers. She didn't expect that someone would dare to break in here. She looked at the intruders with a frown and scolded, "Who are you? Why did you break in without knocking at the door? Don't you know that the customers in Private Room No.1 are distinguished guests?"

Kevin froze for a moment. The first time he laid eyes on Lillian, he was awed by her beauty. His mouth even gaped open slightly in astonishment. But he reminded himself of his goal. He didn't come here to find a woman. His purpose was to expose Tristan.

So he quickly took his eyes off Lillian, pointed at Tristan's nose, and scolded, "This man is a well-known poor student in our university. He doesn't even have money for his tuition fee. How can he afford to pay for a membership? He must have colluded with the waiter to sneak in. So, Miss, you'd better check his membership. Then immediately call the police to arrest him. Otherwise, he will get away with this."

Lillian frowned upon hearing this. Obviously, she didn't like Kevin's words. She retorted discontentedly, "Who are you? How dare you say that Mr. Stanfield is a liar! Do you have proof? For your information, I personally checked and handled Mr. Stanfield's membership application. He is absolutely not a fraud.

And you? Actually, it's you who have a serious problem here. This is Private Room No.1, and everyone knows this room belongs to a super VIP customer. But you broke in here without permission. Apologize to Mr. Stanfield and leave. Otherwise, I will call the security guards."

Kevin was taken aback. He didn't expect Lillian to be so tough. It seemed that she had a high position in this hotel. Since he could not deal with her, he had no choice but to turn to the middle-aged chef next to him for help.

The middle-aged chef, Zane Lopez, understood what Kevin meant. He stepped forward, looked at Lillian, and snapped, "Lillian, who do you think you are to order us to leave? You must know that the owner of this hotel personally visited me abroad to invite me to cook here. While you are just a part-time manager."

Then he put his hand on Kevin's shoulder and continued, "This is my nephew. I was the one who let him in here. Do you have any problem with that?"

Lillian's frown deepened even more. She squinted and looked at the middle-aged chef.

She knew he was Zane, the chief cook of Breezy Hotel. He was known for being arrogant. And no one dared to disobey him, not only because of his bad temper but also because the owner of the hotel valued him very much.

When Zane noticed that Lillian was silent for a while, he snorted proudly, thinking he scared her. He also looked at Tristan disdainfully.

Then he asked, "Are you Tristan Stanfield?"

Tristan didn't show any sign of fear at all. Instead, he looked at Zane calmly and answered, "Yes, I am. What do you want from me?"

"I actually heard your comments from outside just now. Did you say I'm not a good cook? And some dishes were not cooked properly?"

"Yes, you heard it right."

Zane looked at Tristan defiantly and sneered, "Is that so? You know what? The thing I dislike the most is when someone criticizes my cooking skills. You like commenting on the dishes I cooked, right? How about we try your cooking skills? Let's have a competition. If you lose, you will get the hell out of Breezy Hotel right away."

Lillian was about to speak up to refuse. After all, there was no comparison between Tristan and Zane. Tristan was just a super VIP customer in their hotel, not a professional chef. How could he be a match for Zane in cooking?

But before she could open her mouth, Tristan had already agreed with Zane.

"Sure. I don't have a problem leaving if I lose. How about you? What if you lose?"

Zane was annoyed by Tristan's reaction. How could Tristan look so relaxed? In a fit of rage, he replied, "If I lose, I will resign and leave Breezy Hotel immediately."

Tristan was satisfied with Zane's answer. "Deal!"

He slowly stood up, pointed at the Beef Wellington on the table, and added, "The Beef Wellington you cooked is not authentic at all. Since you want a competition, I will cook my own Beef Wellington. Then let's compare."

"You are very arrogant, young man! Let's see."

Actually, Zane somehow felt uncertain when he saw the confidence on Tristan's face. But, of course, he wouldn't show it to Tristan. So he pretended to be calm and kept cursing.
