She wore a knee length brown leather jacket and a white top and brown heels to match. The white handbag looked liked a million dollars threw up on it. She walked confidently into the classroom her eyes scanning the room until they landed on Abena. The smile was immediately replaced by a frown as she stared at Abena. "Who is she?" She asked pointing to Abena. "A....a new student," the girl on her left quickly answered. "New student? Since when?" Danielle asked but received no response. "Hey stand!" She told Abena in a commanding tome but she remained unfazed. Instead she picked up her book and started reading. "Such nerves," Danielle chuckled, snatching the book from Abena . "Give me back the book," Abena said, but Danielle only chuckled. Abena got up from her seat and pulled her hand towards Danielle. "The book please," she said firmly. "You want your book?" Danielle laughed. "Then go get it, it'll be fun watching you dig through the trash like a sick rat," Danielle smirked before throwing the book into the bin. "What is wrong with you? It's a book for God's sake," Abena said angrily. "What?" Danielle raised a mocking brow. "Are going for it....or you gonna cry for your mama," Danielle said and everyone burst out into laughter. Abena rolled her eyes and walked past Danielle to go for her book. "Here you go," someone had already gotten it for her. "Thanks," Abena replied before looking up at him. "You look familiar," she told him with s slight frown. "Yeah....."
"You were with Skylar and Irene most of the time yesterday right?" Abena said after remembering where she had seen him.
"Right," the guy smiled back.
"By the way I'm Dave," he extended an arm. "Abena," she smiled accepting the handshake. "And thanks for getting my book," Abena added and Dave smiled. Abena walked over to her seat only to find water all over the place.
"Can't I at least have a normal day?" She thought looking over to the one person she felt was responsible. Danielle had a satisfactory smile plastered on her face whiles giving Abena an I-dare-you-to-do-something look. Abena reaches into her bag and pulled out the bottle of coke Irene had given her earlier and walked over to Danielle. "You know when I saw you at the door I thought you didn't only have beauty but brains as well. But then you proved to me that light travels faster than sound. You appeared so bright until trash started falling out of your mouth," Abena said watching Danielle's smile turn to rage.
"How dare....." but before she could finish her sentence, Abena emptied the content in her bottle on her head. Danielle gasped in shock and angrily got up from her seat as the drink soaked her entire body.
"What?!"
"That a little payback to tell you that you messed with the wrong person," Abena smirked. "And oh, one last thing," Abena said with her eyes fixed on Danielle's bag that was sitting on the table. She picked up the bag walked to trash and looking at Danielle straight in the eyes, turned the bag over and emptied it's contents, that included her phone, makeup kit and keys, into the bin. "It'll be fun watching you surf through the trash like a diseased rat," Abena said her bold smile never leaving her face before letting leaving the bag into the trash can. Everyone in the class including Dave were shocked to see what had just happened because this was the first time someone had actually stood up against both Skylar and Danielle. These two were untouchable and no one dared to question their orders yet this mysterious new student has done that.
"I'll deal with you!" Danielle yelled walking over to Abena.
"Let's see what you got," Abena chuckled, folding her arms across her chest.
"Do you know what you just did? Do you know how much it costs? Even if I sell you and your family..." A hot slap landed on her cheek as soon as the words left her mouth. A huge gasp escaped from the crowd as they all anticipated Danielle's reaction.
"You.....h.....hit....me," Danielle stammered, her hand still in her cheek.
"And I'll do it again if you dare say another word against my family," Abena rolled her eyes.
"I'll teach you a lesson," Danielle growled lifting her hand to hit her back but it never landed because someone else had grabbed it. "Skylar?" Danielle said with a frown.
"What are you doing here? Why are you in this class? You have....."
"Did you just raise your hand at her?" Skylar growled, taking Danielle by surprise.
"What?"
"I asked a question," Skylar said ignoring Danielle's question earlier.
"Yes!Yes Skylar Yes! Yes I tried to hit her. Now does that answer your question?" She said freeing her hand from his grip.
"What are you even taking her side? It's my side you're supposed to be on. I'm the victim here," Danielle yelled poking her chest. Abena just remained silent watching all the lies Danielle was pouring out. She was just perfect at lying and acting.
"She threw my bag in the trash..."
"That was because you threw her book in the trash," Dave chipped in.
"Who asked for you side of the story?" Danielle yelled at Dave rudely.
"You can't speak to Dave like that,"Skylar said in a warning tone.
"What has gotten into you Skylar? That's not how you were when I left," Danielle said making Abena roll her eyes.
"Well times change," Dave answered.
"I don't want to ever see you try to hit my ma..." Skylar coughed as soon as he realized what he was about to say.
"Don't ever try to hit Abena again or else..." were the last thing Skylar said before leaving. Abena moved to the empty seat beside Ace's, making her realize he hasn't been in class the whole time so she decided to call and check up on him. Whiles Danielle just stood frozen at her spot, her mind processing what just happened.
