Chapter 4 Bargain

Alex POV

"Sir, we have an important meeting," Lucas said as he held Alex's office door open for him to go out.

"Yeah, I know that,". Alex replied as he walked out with disinterest.

"Should I reschedule the meeting? Lucas asked, looking at him.

"No, I don't want the clients running away from us. I have postponed it for the past two weeks". He explained.

"It's a good thing because most of them are already complaining. You were supposed to attend it yesterday but you canceled it and spent the whole day inside your office thinking about God knows what?" Lucas asked.

"I was thinking about a beautiful girl. She is a beautiful distraction from my boring workaholic life" he mumbled .

Lucas was so surprised. His boss was acting like a lovesick teenager.

"He had never seen his boss show interest in anything other than his work. He would be glad if his boss finds love. "Sir, I have an idea," Lucas said with a smile.

Alex raised his brow at Lucas, "Go on," he said with curiosity.

"She loves the orphanage so much and she is angry because you bought it and is about to drive them away. Why not offer her a new site in a rural area and in return you will ask her for a favor." Lucas said with a cunning smile.

Alex nodded his head "great, brilliant idea" he chuckled. "You're smart, let's do this.... We will go there in the evening and propose the offer to her". Alex said with joy.

In the evening, Alex and Lucas drove into the orphanage. They met sister Catherine and she welcomed them.

Alex narrated a fake story to sister Catherine telling her he offered Olivia an internship that came with a high profile job and a six figure salary.

Sister Catherine was so surprised. "Olivia, Olivia" she shouted for Olivia's name in anger.

Olivia POV

"Yes sister" I answered running to her and I was surprised to see Alex in her office. My eyes narrowed at him as I wondered what he was going there.

"Can we talk privately? He asked like a gentle man.

I was about to yell at him when my eyes fell on sister Catherine who signaled me to stay calm and I nodded.

We excused ourselves and went to a quiet corner.

"Why are you here? Why do you want to talk to me? I asked, standing beside a door far from him.

"Sit please, we need to talk," he said, sitting down on a chair.

"Why, what for? I muttered folding my arms across my chest.

"I was thinking of building a new orphanage for you all on another site" he said.

To say that I was surprised at his words was an understatement but this was our home. I don't want us to leave it for another place. "Really? You rich people give fake promises a lot to avoid revolt from the poor and with time everyone forgets about it. If you are sure why not leave this site for us" I said.

"If I give this site to you, what do I get in return? Absolutely nothing but if I build a mall here I will earn millions of dollars" He explained.

"You want to render the innocent poor kids homeless and that makes you heartless" I snapped at him.

"What if I want something in return?" he asked and I looked at him in disbelief.

"Can you make sacrifices for the innocent poor kids? He asked. "Can you? He repeated with a smirk.

"I don't have anything to offer, but I can give my life for this orphanage" I said helplessly. Silence ensued between us for a while before he broke it.

"Sell your life to me, and I will give you this site as the price" he said and it halted my thoughts for a second.

"What did you just say?" I asked in shock.

"I want to be with you forever and in return I will pay you," he explained. "I was attracted to you the first day I met you and you have been a constant distraction to my life. I want you at any cost, I want to be your sole owner and I don't mind offering the world just to have you" he confessed.

I was shocked when I heard him. "Do you want to marry me? I asked.

"Hahaha, not marriage, just to live together , take your rights, give you money, luxury and take you from the orphanage" he explained with a smirk on his face.

"Never ! I can't do that and will never stoop so low" I said with a confused look on my face

"I told sister Catherine I was here to offer you a job and she was so happy. Do this for her and everyone. Just like you said, you can do anything to protect innocent kids" he said. "Do it for sister Catherine and the kids and I promise you a bright future. You will have a big position in my Enterprise, the world will know you, I will give you a car, you will stay in my mansion and your life is going to change" he chuckled with a dirty smirk on his face.

"What do you mean giving my life to you? I asked to get a straight answer. I knew that he was trying to manipulate me by mentioning sister Catherine and the other kids in the orphanage. I would do anything for them but I wanted to know what I was getting into before I agreed.

"Sex! I want your body, don't be scared no one would find out it's going to be our dirty little secret. I will not not let it ruin your image in the orphanage. Your life will be secured, that's a promise" he said, adjusting confidently on his chair.

"You want to pay such a price for my body but you don't care about my feelings because you're rich and I'm poor and helpless". My voice held bitterness.

"You're not helpless. It's fine, I am not forcing you, I just gave you a chance to get back to the orphanage site. If you are not interested it's okay. Do what you feel is best and I will also do according to my feelings. I like you so much and I wanted to express it. It's your choice to accept or reject the offer. However,if you reject the offer, the orphanage will be demolished within a week and within a year I will build a mall on it. And if you accept the offer, the orphanage will be left untouched. Think wisely my dear. Take your time to decide. Don't be in a hurry. Give me a reply by tomorrow. Meanwhile I will be making arrangements on how to demolish the orphanage" he said.

His words pierced through my soul like an indirect blackmail. The thoughts of his cold warning filled my mind.

"You have my card, call me by tomorrow to tell me the decision you made," he said standing up to make his way out of the room.

"I accept your offer". I said in a low helpless tone preventing him from going outside. This was not what I wanted but this was what I had to do. I could not allow others to suffer what I could help. I could give them everything they wanted and all I had to do was pay him with my body. I felt disgusted but I had no choice.

He turned around immediately and his face beamed with joy. "Are you sure? He asked, taking a deep breath. I nodded my head holding back the tears that were prickling behind my eyes.

"You're such a darling, I can't believe it" he hugged me.

"Give me the documents to the site and I will hand it over to sister Catherine" I said while standing like a statue as he hugged me. I hated his touch because my heart was filled with hatred for what he was making me do but I did not push him off.

"Sure sweetheart, I will hand it over to you first thing tomorrow morning when I come" he chuckled happily as he planted a peck on my cheek.
