Chapter 4 Feral Wolves

Nicholas POV

''But you lose brother'' I said and within a twinkle of an eye Liam's grip on me had slackened and he was on the floors, he had collapsed.

I knew that was going to happen. The first time such a thing happened was when I was in the no man's land, I had encountered a rogue wolf and it was evident that the madness had eaten deep in him, there was no humanity left in him again. The wolf was just raging mad he must have probably lost his mate.

I fought him hard and for a long time but he must have been a fierce warrior because his moves were smooth and he was able to beat the shit out of me. At one point his mouth got close to my underbelly and he bit me hard, I groaned in pain and used my paws in shoving him aside, he got close to my neck and bit me hard again. This time I thought that my life had ended until I saw him thrashing on the floor, his heartbeat gradually reducing, he was literally having a heart attack, someone who almost killed me.

This occurrence happened many times in the no man's land and it was my saving grace. I would be in a battle with a rogue wolf or vampire and I might be losing and suddenly they would bite me and I gain the upper hand.

I later found out that my blood was poison for some supernatural beings, at least the ones I have encountered with the exception of witches because if they get my blood or my sister's own, it would spell doom for many of us. Drink little of my blood and it will weaken you, the moment you drink enough and it will bust your organs from the inside out and it could even stop your heart.

My mother was a direct lineage of the Moon Goddess and that was why she didn't just spiral down into madness the moment her mate died. Unlike most wolves who wouldn't have been able to survive it. Only if Matteo was smart enough he would have wondered why he couldn't break her spirit and make her submit to him, even when her mate just died. All he was interested in was that she submits to him so he could gain more respect from his supporters, his ego was his doom.

Mother tried her best to conceal her true image from Matteo because if he knew the extent of her powers he would have turned her into a breeder, she would have just been breeding children he would eventually sell in the underworld or she would have been making babies to build his army.

Father was the Alpha King but the real rulers are from Mother's lineage. That's also the reason why I was indestructible, the combination of both lineages made me an abomination.

I lifted Liam like a sack of potatoes and placed him on my shoulders while I trekked back to the packed clinic. "This bastard weighs a tonne''

Third POV

Daphne took the child to the pack clinic. "Who is the doctor here, please check this child for any injury," she said while dropping the girl for Roselyn to check her.

After Roselyn checked her thoroughly she explained to Daphne that nothing was wrong. "She's okay, she was only scared due to whatever she saw today. I will give her some drugs now so she can sleep and calm her mind"

"But I would like to know what is going on so I would know how best to help her," Roselyn spoke while she looked defensively at Hector who was resting his back at the door looking bored.

"She witnessed some rogues that penetrated this pack," Daphne replied, offering her a smile. "I think when you see Alpha Nicholas he will be able to explain better." Daphne tapped Hector on his back and motioned for them to get going.

"What of her parents?" Roselyn questioned them.

"You're the pack doctor, you just need to ask a few people and you will get your answer. We are new here." Daphne mentioned.

Nicholas made his way back to the pack clinic with Liam on his shoulders, he couldn't help but think about the power that his blood held. It was a curse and a blessing, all at the same time. He had been able to defeat countless enemies, but at what cost? He was constantly worried about accidentally poisoning those he cared about.

That was the major reason why he can never accept Roselyn as his mate because she is weak and cannot even defend herself. She could accidentally die if she tries to mark him and if he marks her alone without her marking him the mate bond would not be complete and it would disturb them both, they could end up marking each other because their wolves would be going crazy and she might end up dead. Moreover, he doesn know to what extent the problem his bloodline could cause. He practically ingests himself wolfbane and a little dose of silver so he doesn't go off on his humanity and his wolf begins to control his body.

Nicholas got to the pack clinic and dropped Liam on the bed. "Dr. Roselyn please flush out his whole system."

"I would start the IV transfusion now, but I would want to know why he is drenched in blood and why was the lockdown suddenly lifted a few minutes ago!" Roselyn spoke while she was busy at her work.

"And...... about the small chil...." Nicholas didn't even allow Roselyn to complete her statement before shrugging and replied to her. "I hope you do your work more than you talk?" He said and he lowered his gaze to check her from her head to her toes. He shaked his head and started moving in the direction of the door.

"Mind you doc, make sure you chain him down, Ash would help with that. And on no condition should you allow him to cajole you into releasing him. If you do so it's at your own peril. He will suck you dry" Nicholas spoke like he was talking about the weather.

Ash came into the room immediately Alpha Nicholas left, she sat in the room. "Thank you doc Roselyn. Once you're done I would be chaining him and don't bother yourself he will be alright." She spoke like it was a normal thing.
