Chapter 5 The apology

"Am sorry my friend,I didn't know how to tell you in fact I was ashamed of telling you"I apologized.

"So you mean the son of a multi millionaire is an impotent?" She asked with a high tone

"Please stop shouting,my father might hear you"I told her

" Well I don't think there's anything wrong with you getting married to multi mmillionaire,at least you will be free from that demon that calls himself Marley oh I mean bobby" she said

I just kept on looking at her as if I wanted to strangle her but I just waved it off.

She advised me to just play along with the whole plan even if I was not interested in the wedding just for the sake of my family business and after the wedding we can both live our lives the way we wanted.

I thought of the advice and decided to go along with it after all there's nothing to lose .

The day of the engagement has finally come both parents were all happy and jubilating

The preparation started early,I seem uninterested about everything that was happening but I just managed to smile any time I come across his parents.

After which the engagement party started everywhere was bright and beautiful with plenty to drink and eat.I meant people of different classes and status I kept wondering what the wedding would look like if an engagement party is like this

I didn't expect so many people to show up like this.immediately I saw ariana, my mood was a bit lighted.I felt a little bit comfortable and was able wear a little smile.In no time Derick came in with his friends,Honestly I didn't expect him to come with his friends,I guess he was also trying to play along

While the party was still going on I made sure I avoided eye contact with Derick and tried to stay calm.From the beginning of the party to the ending of the party we never said a word to each other but in front of our parents we pretend to be ok.only ariana could understand what was happening.

Finally the engagement party was over .I was very tired and just wanted sleep.Ariana and I went straight to my house,she was going to pass a night in my place.in no time we got home had our bath ,ate dinner and went to bed.

she was trying to start a conversation with me but I wasn't in the mood I just wanted to rest my head it has been a long day.I pleaded with her to wait till the next morning and I was happy she understood me.

The next morning we were still in bed when my phone rang ,it was my fiancé calling.

Honestly I didn't even hear my phone ringing because I was deep in thought it was ariana who picked the call and gave me the phone.

I was afraid of saying anything,I thought he might have seen my engagement party via social media because a lot of pictures were taken,I didn't have any other option than to say something.

"hey baby" I said

"Hey love,how are you doing?!! He asked

"I m fine I just woke up now!!I answer

"I tried reaching you yesterday but your

number wasn't going through!! He said

"my phone was off !!I replied

We had a little conversation and hanged up the call.

I was a bit relieved,at least he doesn't know about the engagement party.

After some morning routine,ariana had gone home already,I sat in the living with my laptop on the table,i was wondering why the company I went for an interview hasn't reached out to me or was is that I was not qualified.I took my laptop from table and was trying to apply for another job in a different company. Then my mother walked up to me

"Good morning mother"

"Good morning my daughter.I noticed you were happy yesterday during your engagement party"she said

"Oh that,yes mother I was happy"

"That was good.my daughter you should know I and father loves you so much and we can't lead you to the wrong path"she said with a passionate voice while holding my hands.

We hugged each other for a while and separated then she continued the conversation

"your wedding date will be fix today!!she said

"mother, why the rush!!I asked in shock

"because your father need that money as the deadline bank gave him is fast approaching!!she replied

I went to my room in anger I wasn't ready for the discussion my mother was about to start.

My mother walked up to my door and started knocking but I didn't bother answer her.after a while she left.I didn't come out from my room till it was evening.I came out and met my father in the sitting room watching football I greeted him and joined my mother in the kitchen then I apologize for acting rude to her earlier.

!!Good evening mother!! I greeted

!!good evening my daughter!!she answered with a calm voice

!!mother am sorry for what happened earlier I didn't mean to be rude!! I said bowing head and wearing a pitiful face

!!its ok my dear I understand,I shouldn't rhave told you that way!!she replied.

!!mother,am I forgiven!! I asked

!!yes you are!! She replied .

We made dinner together and I had a good time with my mother.we had dinner together then went to my room to take my bath and replied to some messages on my email.

I called Marley to see if he was still awake at that time but there was no responses,he might have slept already.

After replying to some emails I put my laptop aside and had some rest.

The following morning after my regular morning duty, I lay on my bed to rest for a while when the thought of applying to other companies for a job came into my mind cause I was getting bored in the house plus I needed something that will take my mind off all the drama that has been happening.
