Chapter 6 More Shocking Reveal

CONNOR'S POV

I turned to Heidi who was impatiently waiting for me to end my call.

"I'm moving in with you for a while, it's better that way. It will make it easier for us to watch each other's backs because if Jeff finds out we are on for him, he's going to try something silly" she said looking at me

"Wow, I'm glad you've finally agreed to move in with me. I've been asking you to move in with me in this huge Mainsion for ages and besides nothing is going to happen to us I'm sure of that" I smiled

"Well today is your lucky day and I'm saying just in case" she said.

"I'll be going now, I'll be returning in the evening with my stuffs" she added as she stood up from the chair.

"I'm coming with you so I can help you" I said as I stood up too.

"Thanks" she replied with a smile.

"You're welcome" I winked at her before we headed straight to my door.

The moment we stepped out of the house I locked the door and we drove off in my car to Heidi's apartment.

We were silent for most of the ride.

When we arrived at her building we got out of my car and went inside.

We had to go up three floors before we got to her floor.

When we finally reached her floor we walked straight to her apartment.

She unlocked it and we walked in.

" We both put our shoes by the door and hung up our jackets.

Shortly after that Heidi took out some things from her handbag and put them next to the wall.

She sat on the sofa and gave off a sigh of relief.

"Are you ok?" I asked curiously

"Of course I am. Connor, you know if we are able to pull this off and we successfully get him behind bars, I'll be promoted and if this works out as I want I would be richer than I am, I mean emm you know what I mean" she said to me with a smile

"Of course I know and you really deserve it, you've worked your ass off day and night unlike me that skip days from work" I smiled.

She smiled back and stood up.

After a while she walked to her fridge and brought out a bottle of orange juice.

She poured it into two cups and handed one to me.

We drank and she sat down back on the sofa.

There was only silence between us until I broke it.

"I'm a bit nervous" I said before I took another sip from my glass

"I know" Heidi replied as she poured the remaining orange juice in her cup. "I am too" She added

"So are we going to pack your stuffs or what" I asked with a smile.

"Yeah that's true" she said as she stood up and went to her room.

I followed her Immediately and together we packed everything she needed from her apartment.

When we finished packing all her stuffs, I left her and went downstairs to wait for her since she went to use the restroom.

Shortly after that, she came out with a bag in each hand.

"Ok where do we leave these? They look heavy" she smiled

"Oh don't worry about them. I think I can handle them" I smiled and picked the bags up and placed them in my trunk.

After that, I closed the trunk and we started driving home.

The drive home was relatively quiet which was unlike the both of us but I guess that day we were just lost in our different thoughts.

Especially me, I was just trying to pretend like I'm no longer hurt so I won't make Heidi worry about me much.

Once we arrived at my house I opened the trunk and grabbed her bags.

She took one from me and I carried the other to my room upstairs.

We unpacked her luggage and then went out to eat dinner at a restaurant down the road.

We ate silently, the only thing you could hear was the little noises our spoons made with our plates and the sound of the restaurants peaceful music.

It was around 6pm when we were done eating and right there at the restaurant we decided to go home and watch movies.

We decided on watching movies on Heatflixer which was the most amazing movie channel with different types of movies to choose from.

Heidi agreed immediately

"Maybe it will take my mind off all this" she said.

We walked home as fast as possible and immediately we got home we switched on the Television.

When we finished watching some movies I decided that it was time to call it a night.

We both crawled into bed around 9:00 pm and I fell asleep almost immediately.

I slept that night hoping that Sarah gives us her full support the next day.

I woke up the morning feeling exhausted even though I had just slept for 9 hours total.

I got up from bed and stretched.

I put on some black sweatpants and went downstairs to start making breakfast.

While I was cooking pancakes Heidi joined me and sat at the dining table. She helped me put some eggs, bacon and tomatoes into a frying pan.

When they were cooked, she helped me flip the pancake.

Immediately we were done preparing breakfast we ate, showered and went straight to work.

I put on a black long polo and a black leather jacket over it with a little oversized black jean trouser and a pair of black boots.

I really love wearing oversized clothing, it's kinda like my signature look.

I parked my hair up in buns and took my black hand bag along.

Well I just love the color black so much that it reflects on everything I own.

Heidi on the other hand went to work before I did since she was very good at getting ready very fast. I wonder how she does that.

I didn't forget to go to work with Sarah's Diary of course since I don't want to make her more angry than she has to be.

Getting to work, I parked my car and entered the building.

Immediately I did so, Sarah rushed towards me and hugged me.

I was not surprised by that since she was fond of hanging around me, I smiled and we walked in together with her.

I will admit Sarah was looking so beautiful in her black gown, almost as if we planned on putting on same color of clothes to work.

She looked kinda different like more beautiful than she always look and maybe it's because for the first time I'm seeing her without her hair in buns, she just allowed the hair rest on her shoulders this time around.

"I'm surprised you didn't yell at me" she said to me as we walked in

"Emm, I guess I'm just kinda Happy this morning" I replied with a smile.

"I Wish you keep on smiling like this" she replied as she hunged her arms round my neck.

"How are you feeling now" I asked

"I'm very much better now, and besides I guess I took my acting too far day before yesterday a..nd I've missed you too" she replied with a smile

"I kinda missed your company too and your acting didn't work on me" I replied with a smile as I settled down in my office.

"It would next time" She giggled while I just smiled.

"Let me get you a cup of coffee" She suggested.

"Wait first, Here have this" I said giving back her diary to her.

"I'm sorry I kinda snooped and I hope you forgive me" I added

She looked at me and looked at the book and before she could say any other thing I went and hugged her hopping she doesn't push me away and fortunately enough she hugged me back and tears started rolling down her cheeks.

"It's alright, everything is going to be fine" I said as I sat her down on my chair and left to get her a cup of coffee.

I returned as fast as I could and gave it to her and made sure to make it creamy for her since she loves it creamy unlike me that loves taking mine plain with nothing in it.

"Thanks" she replied as she gulped down the whole cup.

"You're welcome" I smiled

"There's something I need to tell you before you go to your work table but first I have to ask have you been in touch with him lately, like about a month ago?" I asked immediately

"No, not all" She replied.

"So if she's not 'Hei' then who is Hei?" I muttered to myself before I was distracted by Sarah

"And what do you want to tell me about" she said as she adjusted her blonde hair

"I just wish you would do it for me" I said further

"I'll do anything for you but that's if It's something I can actually do, I can even give you my kidney and my heart if you want it" she jokingly replied while I smiled

"I would want you to follow me to my house after work but that's if it's ok for you, there is something I and my friend must tell you about Jeff" I said

"Do you know where he lives?" She asked looking at me straight in the eyes

"No, Not really but with your help we can" I replied

"I'll be so glad to help" she said as she stood up.

"I'll be leaving now, I'll be working for longer hours today"

"Me too, I kinda left work very early yesterday" I replied with a smile

"Hmm, someone couldn't last a day in this office without me" Sarah said sacastically as she winked at me

"Maybe" I replied with a smile as I opened my laptop to start work.

Just as I did that someone's voice interrupted and it was Marlin.

The moment she Walked in I saw that she seemed like she has been crying.

I set aside our differences and went to meet her.
